We've been here before and it was all they said it was -amazing! The food, service and ambiance were all fabulous so we decided to have our wedding reception there too. Our December wedding was being held at the church across the road so it was really convenient to have our 'do' right across the road. Annie couldn't have been... More

This is more than just somewhere to eat. It is a delightful place to go for the "special occasion". The staff are very well trained and it shows We have dined here many times and it never disappoints. It is always a special treat.

Hadn't been here for 4 or 5 years but have fond memories of the duck and my son was desperate to try it as a birthday treat. We arrived with several other groups just after 7 o'clock to find the bar and reception area empty. Having waited around patiently for some minutes we went into the restaurant to find 2... More

I used to visit this restaurant in the '60's with my parents and was dutifully overwhelmed by the experience. Today I took a friend for lunch to celebrate her birthday - somewhat older and wiser these days - but it seemed as though nothing much has changed! The food is still delicious, with the roast duck to die for, not... More

It's truly worth 1:20 hrs drive from London to have the delicious crispy duck here every time I'm in London! This is a small Inn with cute garden. Duck should be reserved, so as Bread and Butter pudding. Their sticky coffee with ice cream is worth the little weight gain

My parents initially found The Kings Head over 40 (perhaps even closer to 50) years ago...and it's still as brilliant as it was then. Over the years fashions have come and gone, but George and his team remain constant. Their impeccable service puts other establishments to shame. I note that it has been suggested that this restaurant is child friendly.... More

We are regulars here. This is the second time my wife and I have tried the 5 course lunch menu, which offers outstanding value for money. Thoroughly enjoyed all courses, coupled with a lovely - and reasonably priced - bottle of Sauvignon Touraine. Service attentive and discreet. Overall a great experience.

Why has it taken us 30 years to re-visit this excellent restaurant. The last time I was here this place was the best place to eat for miles. It has not changed. The old adage "you get what you pay for" rings true for this gastronomic beacon. The menus are inventive and the food well presented by the attentive staff.... More

we met friends, who had been told about this place from friends in THAILAND, and were not disappointed. The staff we great, traditional service and knowledgeable regarding the menus on offer. A must is the roast duck although there wasn't one complaint from the 8 diners at our table. not cheap but certainty exceptionally good value. will be returning soon

Want a trip down memory lane, well this is the place for you. The food has been brought into the 21st century and is creative and proficient. The service and restaurant is of another time ( in a very good way) I wondered where all the fancy cutlery and contorted napery had ended up......well it's all alive and well at... More
