Attended my sisters wedding on Thursday at Balloo House. The rooms upstairs are perfect for a small wedding. Chef, Danny Miller did a great job. Lots of choice, everything was hot and looked and tasted amazing. On the service front, Vanessa and the team couldn't do enough for the guests. All in all a great day. Thank you to the... More

We had a very ropey experience on our previous visit which I won't dwell on, I'll put it down to a "one off". Fair play to Danny Miller and his manageress Vanessa, they invited us back to attempt to repair my newly acquired negative thoughts. The afternoon was wonderful, the food and service was top class. One of the best... More

I dined with friends for dinner last week, the food was delicious and the staff are friendly but very professional and attentive.

The odd time I go out for Sunday lunch I look forward to a roast lunch being made for me by somebody else. And it must be a roast, it is Sunday is it not? So our party arrived at 15.00 on the end of a 40 mile journey, famished. We are “pointed” towards our table, get seated and are... More

We went to Balloo house in November and the Sunday lunch was fantastic ... today it was worse that a frozen meal for one. It was simply terrible and the staff were to say the least going through the motions. At 2pm we were told there was no lamb and no beef left for the sunday special roasts - then... More

I have been to this restaurant many many times over the years and consider it the best restaurant in Northern Ireland. I always go away with a smile on my face after tasting amazing flavourful food. Portion sizes are good and I have never felt ripped off with poor service or bad food. The one and only time I had... More

Due to my severe allergies I was nervous about eating here. However the staff went about and beyond my expectations and were wonderful! I was repeatedly checked and reassured by the waiting staff and I was given a menu from the kitchen. The chef had gone through the menu for me and clearly outlined the foods that I could and... on entrance to the restaurant it seemed very industrial ie dirty and dingy. The service was ok but the food was not of the standard it should be. Vegetables under done and when complained another amount of Brussel sprouts were brought to the table but were of the same standard. I know that the in thing is al-dente but it... More

Food is always exceptional upstairs at Balloo House and on a cold winter evening the welcoming staff and roaring fire was just bliss. The langoustines were mouthwateringly succulent, a special starter that will linger on my taste-buds for a very long time.

Visited on a Sunday eve at 6pm. and it was surprisingly relaxed. I expected the large family Sunday roast brigade, but thankfully they were absent! Everything on the menu was excellent and varied.. Large amount of fish dishes, but not all your usual - there was Brill & Coley amongst it. (I chose the Brill with garlic prawns and the... More
