We booked here due to the place taking part in the eat out to help out scheme. I would recommend booking as we were told they were fully booked for Monday and Tuesday evening! They have a huge marquee in the garden which is fab for us with the dog and great if the weather is not good. Luckily we booked early and arrived promptly at 5pm. Drinks orders were taken quickly, followed by our food order. We were a group of 10 split over 2 tables so had no expectations for our food to come super quickly. However the food arrived with only a small wait and was lovely. The only issue we had was that the pizzas were rather small and the desserts we ordered came as kids sizes rather than adults! The staff could not have worked any harder on Wednesday evening and I really felt for them. They dealt with the EXTREMELY rude customers so professionally and I wish we had tipped them all more. Elan our waitress was rushed off her feet back and to from the marquee all night but was so professional and calm. Thank you Elan you were fantastic! I would recommend booking here early as it was clear many customers had issues waiting for food. However their attitude and arrogance was extremely unnecessary and incredibly rude. My advice would to be to have waitresses set to certain tables and a station outside with cutlery, sauces etc so they did not have to keep running inside. All in all, a lovely evening and lovely food!

Booked a table for 4 for our first return after the refurb .
Pleastly supprised with the look of the place . Very modern and comfortable , well furnished , clean and tidy and nice toilets .
Good welcome and first drinks order , very pleasent young lady (wearing glasses !) .
Ordered starters which mostly arrived quite quickly apart from 1 portion of Hallumi fries for which I had to wait 10 minutes as they arrived after the other guys were finished . Good portion size . 2 times Halloumi fries , 1 garlic mushrooms and 1 chilli pate , ( wife said pate was lovely but needed a little more toast .
Long wait for mains , ( nearly an hour ! ) But when it did arrive it was well presented . 1 sirloin , 1 chicken pie , 1 small fish and chips and 1 hanging steak kebab .
The guy who served us got quite confused about who was getting what and what the meals actualy were , in fact he tried to take them away !
Everyone was quite happy with there meal apart from the hanging steak which was totally cold .
I went and found the guy who served us and he seamed pretty annoyed at me pointing this out , he actualy grabbed two pieces of the steak with his before having to agree with me that they were stone cold . He said he would sort it and then took my plate away leaving the small portion of skinny fries in front of me to nibble on . After 10 minutes he returned my kebabs and they were indeed slightly warmer , no fries came back .
He wasnt very bothered that again I ate alone as my friends had finished .
Half an hour later 2 young ladies to our left also ordered the kebabs and they both arrived stone cold and they said that the guy was again very annoyed .
Now of course Im aware it was saturday evening but the place wasnt crazy busy .
I paid £120 for the meals and all in all it was okay but the guy was quite rude and at £19 for a portion I would expect it to be at least hot and not mahandeled by the server , and maybe I should have been given a new portion !

Attended on Saturday early evening. We have eaten here a couple of times and the pub itself is really lovely and decorated and looked after well.
We had hanging kebabs and the 120z gammon together with puds and the food was delicious and the hanging kebabs were shared between two as there was too much food for one person.
The service was not the best - we were put on a table in the corner by the toilets when the place was virtually empty. Plates were taken away and we waited almost 15 minutes before we asked for a dessert menu, we had to ask for our order to be taken and we had to ask at least three times for the bill.
There were at a minimum of 4 waiting staff standing around looking bored when there was actually work to do.
Food is great but the staff need to be more attentive.

The staff tried their best to keep us happy but it was impossible to ignore the feeling of being taken for a mug with the standard of food on offer. We benefitted from the Eat out to Help out half price deal which brought the cost down to what you would expect for the food but at full price would have been way off.
The starter of pate came with bits of bread that were not even toasted and salad straight out of a bag I could have bought from Spar (actually it's a very good Spar in Nefyn, that might be unfair on Spar. No dressing, very basic and yet I think the price was £6.95. Not particularly expensive but for that I expect better and back home would get better from most pubs I know.
I had a fancy sounding Texan burger for main course (£12.95) and it was again very basic but presented in a fancy looking metal tray. Ok for half price but full price should have been excellent for such a simple food to prepare. A piece of chicken , smothered in some pork/sauce mix, in bread, some fries and a piece of sweetcorn.
The chicken was 'Southern Fried' on the menu but what came was just a plain piece of chicken. When this was pointed out to staff it was explained they didn't have any so had to change it but offered chicken strips instead. When the replacement came it had the elusive southern fried burger on it. They must have found one! Also then had ciabatta bin instead of brioche burger bun. All a bit random, OK for cheap but this place is not cheap.
It's a shame Robinson's beer is only average too. Perhaps I have been spoiled by too much good pub-grub, but that's not my experience with what on offer here.

Not homemade food I’m afraid.
I had cheese and onion pie which had obviously been bought, beans and chips £13 was a bit expensive, my friend wanted shredded duck in tortilla wrap, which was not shredded but lumps of duck and was served cold, I told her to mention to them, but quite honestly to get the attention of anybody and the woman serving drinks being abrupt, we decided not to bother.
So glad we found Ship Inn 5 minutes away and Bombay Joes, both of which we visited twice.

We had booked a table 2 days in advance for 4 people and a dog and requested in the bar area where we were told dogs were allowed.
Arrived at the pub 15 minutes early to be told our table in the bar wasn’t available and that we where now in the marquee..This would of been ok if it was a nice evening but it was blowing a gale and bloody cold..
Not a good start..
We decided to tough it out and order food..
We ordered 2 chilli con carne 1 curry and a Texan burger
The chilli was thrown on a bowl with a dollop of sour cream and guacamole and a few nachos .Both my wife and son(17) agreed that it was very poor value for money
My youngest had the curry he said that it was nice.
I had the Texan burger.. The chicken was dry even the pulled pork couldn’t make it moist.Chips were cold and corn looked like it had been kicked around the kitchen and that was it.I had to ask for condiments and service was nonexistent.
It must of been bad as the kids didn’t want a dessert ..
We have been coming to this part of Wales for over 10 years and have always visited here..
It’s a shame as we were all looking forward to visiting after the refurbishment..
Hopefully it was a bad night..

The food was ok and the staff were lovely, but there was about an hour’s wait between finishing our starters and the main course being brought out (during which we asked twice about our food to be told it was on its way). And then when the food arrived some elements were missing (beans from a child’s meal, flatbread from a curry) - when we asked about them we were told they had run out, no apology, no offer of something in its place or a discount.
At the prices charged this really should be a lot better than it is - which is a shame as the location is great and the staff seemed to be trying their best.

Went there for an evening meal as we had booked before hand, we were told when we arrived that there was an hours wait for food which was obvious as they were full and it was eat out to help out. We ordered our food straight away and we did wait but were prepared for it. The food was faultless when it arrived and it was obvioua the staffbwere working their hardest, especially with the covid restrictions in place limiting their staffing levels. Tue only downside was other customers yelling and moaning at staff for things that were out of their controll, will be returing when there are less whiny customers around!

Visited last week with my children and their friends. The food was good dont get me wrong (only worth the money as the 50% deal was on, without it the prices are pathetic for what you get)... the staff had no idea what they we’re doing. Waited over 2 hours for food even my little one wanted to walk out at the age of 6 as he had enough... poorly managed as the manager was standing and speaking badly about Harlech Frozen Food’s down to her friends.. visitors wont be here forever they need to appreciate the locals that will keep their business open during the quiet periods which will be very soon

There was over an hours wait for the food to be served. The waitress arrived with 2 Sunday roasts and informed us that there were no roast potatoes left. I asked to speak to a manager. 5 minutes later the other 4 roast dinners arrived with 1 roast potato on each plate (who knows where they came from)
The manager was rude and totally unprofessional.
She stated that there Sunday roast dinners only ever have 1 roast potato on, so don’t go there if you’re feeling peckish.
The food was substandard and Luke warm. The manager said “don’t eat it and we won’t charge you”. This was the level of customer service that we received from this establishment.

Hi Steveby3398oo thank you for taking the time to leave us your honest feedback. Now i will give my version of the incident, You booked your table for 7pm were seated and your drinks order was taken. Your food order was taken shortly after, after 20 minutes you asked the waiter where your food was, he explained we had two staff on in the kitchen to which you responded that wasn't your problem. They had run short on roasties of which you were informed by the waitress who also said they had popped on pigs in blankets to make up for having 1 large roastie instead of 2. The meals left the kitchen 32 minutes after being ordered. You then requested to speak to me the manager,i came over to speak to you at no point did you say the food was lukewarm or sub-standard you merely complained of the wait to which i asked could you cook a meal for a family of 9 at home from fresh in 20 minutes, Shortly after that your grandmother and yourself came to the bar and asked to speak to me again. I was at that time in the kitchen and helping them get another 12 tables of diners fed. I was shouted at by the pair of you about your wait and how disgusting it was that i was not sorting out your bill enabling you to leave happy, in other words you wanted your food for free, i was accused of not spending enough time sorting out a problem which was beyond my control at that point short of asking you to wait 45 minutes while i cooked some more roast potatoes. At that point i ended the conversation as the 12 other tables were more of a concern than an aggressive customer that couldn't be reasoned with. After you left every table in the establishment commented on your behaviour. No wonder people are leaving Hospitality in droves. We served 186 roast dinners on Sunday without a single complaint.

My husband and I were on holiday with our dog and came across this pub on our travels. I did phone to check the times of food servings and spoke to a very helpful lady who explained the timings.
They are a dog friendly pub and have seating area inside and outside in a covered area, we were able to sit inside as we had got chilly on our walk which we were very grateful for and had a lovely seat by the cosy fire.
We had our temperature taken as well as details name phone no etc, operating a one way system which is clearly marked with hand sanitizers provided throughout the pub, great compliance with COVID regs.
The pub is well laid out tables spread out and lots of cosy corners and comfy chairs to sit on. Beautifully decorated with some classy Christmas decorations, very clean and tidy and the toilets were spotless.
We ate lunch there two days running with an extensive menu for all tastes. We tried the fish, burgers, sandwiches all were lovely, hot, fresh and huge portions, we also tried the Helles larger which was great for the thirsty walkers.
I have no hesitation in recommending this lovely friendly pub, we really enjoyed our time there.
Thanks to all the lovely staff for looking after us and our four legged friend and will definitely return in the future if we are in the area.

We booked a table for 7:30 this evening and although busy on arrival on a Monday night we ordered soon after. Table service by the young girl was good, but we waited for over 45 minutes for any of the order to arrive.
The pea and mint ravioli was very small as a main course portion, no sauce provided and looked like mushy peas in pasta.
Gammon steak was a good size but a “portion” of chunky chips to go alongside was less than 10 chips. For a meal that you are given the calorie count on the menu as being 1085kcal that made the chip count even more questionable!
The loaded fries were nice and we were delighted with three of us there to have ordered based on the portion sizes.
Finally the Chicken Caesar salad was nothing like that explained on the menu “gem lettuce with croutons, grated cheese and Caesar dressing” appeared as a mixed bag of salad, tomatoes and cucumber with chicken pieces. When asked again if there was everything ok by the young server (we appreciated her asking) we pointed out that this salad was not what was said on the menu. She apologised and went to speak to her manager who came over to argue that croutons were not on the menu (they are)! Not to mention the lack of cheese alongside and the gem lettuce being absent!
They exchanged for this without charge from the bill for a smaller gammon steak, which we did appreciate. This had far more chips in comparison to the bigger meal ordered alongside.
We have been coming to Nefyn for years and Y Bryncynan alongside, however this was such a disappointment that I don’t think we will be coming back and will certainly not be recommending to others.

Kevin M, we regret to hear that you had a negative experience with us, but would appreciate the chance to turn your experience around. I am the manager and I actually wasn't on last night however a member of staff contacted me to explain what had happened and could she remove the Gammon from your bill to which I agreed she could. I have looked into this this morning, and the chef explained he had asked the KP to make up the salad, unfortunately, it was the first time he had been on since we changed the new menu and made a chicken salad rather than the chicken caesar. Our manager would really like to speak with you more regarding this matter, so we can come to a resolution Please contact us at manager@ybryncynan.pub. We look forward to hearing from you.

Phoned the number from the website and booked a table for two at 8pm. When we arrived at the restaurant they didn’t have us booked in and we were then told they don’t take bookings after 7:30, and the number on the website doesn’t call directly to the pub, instead, it calls a head office and the call handlers had more than likely booked us in at another pub. Luckily, they were kind enough to still serve us food although we felt a little rushed. There was then some confusion with the bill, we weren’t given a receipt, (which we now know going forwards to ask for one), instead the waiter had already put the total in the card machine and told us how much we had to pay which we rounded up to the nearest 10 as a tip. Suspecting we had been overcharged we calculated the cost after arriving back at our hotel, as we felt rushed at the restaurant and didn’t want to keep the staff any longer from their home time. We’d been overcharged £22 and returned to the restaurant the following day to resolve the issue. We were told the reason for the overcharge is because we willingly paid a £20 tip, unfortunately, we’re not that rich to be tipping £20, whether there was some confusion on mishearing the total amount but we both heard the same thing. They agreed to give us the £22 back, but instead of refunding us they additionally took another £22 from us. Luckily, before leaving we checked our online banking and noticed the error. In the end they gave us £44 in cash and all was resolved. Whether it was a spot of bad luck for us but our first experience at the Y Bryncynan ended up being more hassle than it was worth.

Whilst holidaying in the area, we were looking for somewhere special to eat for lunch on our wedding anniversary, having searched online through many places and not finding anything fitting, we stumbled across Y Bryncynan and from the website thought it looked a cut above the rest. There looked like lots of lovely options on the menu to suit all, so we booked a table for the following day. I stated that it was a meal for our anniversary and we would need to sit outside as we would have our 2 dogs with us.
When we arrived, a young man greeted us and wished us a happy anniversary which was a nice gesture. As the outside seating was not too busy we were told to choose a table, which we did. Give the staff their due, we moved tables as it was cold where we had chosen initially, but this was no trouble for them.
The starters were lovely, no issues there. I had the pate which I thoroughly enjoyed.
But when the mains came, mine did not come out. I flagged down a member of staff who asked me what I had ordered. I told her and she went to see where it had got to. She returned a short time later and said that it was 'just coming now'. No apology or anything.
After another 5 minutes it was clear that it was not 'just coming now' and that whoever had taken the order had not put it down. I waited another 15 minutes before my meal was brought out and by then my family had nearly finished theirs as I told them to start so as to not to let their meals get cold. Mine turned up just after I had nipped to the loo.
When the waitress came to check if everything was ok, I said that I was disappointed that my family had finished their meals as I was just starting mine. The waitress just asked 'who took your order?' didn't seem bothered at all. As it was, I was unsure who took the order but the waitress who delivered the food was quick to point out that it wasn't her who had taken the order.
It was clear then that the staff team were avoiding us where possible. A man who had been collecting glasses came to collect our plates. We told him again at our displeasure and he sort of apologised but then asked if we had ordered on the app as though that might be the cause of it.
We asked for the bill after that and were presented with it. We wanted to query an item, which was explained, but nothing was offered as a goodwill gesture, not even an explanation or heartfelt apology. It might not mean much to them, perhaps complaints are ten a penny to them, but to us, it spoiled our special afternoon.
It's a shame that the manner of service didn't match the lovely website.

Arrived for early tea as we were starving after our drive here.We were taken to our table and told of the covid rules which was good.We waited a while for our drinks order and even longer for our food.Starter of pate was expensive for what it was and the salad was actually lettuce and half a plum tomatoes with no dressing and three tiny pieces of wafer thin bread and frozen butter! Main course for hubby was beef and ale pie which usually comes in its own dish anywhere we’ve ever eaten? But this was a shop bought basic pie and a few chips with kale !! I had king prawn sweet and sour which taste exactly like Uncle Bens !! Drinks were expensive and we had to keep stopping the staff for service .Too expensive for very basic food so won’t be going again which is a shame because it is very nice.
