Ate twice at this restaurant. First meal was Conch fritters, Nassau Grouper, plantains, rice and peas, and coleslaw. Second meal was whole Red Snapper, coleslaw, fries, and plantains. These meals were absolute perfection. Original flavors, fresh fish steamed and fried, portions were filling, service was great, atmosphere is family style, and all carried out under the watchful eye of the man himself Vincent McDonald aka CURLY. And no we are not related by blood as far as we know. If you are in Nassau you owe it to yourself to stop in at CURLYS. Come with an appetite and I promise you won’t be disappointed. You can even tell him I sent you.

this is one of the best and most convenient restaurants in one of the busiest (pre-corona) in one of the most beautiful parts areas in new providence, known by locals as fish fry tourists as Arawak cay. the staff is professional and kinda and even with the excessive demand in the past the always insured that the food and drinks both virgin and alcohol infused were made with excellent quality and care. the one takeaway was the bathrooms as they needed to be treated properly and taken care of by the tourists and locals who use them whilst enjoying the incredible menu. this is not the staff's fault as they are trying to take care of the customers drink and food orders there is simply not enough time, money or staff in the budget to be picking up the mess made in the bathrooms constentently so this is a task that most be taken on and adhered to by the customers themselves for a full circle effort. yes they appreciate and love you being there and here but please do not let the intoxicating environment and pleasure we offer here make you become toxic to the products and environments we present to you and this is a message to Bahamians, Haitians, jamiaicans ex-pats (English and American) and embassy officials and tourists from all over the world. the message stands WE are all in this together. stand by what you preach and preach love to all involved and all visitors and tourists.

Was walking by the Fish Fry area and Curly's caught my eye as I read about it on here and was recommended it by a local.
Portions are big, do order the Conch Fritters and ask for the house Spicy sauce.
Their BBQ Ribs are amazing too.

We ended up at Curly’s because of our bus driver’s recommendation. The Arawak Cay is kind of honky-took with about a dozen restaurants, probably all of which offer the same fare. We had read reviews about Twin Brothers and another taxi driver recommended Frankie Gone bananas but we ended up at Curley’s. We sat upstairs and ordered a variety of dishes including the conch fritters. My husband particularly enjoyed the fried grouper. The service wasn’t spectacular but we were also there mid-afternoon when they may have had less staff. It was also New Year’s day. If you’re looking for a good fish fry then a trip to Arawak Cay is recommended.

Curly is adorable! He greeted us right out of our taxi and took us to the table. The service was excellent. This was our first time having conch! We shared a Caesar salad, some delicious daiquiris and a seafood platter of grilled lobster, lightly breaded and fried conch, Mac and cheese, fries and peas &rice. So delicious and worth every $! We finished every bite. If we had more time we would have visited here again. We will be back! Thanks curly !

We had a great family outing with kids (12 and 10). We were unsure about the Fish Fry but were quickly greeted in a way that was reassuring. We decided on Curly's out of the many restaurants based on the friendliness of the staff that was standing on the street with a menu.
Inside was dimly lit with a festive Caribbean feel. Wait staff was friendly and helpful with menu questions. Food was excellent, drinks were great, portion sizes gave us leftovers. Kids wanted to go back again the next night. If we have the opportunity to go back to Bahamas, Curly's will certainly be on our must visits.

Curlys offers phenomenal authentic bahamian food, we stopped in randomly on the first day and made it a point to stop back in at least once every day after (usually for conch fritters 10/10). All of the food was affordable and DELICIOUS. The best part however was how welcoming and friendly curly and the rest of the staff are, they really made us feel like locals. I highly recommend stopping in for conch fritters and an ice cold kalik (preferably a valley boy).
ALSO they take cards but you must bring cash for tips, the service is well worth it!!!

Curly’s was recommended to us by a local contact. We’ve had good experiences with a couple other fish fry restaurants but Curly’s stands out for the personal touch and the preparation of dishes like grouper and conch. We were seated by Curly himself in his ubiquitous Lakers jersey and our server was Monique. Monique was delightful and she made the dinner super fun with her bubbly personality and spot-on recommendations. We did a “family style” meal with 5 people and didn’t have a bad bite - every main and side was prepared perfectly with a little Curly’s twist. Thanks Curly’s for the memories and we will be coming back for years to come.

Dinner was AMAZING!!! The grilled seafood platter was to die for, fried conch, grilled lobster, and grilled grouper. The fried grouper was a very light fish with a delicious taste. The grilled snapper fell off the bone and had excellent juicy flavor. Our service was also top of the line, everyone was very welcoming and our server Paul was very polished and professional. Definitely come and give it a try if you can!!!!

My sister and I visited Curly's in January after our taxi driver recommended it. We took a ferry from Paradise Island to downtown Nassau and walked to Fish Fry. We are pretty fast walkers and it took about 20-25 minutes. We were looking for a place to eat when two employees outside Curly's said we could each have a free Bahama Mama if we ate there, so of course we said yes. Macquilla was our server and was so attentive, friendly, and just overall great. We started with Bahama Mamas (I don't think they ended up being free lol -- but they were good!), I ordered cracked conch and conch fritters, and my sister who hates seafood ended up LOVING the fritters! We had to hustle back to make our ferry (15 minutes on the way back... may have sprinted a little), but would definitely go back to Curly's.

Can't say enough about this place. From the beginning to the end, the service and food was awesome. The amount of food was too much, we felt that we wasted it. Appetizers we had, Fried Shrimp and Conch Fritters, they give you Bahama Drinks for free. We also had their Island Beer Kalik. Dinner we had curry chicken and jerk pork, they give you 3 sides. Plenty different food options to select. Our waitress was awesome, so knowledgeable and beautiful personality. The tip in included already in the bill, but we left additional tip. Just amazing food and service. We tried 4 different local restaurants so far this one was our favorite

Best restaurant we found in Nassau! So good we returned for our last day after trying others during the week. The cracked conch, fish fingers, fresh grilled fish, and sides were all excellent. Their peas and rice was the best we found on the island. Enrique was our favorite host and server - exceptionally good customer service - friendly and helpful with great recommendations for us all. We had a large family including small children and all of us loved Curly’s!

This place is absolutely delicious. We went here our first night in the Bahamas. The atmosphere is safe and cozy. Curly is always there greeting his guests himself and making them feel welcome. The food has amazing flavor, the grouper is juicy and tender. The Mac and cheese is to die for. All of the staff are very friendly and helpful. Really good prices. Try and go at least one...we went twice.

I met some folks that recommended this place as we all arrived at the same time. Had heard/read good things about the "Fish Fry" location as a place to eat. This place seemed as good as any and as I mentioned the folks we met recommended it. This is a place where they have a carnival barker outside hustling people in and he's good at what he does. Wife and I both had Nassau Grouper, she got the basic version which came with french fries along with the fish which was $15ish. I got the "plate" which came with three sides thinking it'd be more fish along with the 3 sides for $25ish which I thought was pricy but what the heck. Both contained the same amount of fish and the sides weren't really worth $10 extra. Way overpriced for what I got. The service gals (2 came to take our order separately) were terrible. I had ordered a Bahama Mama drink and it never came (not charged thankfully) and they never came back to check on us, only time they did was to bring the bill which included a forced gratuity ($5-$6) so you no option to pay less (or more). Fish was decent but who knows if it was really Grouper or Tilapia (trash fish which I'd never eat, I fish so am picky about the fish I eat). Total bill was $56 which I'd compare to a meal from Long John Silvers. I'd avoid this place and won't come back on the inevitable next cruise we go on to Nassau.

We ate lunch here and had a great experience. Curly who is the owner greeted on the street and we decided to try it. Guy Fieri had visited him and they were on his show. The appetizer platter was our favorite- the conch fritters and fried grouper was very good. We were able to substitute the chicken wings for fried shrimp which was also excellent. Food and drinks were reasonable priced compared to the resort we were staying at. Our service was great and attentive. We would highly recommend them!
