Get ready to watch Ocean to table as they pull conchs out of the water on the dock as you watch they crack them pull meat out, bring to an impeccably clean open viewing station and chop it up with the lime and veggies etc and serve it right up to you!! Open flame lobster 🦞 was Aaaahhhmazing. Huge portions of everything!! Two BIG full tails with giant sides like plaintains and rice for less than crappy tiny tails at many places in the states. Comfy seating on sunset deck, and kind and personable staff. Made sure everyone had safe taxi ride at Covid curfew.

Visiting the Bahamas for the first time, we were blown away by the level of service and value we received from this Fish fry restaurant. Goldie met us at the door with a welcoming and genuine smile of a proud restaurant owner focused on a positive customer experience. It was a no pressure view of his establishment that started from a shack and was now built into one of the premiere places to enjoy authentic Nassau cuisine.
We were treated as family member from start to finish including how to harvest and prepare conch to delicious and unique drinks.
The service and food were exceptional and I would say this is a MUST visit part of your trip to the Bahamas.

Thankfully, Goldie’s was the first place we stopped in to sample conch, the Bahamas’ most famous food (I think). A lot of places tend to gouge tourists, so to find one reasonably priced was pure luck. What is there to say? Great seafood, lots of conch options, and decent priced alcohol. Goldie’s goes the extra mile to have stuff on the wall educating us on famous Bahamian personalities. Nassau has a rich but unknown history, is what I gathered.
Locals and tourists appeared to form the client base. Go further into Nassau, particularly downtown, the ratio will change drastically. I have spoken.

It might have been one of the worst experiences for dinner for our family. Crazy thing, we were here 3 years ago and had a good experience with good food.
We entered the restaurant at 7:45pm and the lady up front said they are totally full you can’t be seated for two hours. I made the mistake of asking to walk back and take a look around. When I got to the back there were 3-4 open tables for six and I asked the waiter if we could sit. He said sure, we were slammed but everyone closed out their tabs at the same time, please have a seat.
Our waitress was pleasant enough, but it actually felt like we were not wanted there . We ordered 6 meals, some drinks and apps. The apps came quickly then we didn’t see a server for an hour. We asked another associate for a second round of drinks. She said sure but didn’t do anything. 15 minutes later I went to the bar and eventually got them myself. The food finally arrived some of it cold, some good some horrible. Two meals went uneaten.
I expressed our surprise and even asked did we do something wrong since I can’t remember such a poor experience. The level of disinterest was incredible. Business must be so good now that they just don’t care about people’s experiences. Two other tables around us just got up and left, while another rolled their eyes at us, like “what is really going on here”.
We love supporting local restaurants when we travel, but this place seems like they actually only want local patrons. If you are ever in the Bahamas traveling please skip this place. Eat at your hotel or go get fast food, either will be a far better experience.

There are many eateries in the Fish Fry area at the Arawak Cay. Upon recommendation by our cab driver, we decided to give Goldie a try. Its conch fritters served with peas and rice were crisply yummy. The service was great and staff were friendly. I would recommend a table booking because of the influx of travellers from cruise liners berthing some minutes walk away at Prince George Wharf in downtown Nassau.I will eat here again but as there are many other eateries which have received good reviews, I may be persuaded to check out others. Anyway, Arawak Cay is certainly the honey pot for seafoods lovers!

My husband and I were in Nassau for a few days prior to meeting family in Exuma. We stayed downtown and everyday walked around and looked to eat/drink at the best local places. A local named Peter suggested Goldies when we asked about the Fish Fry area.
We walked less than a milea long a path by the beautiful coast. The late afernoon rain was unexpected but was fun! We got to Goldies and were immediatly welcomed. The food and drink were beyond expectation! Food was great... (Conch salad, Lobster Tail, Grilled White Fish, Plantains)....very reasonably priced. Service? Never met more genuine, beautiful people! You wont be dissapointed.

Goldie's was recommended to my girlfriend and I by our taxi driver as well as multiple hotel wait staff. We went for lunch on an early Saturday afternoon and were seated on the outdoor deck. We watched the sea turtles and stingrays while waiting for our food. The conch fritters and conch salad were excellent and a great value.
Most impressive was that Goldie went to each patron, introduced himself and made sure the food was prepared satisfactorily. After finding out that my girlfriend and I had walked to Goldie's from Goodman's Bay beach, he bought us both a shot! When I asked about his source for conch, he explained the history of the business (30+ years), introduced us to his wife and brought us into the outdoor kitchen for a demonstration of how he prepares the conch salad.
If your idea of a vacation is meeting local people and trying local cuisine, this is the place for you. We wish Goldie, his family and staff all the best!

Goldies was a nice find for a quick lunch. we were given a list of 3 restaurants at the fish fry and the other two were closed so we tried Goldies.
We had the cracked (dipped in batter) lobster and the vegetable conch salad. The conch salad tasted bit like ceviche.
Both were good so we ordered another serving (takeout) of both items for dinner.
The restaurant is located at the edge of the water where they feed the fish so we saw turtles, fish and even a stingray. The water view is not spectacular but great ambiance.

My wife and I visited Goldie’s and we are very satisfied. The store front was inviting and stuck out in comparison to the other restaurants in the Fish Fry area.
The service was great and the food was well prepared and amazing. We shared the seafood platter with fries and we were surprised at how good the food tasted. We especially liked the grouper and the shrimp. The fried conch was a little tough.... thinking that it is better served as the conch salad. Would definitely advise travelers to visit Goldie’s when you pass through here.

The food and drinks are fire! I had the seafood platter and everything was good! The "Call a Cab" drink is real. After two of those, I was done and called a cab! The conch salad, fritters, and regular fried conch food were great! Ummm, I also brought the jerk chicken and that was my fault (this ain't Jamaica)! The plantain and rice and beans were good but the jerk was nasty. It was like grilled chicken with bottled jerk sauce you can purchase at your local grocer...bad! But again don't go to the bahams and buy jerk chicken. Again, everything else was delicious! I'll come back.

Such a disappointment! We are not the type to complain which is why you shouldn't go :
1. The food was not good - there were 6 of us and all of us were extremely disappointed we wanted to cry. It's pricey, and yes you get a huge portion, but that doesn't mean diddly unless the food is good. I had the grilled conch and it was so full of bones that with each small bite I had to pull 3-4 bones out of my mouth (and I swallowed 2). It came in a foil that was mixed with everything else, so I had to check each fork full to ensure there were no bones. Two others had a pasta dish, each one different, and they were not tasty. I can't remember what the other 2 ordered but they weren't happy with it at all.
2. There was karaoke going on during dinner, and it was bad. Who wants to listen to terrible singing during dinner??
3. The service was blah. No follow up. We asked for 3 bills and received one. So when we once again stated that we require 3 bills, our server sighed and said Well you'll have to wait a while because I have others that I have to serve first.
The only plus was that upon our arrival, Goldie himself poured all 6 of us a delicious tequila rose shot and chatted with us for a few minutes. Thanks Goldie! It was a pleasure talking to you.

Great selection of food, very authentic and nice staff. However full of flies, I saw a worker catch and prepare the conch, bite a mouthful into the conch and then bring the remaining into the kitchen to be prepared for the customer. Disgusting and very shocked especially as covid is still high. Disappointed. Also the whole family (3members) had bad stomachs the next day

Was looking forward to visiting. On arrival the security man directed us through the doors “where your waitress will greet you and seat you”. We went through, one of two ladies behind the bar said “find yourselves a table”. We did and waited. Eventually I got up and went to seek help. Three waitresses were sat at the bar in animated conversation. “Could I, er, have a menu as we’d like to order?” One followed me back to the table where we looked through the menu”. Ten minutes later someone came to take the order, we’d settled on grilled prawns. After another lengthy delay they arrived, with a lot of rice and very few prawns which were in any case steamed not grilled. We ate a rather unappetising meal, paid the check and fled. It was just so awful, it was almost funny. A dreadful experience all round.

We experienced extremely slow service, despite being nearly empty with staff standing around everywhere. There are all kinds of signs telling you to expect slow service and to expect it “their way” but we just didn’t expect 25+ minutes to get our beverages and well over and hour to get our food. The food was fresh, and piping hot— but did not come out at the same time. We had one plate that didn’t come out until everyone else was finished. We were on a cruise and just didn’t have hours to dine. We will try somewhere else the next time we port in Nassau.
