Located in the heart of downtown Bay Street, Athena cafe offers the authentic greek cuisine with a Bahamian flare. Not only you can find the traditional greek favorites here but also Bahamian delicacies such as conch, snapper, grouper and lobster! We are a true, family operated business that want everyone to feel like family as soon as they enter. Have a choice to sit at our cosy bar, our air conditioned dining room or the lively verandah.

Best mojito I’ve ever had and amazing Greek food! I am Greek and have had a lot of traditional food and this was Greek! Loved the chicken gyro! Highly recommended this place! Rebecca is so so nice and you can tell they put their hearts...More
To be honest, the Athena offers really great food in a fantastic location. Conch fritters perfectly fried although current conch offerings all over town a bit more 'chewy' than usual at the moment.

We went to Nassau for a conference, and stayed at the Baha Mar. We took a few extra days on each end of the conference, and stayed at a different hotel downtown and tried out some of the local restaurants.

We are staying at Atlantis, but we always make the water taxi ride ($8 round trip) into Nassau for lunch at Athena Cafe. It’s one of the oldest family run places in Nassau, and the food and service is consistently excellent.
We have been in this restaurant on previous visits to Nassau, and enjoyed having a cool drink overlooking the Main Street.
When we called in this morning, we made the waiter aware that all we wanted was a cool drink, and he told us the...More
We sampled the Conch Fritters here during a food tour and they were very good. We would defiantly go back and order them again.

This Greek restaurant is located above a jewelry store, and you walk through the jewelry store and go up the stairs to get to the restaurant. You can eat inside in air conditioning or outside on the porch, which overlooks Bay St. - the main street running through downtown. It should be noted that Athena Restaurant closes early and downtown Nassau becomes a ghost town after 6 p.m. Your best bet is to take a taxi from Atlantis to Athena in the late afternoon for an early supper (or late lunch). You should plan to leave downtown Nassau to go home before dark (of course, that depends on the time of year). It's nice to go there by 4:30 p.m.
