Nothing in Nassau is cheap but Athena offers a great dining experience for the money. This is a family business and it is clear that everyone takes pride in the service and the food. The building is old and decor simple but none of that matters when you try the Octopus or Lamb Gyro. They have a second floor terrace... More

This restaurant is located downtown in Nassau. Today was my first visit and I was pleasantly surprised. On entering the upstairs location the ambiance, food and staff takes you on a journey to the Greek Isles. The menu gives you a great choice of the traditional Greek specialties as well as local items. I found the staff to be exceptional... More

We are staying in SandyPort at the west end but rode the #10 bus into downtown to have breakfast. We ate upstairs at the Athena. My husband had the Gyro omelette and I had the veggie omelette. The service was top notch. The food was fantastic. Each meal came with toast and just the right amount of potatoes prices ranged... More

Lovely restaurant on the first floor. Friendly staff. Fresh Greek food. Loved the pork chop ($25) served with rice and peas. Greek salad a bit expensive at $15 with not to much colors. It needed to be more vibrant with more red tomatoes and olives. But overall, the food was good and not too heavy.

I had the gyro with lamb, and it was very tasty and well spiced. I was pregnant at the time and was constantly sick, but somehow I still managed to love this place.

My group of 4 enjoyed an excellent Lunch in the upstairs restaurant of Athena. Its worth going upstairs to the very clean and cool restaurant. This is a popular stop for cruise passengers and is about 2 blocks down Bay Street on the corner. We enjoyed Fresh Calamari--not chewy as you may be used too. Conch Fritters with a kick... More

As usual, I must always stop here every year and say "Hi" to Peter and have my Saganaki and a drink. You can eat inside or outside on a balcony watching over Bay Street Market area. All the Greek dishes are authentic and wonderful

Having read the reviews of this restaurant I had high hopes of a great meal but I left annoyed . Having read the great reviews for the Conch chowder I went for that as my starter, my partner not wanting a starter ask that her main was brought out when mine was. After having to repeat this a couple of... More

We stopped in for another snack on our visit to Nassau. We ordered hummus and mojitos and hummus and it was fantastic. They have a nice seating area on a balcony and our bartender/server, Alexis, was very nice and attentive. Thank you!!

Located in the heart of downtown Bay Street, Athena cafe offers the authentic greek cuisine with a Bahamian flare. Not only you can find the traditional greek favorites here but also Bahamian delicacies such as conch, snapper, grouper and lobster!
