We had the paella for two and it was fabulous. Close to the street but still a nice bright spot for dinner.

My family enjoyed our first visit to La Tapa. The charcuterie plate was excellent. The best pate (house made) Ive ever had. My boys (18 and 19) loved the paella. Best meal we had on the island hands down.

As frequent travelers to STJ over the past 15 years, La Tapa is one of our musts for every trip. Last night, we had an exceptionally fantastic dinner and felt very safe during the pandemic. Tables were appropriately distanced. We observed thorough cleanings of tables...and chairs in between the two seatings. Hand sanitizers at every table. All employees wearing masks covering nose and mouth the entire time. Friendly, welcoming service and the food was amazing! Highly recommend the tuna, mahi, gazpacho, and no meal for us is complete without the salad with goat cheese....YUM!More

We ordered 4 tapas and they were all wonderful. Top notch! Salad with goat cheese, calamari Sicilian style, lamb, and mussels. The sauces were excellent; greens fresh and interesting. Our best meal. Will come back!

Gazpacho, seared tuna, flan, and mussels. Sat outside on the patio. Great job of distancing. It was perfection. Highly recommend this restaurant.

The husband and I had our “date night” dinner here and were nothing less than impressed. The service was impeccable, despite it being very hot and humid and the employees having to wear masks. They were all friendly and attentive even though you could tell...they were hot as heck. We shared a lovely bottle of Rosé as well as fresh bread with herbed oil, the chefs cheese plate, the mussels (these were AMAZING) and the larger mahi plate. All were delicious and presented very beautifully. We loved our dinner at La Tapa and will definitely be back on future trips!More

This was one of our favorite restaurants on the island! The detail that goes in to prepping ever plate is unsurpassed. Everything was so fresh and so good!

We stopped by one night when it was raining and we could not find a table anywhere else. We will be back. It is true tapas style. We would order a few plates, eat them, then order a few more. It has a full bar...and nice wine selection. They do not have a drink list with the typical fare, so if you want a different pace and a real drink this is your place. Try the salad nicoise, I guarantee it will be a unique style.More

Visited la tapa mid June with my wife. My dish were ok, lamb meatballs and a Caesar salad. My wife had the egg plant was poor. To her it tasted like soap. She truly enjoyed eggplant. The food is way over priced for St. John....So many other choice to pick this one.More

Stand by my review 100%. Worst value in St John. No I haven't had too much sun, I went for dinner and was disappointed. If you went and had a different experience that's great.

I'm sure you can find something gluten-free. Most of their seafood small plates would be gluten free. The homemade mozzarella, the salad. Etc. and they are very nice so if you call ahead in sure they can help you.
