The Tap Room is the location of St. John Brewers brewery and brew pub. We create award winning beers and sodas on location at our brewery that supplies our 24 draft line brew pub. Come relax in our A/C bar or two outdoor patios while enjoying your day on St. John. Our food menu has something for everyone from our fresh salads, delicious fish tacos, or warm Bavarian pretzels. There are plenty of great menu options served with a cold draft beer, homemade soda, or local fruit infused cocktails.

Another great meal

I ran 8 Tuff Miles yesterday and were out in back of the Tap Room for the 9th mile after party. Although the beer and snacks were good at the after party, it ended right around dinner time. My wife and I walked upstairs to the Tap Room and were seated right away. My wife and I ordered drinks and the garlic cheesy bread for an appetizer. Yummy cheesy bread. For dinner my wife had the Veggie Heaven pizza and I had the Caribbean Jerked Chicken Sandwich. Both were good and filling. My wife wound up taking some of her pizza home with her. Since we ordered our meals and drinks during happy hour, my beer was $1.00 off and my wife’s pizza was $5.00 off. Always a great time at the Tap Room!

Great food and drinks

I was looking for local brew while down here, all St. Thomas breweries were closed. Tried the tap room and was extremely satisfied. We had tried the house brewed root beer previously and loved it, so my son got the ginger beer and was equally happy. Our Server, Maddie was excellent, she was fast to get refills and offered great suggestions. She offered my wife the strawberry lemonade. It was delicious and you did not notice the rum, so be careful. Tried three brews, summer ale, amber and mango ale. All were tasty and refreshing. Great island beer. Ordered pretzels and pizzas. Food was served quick and tasted great. Definitely an island winner. The restaurant is decorated tastefully with all the brewing equipment upstairs but visible through the plexiglass wall.

A quick visit made for a great day !!!!

Took a water tender over from St. Thomas to do a little shopping. After the shopping, we came across the Tap Room for lunch. It did not disappoint us. We asked about the beers and we’re given samples to try before we bought what we liked. The server was very knowledgeable about the Beers and the sandwiches. The group was impressed with the sandwiches and noticed that a lot of the people were getting pizza. Then it was back to Saint John.

As a person that comes to the islands every year, about 3 years ago we found St. John Brewers and the tap room bar. Every year we make it a point to come to this little hot spot. However this year I did like I usually do, go downstairs at their gift shop and buy a sign. The lady down there wasn’t much for talking, but I got my sign anyways. Very thirsty I went up to the tap room and got a table for 6 people. Sitting down and looking at the menu the prices went up, $6.50 for a beer. It took 10 minutes for one of the waitresses to acknowledge us. She asked us what we wanted us to drink. I asked her if I could sample a beer on the menu, she said there is no longer free sample now they are charging $2.50 for a 5oz sample beer. Not the most friendly with us my dad ordered a beer and I said I would try it, it took another 10min to have her come back and get my order. I just have to say, I miss the local bar and friendly atmosphere. I also wish they would offer free samples, as a new drinker I am still trying to find a beer that I like. Sometime people get to big, but I was hoping the friendly staff would have stayed. I will be looking for another bar that has a friendly and willing to acknowledge us in the future.

Dear Matt E, I thank you for your review and for visiting our establishment. I apologize you were not happy with your overall experience at The Tap Room, and that the customer service was subpar to you there, and at the Brewtique as well. That is something that I will most certainly address, and I am sorry again that was an issue. Separately, we pride ourselves on producing a wide array of craft beers and homemade sodas, that span a vast flavor profile, but are also extremely reasonably priced for the consumer. Since we live on an island in the middle of the Caribbean, all of our ingredients must be shipped in (not just for our beer, but for almost all products on St. John), so as a business, to help cover those costs, we charge prices that are necessary, yet are still extremely fair to the customer. Considering the amount of effort, time, energy, and love that goes in to producing all of our beers, we stand by the incredibly reasonable prices we set, for top-notch quality beverages, on one of the most beautiful islands in the world. Hopefully on your next visit, you will give us another try, and enjoy one of our flights of beer (which offers you multiple samples, to help you figure out which styles of beer you like, for not only our brewery, but others you will travel to in the future). Horrible Service and Mediocre Food

We went to lunch at 1:05 pm amd despite my telling.one of our servers tbat we had paid for 90 minutes of parking, it took 1 hour amd forty minutes to get thru a simple lunch. The staff seem very disinterested and when you try to get their attention, they pretend not tp notice. I had to physically get up to track someone down to get refills on ourdrinks and later at the one hour plus into our visit, to ask about our food. A table near us came in 30 minutes after us and they were served around the same time as us. The food was ok although my wife's jerk chicken was dry.... almost as if had been ready for awhile and had been forgotten. Also, their chairs are VERY uncomfortable and aren't made for 100 minutes of sitting!We've had a great experience in St Johns but today's visit tothe Tap Roomput a major damper on our experience today.

Went there for dinner one night and our food was just OK. I got a ceasar salad with grilled chicken and was luckey to get 5 or 6 very small bite size pieces (very small). Two people ordered the volcano burger which were missing the jalapenos and although the mac and cheese was very good it came out cold. The service was good at first then declined (I think she had a long day) but the drinks were very good.

Great beer, but...

I'd come back again for a beer, but not for dinner. Beer options were great, but the food was barely passable. Burgers were overcooked, the bun way too big (burger was lost between the thick bread), and the potato chips on the side were crumbs like from the bottom of the bag. With all the five star reviews, maybe we ordered the wrong thing. Friendly service was a plus.

One of the many reasons our burgers are the best, is because they are always temped properly, and the bun is a different style than other establishments. With that said, I’m very sorry that the burger you had was overcooked, and the bun was not to your liking. I would love for you to come back on your next visit and give us another chance, to show you our food is of high quality, and delicious. I’m happy to hear you enjoyed the beers and our friendly service, as we strive to achieve excellence in both of those areas as well. Looked forward to a good afternoon BUT....

Looked forward to a good afternoon lunch. However, the Service was not very good. Server was very slow and not very attentive. Paid extra for grilled broccoli and it was served cold (sent it back and got a hot one which was very good). Had to get up and request cutlery and water. Pizza was good, but due to the poor service, The Tap Room wasn’t a good experience. Not sure I’d come back. The beer was great but since our server never came back to ask if we wanted any more, we left!! To add insult to injury, it took us forever to get the bill

By far The WORST SERVICE I have received in years.

The food here is fine, good pizza for the kids and tacos were fine. However the waitress and hostess seemed lost on how to do there jobs. This restaurant was not in the weeds or busy. The dinning room was at best 1/2 full. There was a table of 6/7 regulars or friends of the staff at a the table over from us that every member of front of house staff visited with, to chat with, cry with (not kidding) or do shots with. It took 10 minutes per request minimum. I had to get up 3 separate time to ask for either food or check. When our food came out after 2 tables that were seated after us, our waitress told us it’s because our order went in at the same time as them. I’m not sure she understood this shouldn’t happen if your table is sat prior and ordered first. After we waited another 10 minutes for our check I walked up To the bar area (9 steps I counted) with our cards and handed them to her to speed up the process of leaving. This was a big mistake as she charged the wrong check with our cards. This got us another 20 minutes waiting for her to fix the mistake. Then telling us that they were working with a new system and there were no managers there who could help. At the point of leaving 1 kid was in tears and one was falling asleep. I have worked service industry for years as staff and management. If you make a mistake own it ASAP don’t try to hide it from guest and DO NOT hang out with your friends on the floor in front of guest waiting for there food, drinks and check!

In these times with constant changes in regulations for businesses, which are especially hard and cumbersome on restaurants, we are definitely working through new procedures, new systems, and safety measures to ensure customers have a safe and enjoyable visit. This may result in some wait times, though we try and keep them as minimal as possible. We take all of our feedback very seriously and will talk to our team about your concerns and what you experienced. We would encourage you to give us another try to see what a visit to The Tap Room really is like: a casual and welcoming place to relax and enjoy great company, great food, great beer, and of course to take advantage of what Island life is all about on the beautiful island of St. John.

Great food, Great Service

This is always on our list when we are in St Johns. In fact, this trip we ate there twice! Never had any of their beers (except for their awesome homemade Root Beer) but we always get the pulled pork nachos. We've actually stopped in before just to get the nachos. All of their food is good and if you go during happy hour you can get a good deal on their pizza. The staff is always super friendly and helpful. Wouldn't leave the island without stopping at the Tap Room!

The food and service is excellent. After a long day at the beaches, we were washed out and a bit dehydrated. The server recognized this and brought us glass after glass after carafe of water. We did not need to ask. The caesar salad with chicken is ample size and delicious. The entire staff throws off good vibes with the customers. A fun place. It's less chic but FAR better than the nearby Longboard that does not serve draft beer!

We seemed to cross by Mongoose junction everyday and several times stopped in for a snack, meal or beer. They have a good happy hour too. Definitely a great place to enjoy a couple beers if anyone wants to shop in the stores and you'd rather relax with a beer.

Ate lunch while saying a day tour on St. John. Restaurant is located on the top floor at Mongoose Junction. Food was very good. I had the Caribbean jerk chicken sandwich which was very good. My wife had a cheeseburger that she enjoyed and the boys split a pizza that also was very good. Several beers on tap along with seltzer’s, and brewed root beer. They restaurant had the smell of beer brewing. Overall a very good lunch.

Went for happy hour with $5 off pizzas! Meat lovers pizza was amazing, and the wings a must try. They are delicious! The bread they put they sandwiches and burgers on is so worth it. My friend that was with us had the flight of beers and spoke very highly about them. We will be back in February!!!

Heard great reviews and thought this was a MUST to go to!!! We went on a Sunday afternoon well before Super Bowl started to flight tasting and order food to take back to our condo for the game. The actual tasting was great!!! We sampled 12 craft beers that we beautifully presented. Our waiter was a young man that had great knowledge on the beers. We also orders 3 pretzels to have with the beers. We sampled the beers then made choices on what we wanted to purchase by a growler. At this time we also ordered to go food. While the young man was taking our order, he stopped 3 times to great people at the door then came back to our table saying he it was buddies that he had not seen in awhile. Once our ordered was placed, we waiting for approx one hour. We waited outside due to the bar getting load and crowded. I checked several times and they kept saying soon. Once they brought it out to us, I asked if everything was in the order. The young lady said yes, tripled checked. We caught a taxi back to the condo and realized the beer we paid for was not given to us. We had to ask our taxi driver to turn around and go back so we could get our beer. My husband went to get the beer and then was given the cheese for our nachos. Very disappointed in service. The young blast said they were short staffed and the owners was out of the area. This is a you problem, not a me problem. We spent $242 there, not cool for poor service.
