Stopped in around 130pm and got the last pate left for the day. They open in the morning and close when they run out of food. So don’t go too late. The need pate we got was my fave one we had the entire trip.

We had a few visits to Hercules Pate. Their Johnny Cakes are pretty darn good. My kid loved her saltfish pate. My mad love for this spot goes to the owner for serving bush tea. I started 3 mornings sipping their hot brew. It brought...me back to my days living in Antigua. Sitting at the table, chatting with the locals was a delight. Such a fun spot all around.More

Get in touch with the local favorites. You must stop and get at least once during your stay. Veggie, fish or meat. Great no matter what.

Stopped in for lunch and had fried chicken and beef pate, with a cold one. True comfort food! Very reasonable and delicious! Don’t overlook Hercules!

When you sell only one thing and you've survived a fire and have become a Cruz Bay institution, well...it's impressive. Hercules is a locally owned eatery serving the best pates on St. John. Good folks, yummy pates and a must when visiting Love City.

Consistently terrific! Have been eating these pates for years - same great taste year in and year out. Great for a snack or to pack for the beach. Get there early before they sell out!

Totally local place but step in and order. Eat it there or carry out. Local Caribbean dishes and drinks. You can’t beat the value. Not big on looks but it’s clean and great food. Can’t beat the prices.. Local food

If you want a tasty treat, this place is worth stopping by a few times during the day. The saltfish pate’ is incredible, throw in an ice cold Ting and it’s one of the best things the island has to offer!!

When you see someone walking to the early ferry with a grease stained paper bag, you know they have pate from Hercules. Fry bread filled with beef, chicken, goat, fish, conch, whelks, or whatever he has available is a tasty change up. My daughters go...for the johnnycake, which is the plain fried quick bread. Fried chicken leg is another favorite.More

When you think of Pate', you think of French cuisine and liver. This is NOT that kind of pate'! It is more like an empanada-type dish but oh, so good. Hercules Pate' is open at 5 a.m. to feed the ferry workers or perhaps the...tourist who stayed at happy hour a little too long. Ask what they have each day, typically beef, chicken and saltfish but have also seen conch and a few other varieties. At $4 each, they are the antidote to the overpriced fare in some other places. Give Hercules a try, you'll be glad you did!More

Enjoyed the beef and saltfish, and some johnnycakes. Not sure what kind of fish exactly, but it was appropriately fishy- and salty-tasting, and delicious. Open at 5am for locals heading to the ferry for work or hungover/lost tourists. We were there after the presumed morning...rush, around 9am, and the pate was still moist and fresh-tasting. Definitely recommended as a local flavor and antidote to overpriced touristy fare.More
