We had no idea how good the food was before we stopped. But, wow! Tuna, Pad Thai main courses are excellent. Try the Mango Gazpacho, even if you are not a fan of cold soups. Friendly service, great island vibe.
Dinner here was great. Very relaxed island atmosphere, good music, friendly staff. per requirements they were following government social distancing and mask guidelines. Lots of locals appear to frequent this establishment.
Menu is appropriately varied for different tastes.
We all ordered the Pad Thai as...it is recommended as the fan favorite and family recipe. We were not disappointed. I love a good Pad Thai, and this was amazing. Both the Shrimp and chicken versions were exceptional, and the spices!! WOW!!
Tasty drinks and yummy appetizers are offered. Very reasonable prices as well for portions received.
We will be returning again before we leave for home.More
Note: Now called Rhumb Lines but the sign has to say Indigo Grill until the island administration grants them the proper paperwork... We had an incredible meal here! The Thai Curry Coconut Chicken Soup was delicious! Be sure to have it “Black Jesus Style” with...rice.. Will be back just for this soup! The Mojo pork was perfectly done and the Mahi with rice and plantains was fabulous! Drinks were well-made! Our server, Kiki, was delightful! The Passionfruit-Mango Cheesecake was light and creamy! Can’t wait to return! Thank you for a wonderful evening!More
We ate here 3 times last week. Many places in Coral Bay are not open on a regular basis. The food is good, and the outdoor seating is nice. If you go 5-6pm they have good Happy Hour Specials at the Bar.
Indigo (actually called Rhumb Lines now) was incredible. So many of the bar bites sounded amazing, so we ordered several of those along with the scallops appetizer, the app of the day, which was pork potstickers, and the seared tuna to share. Each and every...bite was amazing. This was one of the best meals we’ve had in a long time. Also, the place has a great tropical/festive vibe while still being appropriate for this level of food. We sat at a table, but if you sit at the bar, their happy hour offers drinks and bar bites at a discount. We’ll remember that for next time.
This restaurant would be successful in any foodie city. It’s that good.More
EXCELLENT. We had the salmon and the lamb dishes. WOW!!!! In fact the food here was #1 of all the places we dined at on St. John AND on St. Thomas over the two weeks of our vacation.
Hi Will! Its John and Niki here....Our host Will was awesome and made it the perfect experience. He even expedited our order due to my anxiety to drive the mountain road to our villa ..after dark. We ate and got home before dark. Thanks again Will! You definitely helped to make Indigo a "must do" on our every visit to the islands.
See you soon.More
This place is called Rhumb Lines now. We stopped by for brunch on Saturday and went back a few days for dinner. Brunch was good. Dinner was excellent. We both had fresh fish choices (tuna and mahi mahi) for dinner, with flavorful sides like fried...plantain, pineapple salsas, fresh greens. The service is prompt and friendly. The cocktails are delicious. I had a Painkiller that was wonderful.More
This restaurant is now called Rhumb Lines, but many still refer to it as Indigo Grill. It is better than Indigo Grill was. We had crab cakes and shrimp pad Thai. The crab cakes were heavy on the crab and nicely flavored. We asked to...share the shrimp dish, so they brought it out in two bowls. Both of us had more than we could finish. The dish was delicious and laced heavily with shrimp.
We later learned of a Friday happy hour and returned for half price for drinks and a limited (barely) menu of appetizers and entrees. Wow! We had spring rolls, shrimp (2 of the 3 versions offered), and chicken quesadillas. We went back for more spring rolls. Next time I'll skip the quesadilla and go for more spring rolls and shrimp - not because there's anything wrong with the quesadilla. No quesadilla can compete with those spring rolls and shrimp. Someone in the kitchen knows what they are doing. Speaking of which, the bartender also knows what he is doing. We went for the rum punch and - well - Wow again.More
It can't be easy to operate a restaurant on St John, especially on the quiet Coral Bay side. With the few restaurants in or around the village now closed for the season, or closed for good (since Hurricane Irma) it's especially admirable that someone is...trying.
Appreciation aside, Rhumb Lines at what was formerly just-plain Indigo, and yrs before that, Donkey Diner, was a disappointment.
The appetizer pot stickers were excellent. Although we've previously had the delicious pad thai, on this hot humid night, we craved salads. Big mistake. We ordered a beef salad and a blackened shrimp salad. There were 4-5 medium-sized shrimp but they tasted ok. The beef however was undercooked and gristly. Despite menu descriptions of dressings unique to each salad, the dressings were identical, and not very good.
For company, we had a swarm of mosquitoes. The helpful serve offered us a pour from a bottle of his handmade natural mosquito repellent which unfortunately, did little to prevent the mossies' bites. ( I've been in outdoor tropical restaurants before, including on St John, but never encountered this many. Perhaps it was the humid weather, but mayb ethe island exterminator has a solution.)
A plaintively meowing cat sat at our feet, rubbing occasionally against my legs when its begging noises didn't result in a shrimp handout.
Stick with the potstickers and pad thai, cover yourself with extra-strength insect repellent, maybe start with a strong alcoholic drink, and you'll be fine here.More
We enjoyed our meal at Indigo Grill very much. Service was wonderful and the food was by far the best meal of our trip. Each dish well seasoned and cooked to perfection.
We sat outdoors and the setting couldn’t be more perfect. Highly recommended establishment!
