After a long day of traveling, with 2 kids, we were happy to sit down to dinner. Thankfully we were seated fairly promptly and dinner was welcoming. The live music was wonderful too. I have some allergies and they handled them just fine, my roasted salad appetizer was very flavorful. Everyone enjoyed their meal and it was a nice start to our vacation.

Though currently the restaurant is only doing pickup there are a couple of lovely small tables where you can sit and eat. Always a favorite, even during these difficult times the kitchen turned out some delicious choices. I usually do not order fish tacos as the fish is usually awful. Here they perfectly grilled a large piece of Mahi Mahi and the cole slaw was vinegary and perfect. Also had the pesto aioli chicken sandwich which was delicious. And their fries were perfection. Hopefully on my next visit they will be fully open.

Group of five for dinner. They got some of our drink orders wrong, which they were very happy to correct. Drinks were good, not great. For appetizers, they were out of wings. Had the hummus, which was good. Wedge salad was good, though there was something that I could not chew - either the onions or the bacon. The romaine salad was not very good. Entrees included the shrimp, which was ok. The shrimp itself was pretty tasty and well-prepared. The vegetables were quite overcooked and the rice was undercooked - it had quite a few grains that were very hard to chew. Burger was good. Service overall was pretty slow, but hey, it is the islands, right? The policy of the restaurant is to add 20% service charge, but the waiter backed it out of our bill explaining that he didn't agree with that policy. Our waiter was quite friendly and gave good advice on what to and not to order, which I really appreciate. Nearly $300 for five, with one drink each, entrees, and a couple appetizers/salads. So, definitely island pricey. I would say that given the overall quality of food on this end of the island, it is pretty good.

We came here many times in the past (back in 2011, 2012, and 2013) but hadn’t been back in more than five years. It used to be our favorite restaurant on the island, but this time we were really disappointed. The service wasn’t very good. We ordered a bottle of wine and were served one that was already opened, leading us to believe it had been opened before either for someone else or, worse case scenario, didn’t contain the original wine (since it tasted really bad). I usually grin and bare it, but this just seemed very suspicious to both my husband and I. After asking for a different bottle, the server obliged but then acted really put-out by us and rarely attended to us. In fact, we had trouble finding her when we wanted some water. In addition, whereas we used to love coming here on Fridays for ponzu tuna, I found the tuna to be stringy and grainy. Not sure if it was just an off night for the restaurant, but we were very disappointed.

First off the server was wonderful and was caught in a no win situation. We were looking forward to a fun relaxing evening with great food and hit it off with her right away. We ordered blackened shrimp and pork tacos and the priciest white wine they had. The shrimp, which arrived incorrectly and not blackened at all, and were barely lukewarm with actually cold rice and broccoli. The pork tacos were also lukewarm at best. We asked for the shrimp to be reheated and they arrived back only slightly warmer, still not blackened and STILL cold rice and broccoli. The chef who was jokingly “in charge” was hoping he could discount the shrimp dish 50% and think that was acceptable for a beyond subpar dining experience. After some very rude back and forth, and his beyond lack of any semblance of customer service we agreed to pay for the wine and wished him “good luck”. He did his best to insist WE were wrong! This place has only been back open a couple of weeks and one would think they would want to do everything possible to make people happy and our server did do her absolute best given the situation she was put in. Then we watched the chef literally go to the next door convenience store and buy a packaged chocolate muffin and an ice cream cone and poured some chocolate and whipped cream on it and thought that should make us happy for everything else that was wrong with the $125 dinner. He even said how nice the “presentation” was for the “$17 free dessert” he was giving us! If you are reading this and scratching your head, believe me it happened. We understand Covid and all the challenges but either rise to the occasion or graciously admit you had a really bad night. Someone told us the chef quit the night before and then came back on this night, which validated the reality of the sad situation we were in. The couple next to us had an equally bad experience. We have been to Aqua happily many times over the last few years but the owner might want to take notice and get involved. This was definitely not the kind of experience any business owner would be proud of.

Ugh, I wanted this to be so good based on what I’ve heard & read...but it was anything but! Waitresses couldn’t be bothered. Too annoyed to do any work at all. Annoyed with all the customers, we could hear them the whole time we were there since we were next to th pick up window. We had No napkins, no plates with the app. Asked three times but has to get up & get them myself. She forgot to put in our order for dinner & came back to the table half hour after our calamari to ask us what we wanted to eat...again. Calamari was crappy, cold marinara served in a plastic container (again no napkins). Dinner came over an hour later. No drink until halfway through dinner. This was our night out after cooking at our villa all week. Don’t bother going...nobody cares about food or service here. Pretty lousy since we have a house here & limited options. Will never go back.

We drove over to Coral Bay to dine here based on the good reviews and to see the other side of the island. We were extremely disappointed. We were seated promptly enough and served very average drinks and one OK appetizer. And that's as far as we got. After we had waited almost an hour for our food and noticed that all the other tables had theirs, we started asking questions. No one was especially helpful, but we finally learned that there had been a computer glitch and our order had just been turned in. Faced with another wait, we decided to leave. We thought that, given the inconvenience, it would have been nice of them to offer some compensation, but when this was suggested they became extremely aggressive, to the point of almost throwing us out. Furthermore, the staff were quite uninterested in making sure that the dishes served to the member of our party who has celiac disease were gluten free, saying that was too much bother. I can't say much about the food because we barely had any, but we will definitely not be returning to this restaurant.

Website stated this restaurant served brunch. There was no brunch and the person at the bar acted like I was crazy. Think you need to update it so you don't waste people's time going to your restaurant. We did end up getting conch fritters since we were hungry. The fritters came out burned. We left hungry and disappointed.

We sat at the bar both hungry and thirsty from the morning at Salt Pond Beach. We were handed filthy menus. I started off with a rum punch. She didn’t know how to make it. Luckily, a nice Irish man came to her rescue and made my drink. We ordered conch fritters, fish tacos, and a cheeseburger. Shortly after people on each side of us ordered food as well. One lady asked the first “bartender” for a cup of ice while she was bleaching some rags. She simply dropped the rags and scooped up a cup full of ice (hand in the ice) and passed it right over to the patron without batting an eye. My husband wanted to say something, but I asked him not to. The other guest that has ordered food to our right brought out our conch fritters. I think she knew them and was trying to help. Another lady from across the bar went behind the bar trying to help as well. They weren’t even busy. The few guests around us were receiving their orders even though we had ordered before them. The conch fritters were not great. The sauce was so salty I needed another drink but didn’t get waited on. Therefore, we were both considering leaving because it was just not going well. The little bartender guy asked if we wanted our check. I said we haven’t even seen our food yet. He apologized and then the Irish guy came from the kitchen with no food again. My husband was irate. We left so disappointed and I just felt sorry for the place. It is in an exceptional location. A good bar/restaurant should be thriving there. We will never return to Aqua Bistro and will warn people about it. Hopefully, they will get some good management and turn what has potential in a positive direction.

My family and I tried this place one evening in January 2023, mainly because of the location. BIG MISTAKE. We were served soggy edamame with dipping sauce for starters. (How does that even work??? Please, someone tell me, how does one dip edamame?) Our entrees were mahi-mahi and the fish was so dry. Also cold because it took 10 minutes before we got our silverware. The dessert was basically a super dry, tasteless cinnamon roll. On top of that, the entire meal cost double what it should have cost. Worst meal of our USVI vaction by far. Thankfully my family is awesome so we were able to laugh about how ridiculously bad it was and how pompous the chef is. Literally, like a rooster strutting around.

Aqua Bistro used to be so good! Not sure what changed. We were here March of 2021 and had a great experience. The menu seems to be the same but the food is absolutely not. “Seasonal veggies” were just steamed from a bag, chicken wasn’t completely done, rice seemed to be prepackaged also. The service was so bad, half of our party never got drinks or food. They had no real silverware, and we had ordered chicken breast so had no way to cut it. Food was served on red plastic plates. I felt bad for the one person who was actually trying to help us, she was almost in tears. Anyway, don’t go here. Used to be a nice and sort of fancy place but not anymore. Will not go back.

Had a wonderful brunch outside today. The food was plentiful and taste amazing. We did the weekend brunch for $25, it was a appetizer, entree and dessert. The view was relaxing and service great. Look at the size of that chicken pot pie!

LJL & I are at an airbnb perched on a hill in Coral Bay above the Aqua Bistro. We walked down and sat at the bar, and ordered drinks. I had tried their rum punch earlier, and nope. It tastes like Hawaiian punch, for those of you as ancient as I. But their dark and stormy is just dandy. The vibe- open air restaurant with a circular bar, casual and comfortable. Locals and tourists. LJL had the wedge salad, which he tucked into happy to have fresh vegetation. Conch strips battered, which came with callaloo & okra in a bowl. (think escarole soup) but spicy and delicious. I got fish & chips. The batter looked burnt but tasted great, for fried food which I avoid but hey I'm on vacation. The conch salad was served like a ceviche and was a decent portion and delicious. Drunk locals and goats provide entertainment.

The views are amazing sitting and looking over Coral Bay. The food was good but not spectacular. The Grouper sandwich is what the place is known for and one of our group (no pun intended) had it and really loved it - The conch fritters are also well know and were also really good. The rest of the fare was good but not remarkable (five of us were there). The staff was cordial but not particularly friendly.

We arrived at the beautiful backdrop that is Aqua Bistro at 6:30 PM. Owners, Jamie and Philip greeted us warmly. The atmosphere and ambience were exactly what we wanted and hope for in a Coral Bay experience. I have been coming here for as long as I can remember, first, with my grandfather, then, with my mother, then, with my children, tonight with my wonderful wife. To drink I had a painkiller, and Jen had a Sea Breeze. For dinner, we had the jerk chicken sandwich with mango chutney, and turned out to be a double cheeseburger. The food was perfectly cooked and accompanied with fresh, hot french fries. Great atmosphere, great music and great company. Highly recommend Aqua Bistro for couples, friends, big groups.
