Fabulous place moist fresh cake, delicious scones with jam and cream, and no cheap tea or coffee served here. Service with a smile deserves the great reviews.

You would never believe that the modest little black and white directions to The Old Barn on the roadside would take you to such a beautiful tea rooms. Scones freshly out of the oven, a Welsh cake, jam, clotted cream and a half round of sandwich was the very best lunch you could wish for. Surrounded by forest and miles from... More

My mother and I, took my nan out for an afternoon tea to celebrate my birthday, the surroundings were beautiful, and very easily accessible, as my nan is in a wheelchair. We all had a selection of the home made sandwiches, scones and cake all washed down with pots of tea and coffee, everything was fresh and delicious. They had... More

After trekking Talybont reservoir and Pen-y-fan a comfort break was sorely needed. There were signs saying 'tea rooms 1 mile' 'tea rooms ½ mile' etc. Finding this stone built barn set in such beautiful surroundings was a blessing. We felt honour bound to buy a cup of tea but we were short of cash. The cakes looked amazing and the... More

Good tea, good cake and friendly staff was just what was needed after a tough 12 miles over the Beacons in the mist! Just happened to see a sign so went to find the place and wasn't disappointed!

Superb location, superb service and superb afternoon tea, the icing on the cake was the fine bone china used. Traditional tea, home made scones accompanied by good clotted cream and fresh made to order sandwiches. The ladies make you feel welcome and nothing is too much trouble. Will certainly return for seconds, thirds......................

Had a lovely afternoon tea with my wife at the old barn tea room. There was a lovely atmosphere which complemented our tea. The young waiter and waitress deserve mention as well. No doubt we will return as it has it all, location, quality of the food, and friendly staff.

What can you do but Sing their praise about this place! A great place to visit after a walk to Pen y Fan. A lovely spot in the sun, proper tea with strainer and what a size of teapot! Fantastic cream tea and the most helpful, friendly staff and all at reasonable prices. Been twice and vowed to bring family... More
