This is a great oasis for a good beverage and pleasant conversation in a sea of shopping in downtown Charlotte Amalie. Lucy was great - met everyone’s requests and ran a very efficient bar and lounge. She was super helpful and made sure everyone was attended to and was having a good time. Stop for a quick drink, or stay for several. If you spend $100+ in the front shop (Patagonia, Billabong and many others), you get a buy one get one at the Taphus.

Lynn, you are correct in every way. Taphus Beer House is most certainly a haven from the hustle and bustle of downtown and always provides an unparalleled experience for the customer. Great bar located in downtown Charlotte Amalie. The back bar has historical roots and is beautiful. The bar serves a large selection of beers on tap, and their canned seltzer selection is one of the best I've had! Every Wednesday they have free tapas provided by a local restaurant, and the first Friday of every month is a fundraiser party with a DJ, with the side street closed for pedestrian traffic only.. A must do stop for any visitors to St Thomas!

Excellent Customer Service
While taking a walk around St. Thomas, USVI, we found this beautiful tap house. Service was great. Beer was delicious. They even had a sour beer that tasted like the green Jolly Rancher!

Taphus staff could not have been less interested or ruder. Getting a drink in a quiet bar was hard just to get bar staff attention. Having poured our drinks in plastic glasses - she assumed the drinks were to go - we asked for glass glasses. She reluctantly got the glasses and put them on the bar for us to decant our own drinks. The two staff were more interested in talking loudly to each other. We will not be returning. Only 2 beers were their own.

This is a fabulous little gem situated in a building built in the 1700's. The owner, Jose, was there, and spoke about the history of the building and the very beautiful work he did on the interior. Atmosphere is dark and moody (in a good way), and you feel somehow transported. Beer selection is excellent, both bottled and draft beers. Good wine selection too. It is located just off of the main shopping street, making it a lovely and convenient option. Loved it!!

Great spot for beer, cocktails, and mocktails alike. Bartender Lucy is very lively and knowledgeable. She is great at inventing drinks and making the classics, and has great recommendations around the island. The building itself has a very comfortable blend of history and modernity. Taphus is my go to tap house.

Taphus is a great "hole in the wall" bar in the back of a shop in downtown Charlotte Amalie. The building looks to be part of the original fortifications and is a great relaxing way to get out of the sun and enjoy a beverage. They have local beers on tap and a good variety of bottled beer. Marissa can make a mean cocktail. Don't miss stopping in here on your next visit.

My husband and I stopped several times and always had a great time. The beer is excellent, the atmosphere fun and the bar keepers entertaining. There are several beers to choose from but the island brews were our favorites. Be sure to stop for a pint you won't be disappointed!

I didn't expect to find anything like this on an island. This is a world class beer bar. They do all the other drink things really well too, but they have an amazing selection of awesome beers.. The atmosphere is super cool! All stone work inside and the owners repurposed a lot of things that used to be on other places on the island.
We had so much fun at this bar. My husband and I went several times on our month long trip. We met so many fun people there and had so many great interactions. The staff, especially Marissa were incredible! Outstanding spot. 10 out of 10 experience.

Taphus was just what we were looking for! What a great time! Beers were awesome as well as the MaiTai’s. Alex took care of us and was great! We were on a cruise so we were only there for a half of the day but we spent a few hours at Taphus! Highly recommend!!!!

Such a great spot! Used to be my favorite hidden gem - but they have expanded and it’s now a really cool large spot! Go for First Friday - I missed it this trip - lol

Watched the first NFL game of the year. Unfortunately Green Bay lost to the division rivals (I am a Commanders fan). Fun drinks and laughs had by all !

What a great find this was while we were on a NCL cruise... we just stumbled onto it and stayed hours enjoying talking to the employees and the owner ,,,, This is a class act super clean and great drinks ... Cheers

Great local beer selection. Great atmosphere. Highly recommend getting a flight sampler so you can try them all. Staff is super kind and fun as well as super sweet with kids. They offer local made root beer and fun snacks for littles making it feel very family friendly. Also, great merchandise!
