I’ve driven by Red Hook so many times for the ferry and had no idea anyplace this cute was tucked in there! We were staying at the Ritz and they are renovating one of the restaurants and ended up sending a taxi of us over here instead. This place is so stunning, service and food were all top notch- loved the wine selection and the tapas were perfection. This place is MUCH better than the restaurant at the Ritz so definitely hop a taxi and check it out. Prices were also so reasonable for this very high level of quality. I wish we’d gone twice, there’s so much I wanted to try,

My wife and I were recently on the east end staying at Sapphire Beach, so Red Hook was easily accessible. One evening walking around and hitting the usual haunts, we noticed the ambiance of the Easterly and decided to make a reservation due to the whole customer limit issues with Covid.
We arrived and were warmly greeted and seated by a caring hostess. Then greeted by a friendly server whom promptly brought us drinks, shared the specials and personal favorites (not just everything is good which can bother me).
We were never rushed, but made to feel comfortable to enjoy our time.
The food was thoughtfully prepared, treated with care and artful in presentation, portions were ample; but most importantly delicious. We shared a couple appetizers, and then shared the whole fish 1 1/2 lb was great for 2.
The whole experience was unexpectedly wonderful from front to back. Will return again.

We chose The Easterly to spend our last night in St Thomas after a week on the Island and it did not disappoint.
We arrived just as happy hour was ending; we started with a round of specialty cocktails and a few appetizers (ahi poke and flatbread) at happy hour prices. We also got a round of oysters with 3 different toppings. For the main course, we ordered the Day boat catch, tuna, the whole fish special among other things. We ended the night with a selection of desserts to share. The caramel banana treat, the ice cream, and the fruit and cheese plate were big hits! All of it was excellently prepared and delicious.
Our server Kasandra was fantastic. She took very good care of us throughout the evening -- she even served as our group photographer to capture our memorable evening.
We were very pleasantly surprised to see Greek wine on the wine list - it was a very good match for our seafood meal.
We had asked ahead of time for a table near the water, and they were able to accommodate our request.
They told us they had just opened at the start of 2020, but it is clear they are off to a roaring start. This is a great place in Red Hook for a nice meal, great ambience, and excellent service.

We'd heard from several people that the Easterly was one of the best places to eat on the island and we were really looking forward to a fabulous meal. The ambiance is perfect - I loved the colors, the textures, the lighting - just perfect.
I had a frozen drink that I think was called a SourSop something - not sure exactly, but it was outstanding! If you have been drinking your average pool bar drinks during the week, take note that the drinks at the Easterly have a generous amount of alcohol in them. ;)
My husband ordered the Wahoo but because the portion was rather small, I didn't take a bite. He said it was delicious. I ordered "the smallest lobster tail you have" which was 1.75 pounds. Huge. It was very good.
What was disappointing about the evening is that my husband ordered a special salad (something more elaborate than a house salad) with his dinner which we were going to share. When they dropped off his entree, he remarked that he was supposed to have a salad and the "food dropper" said he would let our waitress know. She didn't come back to our table until we were completely finished eating our meals, even though there were very few table seated by that time, Think about how long it takes to eat a 1.75 pound lobster tail... it was a long time. She was very apologetic about forgetting the salad and kept saying, "this is totally my fault" but it was very too late to really do anything about it. No offer to comp us a dessert or a coffee or take a drink off the bill, just "this is totally my fault." It was disappointing as we would have enjoyed the salad and especially since my husband's meal was so small that I ended up giving him half of mine,

Good enough food, hostess was belligerent and made 20 people wait while tables sat empty. Hostess lacked creativity to rearrange and optimize seating. No drinks offered while we waiting for our late table- yet $25 fee was reinforced in the event we were late which leads to bad feelings quite honestly. Plus waitress forgot our drink order repeatedly; hot and thirsty/. Octopus was over cooked and boring. Pork belly was fatty and awful. Crudo pretty good, lamb excellent. My son enjoyed the bone marrow quite a lot w garlic mushrooms. Banana dessert yummy. Chocolate liloqoui was just ok. I didn’t feel like they cared, sadly.

Six of us dined here on Sunday at 4:45 and were pleasantly impressed with the ambiance and views. Their cocktails were the best we had in our weeks long stay. We tried the oysters, pork belly, flatbread and spreads and the octopus, all which were very good. I ordered the pork rib chop and several ordered the fish special which were all very good. With drinks bill was around $600. Wish I went back for a second trip. Make sure you make reservations early as trying day of or day before will only have early or late availability.

There was 2 of us who had the pleasure of our waitress being Kasandra.
She was very likable and went into great depths of her mother’s desire of pickles. In the end we were swiftly swayed away from the pickles and ordered the $140 two person steak.
In summary, whenceforth, Kasandra deserves a 34% raise (no more, no less) because she makes it a very enjoyable experience for all guests and will be able to use the money for divorce fees.
Any further questions forward to my liaison (ig @marjank23)

Three of us stopped in early to get some drinks and appetizers. It was our first time since it’s opened. The place is really nice inside. It’s bright, open and very comfortable.
The service was quick and friendly.
All three of us thought the menu was wanting for both food and the wine list.
Jeanne had the prawns which were large, cooked right and delicious. Marsha tried the grilled oysters and they were ok. I had the mussels and they were just ok.
They do have a few beers on tap which is great. I had the leatherback reef life and it was delicious.
The main courses look a bit pricey but we didn’t order any so can’t comment further.
Overall I’d say welcome to Red Hook and we’ll be back.

I’ve been fortunate to dine through the menu on my few trips to the USVI and will be returning to the Easterly for years to come. Smiling hostesses have initiated each of my experiences here and the knowledgeable bartenders have taken it from there and sent me on my way content. Give the staff the opportunity to recommend a favorite cocktail or wine and don’t miss the whole fish or wood fired ribeye. A full day on the boat or exploring St. John and stepping off the dock and into the inspired ambiance of the Easterly is a perfect day on St. Thomas.

Would give 3.5 if I could... ambiance was great, food and drinks good, but if you are wanting to relax and enjoy yourself, go elsewhere. We had a reservation at 7:00 (for our 10 year anniversary btw) and were told when we sat down that we had to be OUT at 8:30 bc they were turning table at that time. Ive been to a lot of nice restaurants and never had the “you have to be out in 1 1/2 hour” thing happen before… We felt super rushed and weren’t even sure if we had enough time for a bottle of wine? And then we were told no time for dessert bc they were booked up and we had to go. We were five minutes late upon arrival because we unexpectedly were in a shared cab that made several stops before we got to restaurant - but I don’t think this is why they rushed us, we saw another table get asked to leave because their “time was up” while we were there.
They also sat us at a high table, which was very uncomfortable (no backs to the chairs which was hard on my husband‘s bad back and not fun for me in high heels either) and when we arrived I asked if we could please have a regular table and they said no, even though there were a bunch of tables available and they sat numerous couples after us at low tables.
I am most definitely not a complainer, very rarely do I post a review w anything negative, but I was very surprised/disappointed by this restaurant... not because of the food or drinks just because of the way we were treated.. When we got back to the Ritz and had to have our after dinner drink and dessert there, they were totally taken aback that we weren’t allowed to relax and enjoy ourselves at the Easterly.
Definitely an OK place to go if you’re OK with a quick bite, looking for a romantic dinner that has any longer than 90 min long, I would suggest going elsewhere.

This spot is beautiful. It's brand new and clearly every design detail was well thought out. From oyster and mussel shells in the walls to swings by the bar. The wait staff is gracious, helpful, and knows the menu well. We were super excited to eat here. The menu encourages sharing which we did. We ordered the ceviche special that day, tuna ceviche, garden salad w buttermilk dressing, flatbread w spreads, cauliflower, brussels sprouts, pork belly, and Caribbean lobster. The stand out item flavor wise was the pork belly. And we agreed the ceviche special really outshined the one on the regular menu. Overall the ingredients are wonderful but there is room for improvement on the menu.

Thank you for dining with us and for sharing your experience! It sounds like you had a wonderful time with us, and we certainly appreciate your feedback. As with any new restaurant, we will have many menu edits as we get our feet wet. If you have specific feedback, please let us know. Everything in your review sounded like it was excellent, so we are a bit confused by your title & last statement.

Very few times in our travels, business and personal, do we encounter a spot that we feel truly compelled to visit multiple times. The Easterly is one of the rare finds! We did both a dinner and a Sunday brunch here, and will always visit when on St Thomas. You should as well!
Environment is perfect, all seating is open air, fans and great breezes. Marina and street views. Lighting and design inspire fun, high energy, conversation, but with an intimate feel.
Service was spot on both times, friendly, attentive, guides thru the menus, engaging but not overbearing. Never felt like we needed to rush.
Dinner, made a reservation, and was worth it. Even in Covid era, this place gets hoppin! And it’s obvious why. Had a great experience with Kasandra. She walked us through specials, shared her favorites, answered our questions and accommodated our desires. We luv to slow roll when we find a great place and she flowed with us. From our sipping sparkling to having 3-4 appetizers, to main and finally dessert, she was awesome! Food was well crafted, fresh ingredients, and delicious. Get the whole fish day catch, its worth it.
Brunch was the epitome of ideal brunch. We again had a top experience with Angelina, she shared her favorites, was gracious with our exploration of the menu. As amazing as the craft cocktails were at tables around us, we went with the Brunch Bubbles with selected fresh squeezed fruits. Perfect. We did a ‘tour of toasts’ and tried there avacado, ahi & fresh catch toasts, amazing. AND you must try their hash! Sweet potatoes and fire roasted Brussel sprouts.
Overall, get here. Attire is mid casual to as nice as you want on an island. Would stay away from tank tops guys.

This boutique upscale vibe restaurant, located on the east side of St Thomas, is a nice addition to the many Red Hook dining options.
While bordered by the harbor on one side with a limited number of tables on waters edge, and the main street on the other, all tables are nicely separated from the noise of the always busy town of Red Hook.
We dined after dark so it was difficult to assess the harbors visibility from the main areas of The Easterly.
The food and food service was excellent.
Our server was familiar with the menu and was knowledgeable. He was able to answer our questions and when additional detail was requested, he was not afraid to seek answers.
We enjoyed exploring the varied menu options and decided to detour around the entrees ( which included fresh wahoo, local snapper and Caribbean lobster) and try several of the appetizers and small plates. Food was delicious. Definitely inspired by the chef, the fresh hot locally made flat bread and two hummus options were delicious. We also enjoyed the octopus small plate with seasoned finger potatoes. The octopus was grilled and was also delicious. The baked avocado was a small salad type dish that was equally good. For dessert we had a bananas foster like dish with an extra scoop of vanilla ice cream suggested by our server. Very good.
We viewed the wine menu which is almost always the case in St Thomas, heavily marked up. I believe their afternoon happy hour offers special pricing.
Known for craft cocktails and oysters, we opted for off menu mojitos. They were the best we’ve had on island.
Don’t be afraid to take younger children to The Easterly. There was a table of 8 including children and placed off to the side, seemed to be nicely welcomed and accommodated.
The Easterly is a nice addition to other upscale dining options near Red Hook including Mirador at Point Pleasant and Pangea at Pools and Pavilions.

Went there on a Friday night and had a great meal. Everything was creative and flavorful. The seafood ceviche was delish with the octopus very tender. The pork belly was visually amazing and yummy but wish it was a bit bigger. My hanger steak was the perfect temperature and the yucca fries that came with it was addictive. I also commend the waiter/owner to mention the price of the special because we all want to know the price when buy things, correct? Its a gesture that should be mandatory everywhere. Also, already made reservation to eat there following Wednesday.

We would have left much happier had my request for quiet outdoor seating been fulfilled. It was our 30th wedding anniversary and we could have gone anyplace for dinner but we selected this restaurant after hearing great things from many people.
We had made a reservation about 10 days prior and mentioned on the reservation what the occasion was and that we wanted to sit near the water. Upon walking in we were sat at the very front of the restaurant, it was pretty noisy and honking car horns from the cars along the road.
We wanted to love it and have a great night but it did not turn out that way. I had tuna it was so so, it was supposed to have olives and pumpkin puree and neither were on my plate.
My husband had rib eye steak which was supposed to be "bone in" but there was not a bone and rather fatty, after the fact we were told they were not aware of there was a change and it was a supply chain issue and at $75.00 it would have been to nice to be able to make the choice to stick with rib eye steak or to select something else.
For the money we could have certainly selected a better restaurant.
Our waitress was great and the place is very cool, those are the positives from our evening.
