Each year I visit St. Thomas. There are many fine restaurants on the Island but Virgilio’s is our family favorite. The food is consistently good and the portions are large. The Caesar salad is made table side as is the Banana Foster dessert (flambé). The servers are friendly and attentive. It’s a small place so make a reservation. It’s open for lunch as well if you are shopping in Charlotte Amalie. You won’t be disappointed if you are seeking traditional Italian food.

We recently revisited Virgilio’s after having been there several years ago on a food tour. Then, we loved the cozy, art-centric space and thought the menu looked fantastic. It was the last stop on that tour, though, and we only had dessert (bananas flambé - amazing!). We vowed to return for a full meal the next time we were in St. Thomas.
Our opportunity arose last week and the experience was as great as we hoped it would be! The veal piccata and pollo al limone were authentic and delicious, and the wine list was impressive. The service was attentive and personable. I highly recommend paying a visit to Virgilio’s if you’re in St. Thomas, whether for a date night or a nicer lunch.

My husband and I had a wonderful spontaneous dinner at Virgilio’s on our trip to St. Thomas! We did not have reservations and we were happy to get the last table in the front corner (best table in the house in my opinion!). We got the Caesar salad for two…they make the dressing from scratch right in front of you! It was so good and the salads are huge! We also got the lasagna and asked to split it due to not being extremely hungry. We were pleased when the lasagna came out already split on two plates! You will not regret going to this restaurant! It was our best dinner on the island! I wish I had room for the bananas foster dessert as that looked amazing too!

We were the ere last night and didn’t like it at all. We waited ONE HOUR for one dish and the portion were too small for one person. It’s not worth the price. Almost 200$ for two dishes and dessert. Also only two server and it would all make it even slower. More than 30 min for bread.

Party of 9. Been going here for many many years n have recommended dozens of people to enjoy this food experience but don’t know what has happened to this place with the same personnel working there
Dinner was good with exception of the Ceasar salad lettuce was days old n showed n tasted like it
After dinner n the plates were removed no one came to our table for over 40 mins till I waved to the waitress who asked what she could do
I was like well to start with how about someone asking us if we would like to see a dessert menu
I was like now. She took a verbal of what we wanted including 4 for banana foster
She walked away n we didn’t see her again
Meanwhile the waiter that always took care of was staying at one table by the bar the whole time n taking time to wash glasses not once looking over or taking the time to stop at our table
By this time we were all not happy campers
The place was busy but absolutely no reason for someone to not stop at our table
After another 15 mins I got up and saw the waiter that always took care of us and told him how terrible our service and requested the bill
He delivered the bill real fast
Between the dishes being removed and our extended waiting time all toll over an hour
Very disappointed n would like to know what happened to this place
We will not be coming back to this restaurant

Traveling from Florida to St. Thomas for a 6 day vacation. Parking is terrible and the pizza joint is almost impossible to find. It’s located down an alley so definitely do not go at night. Once be hot all day I was looking for a pizza parlor that was in doors with air conditioning. Well, this spot had air conditioning but it was still warm/ air stiff inside. Sat down and served a tiny glass of coke (I was like seriously). The next table over was celebrating a 11 year old birthday party. The same guy who was serving us (gave us the small coke glass) I think he was the owner and chef he attended the birthday party table doing a ‘how to make a salad demonstration’ which lasted at least 20 min. All the while he never came back to my table. If you are reading this review just go to ‘Pizza Admore’

The food was absolutely horrible, and the servers were completely rushing us and not listening. For both service and food to be terrible was shocking since it had such good reviews. We ended up going across the street to eat and had a better experience.

You don’t feel welcome! I have been there since my last 2 trips ( SAME EXPERIENCE) food is very good , I was by my self and heard from peoples about good food , so I gave it shot one more time , So I did reservation , because on my last trip one of the waiter (SHE) told me no reservation no love, reached there on dot they can’t find my reservations ( same waiter ( probably owner) and somehow they squeezed me in one of the corner table and waited 20’min to get my drink and order ( again I gave them benefit of doubt because it was busy) , I personally felt racism because other waiter( male guy probably husband ) gave me same attitude. …..So for me NO WAY i recommend to my friends who travels through Caribbean , I usually don’t give any reviews, but this one I thought I share my view.

A favorite each time we visit, and again, we had a meal and experience that showed us this is warranted.
Virgilios is in downtown C.A and parking is a little tricky if you are driving. Plan on driving around for maybe 10 to 15 minutes and if you are lucky you can find parking on a side street somewhat near the restaurant. The streets are well lit and seem very safe for a short walk.
This restaurant is a family favorite. Small and intimate with maybe 10 tables, I would think a reservation is warranted for sure. We each enjoyed dinner - one special with Shrimp and homemade pasta, one veal piccata and one veal marsala. My husband had the black bean soup for an appetizer and my MIL had the caprese salad and both looked great.
A pleasant experience and a great meal!

WOW! We are a party of 17 people and have been visiting Virgilios for years - and keep returning! We are never disappointed with the cuisine, service, and atmosphere. Our most recent visit Lola was our server and she was the BEST! The bartender, Albert, was fabulous too. Every appetizer, drink, entree, and dessert that was ordered left us wanting more. We will be back and HIGHLY recommend Virgilios!!!

Four of us had the best food and best time at Virgilio’s. Lola, our funny, entertaining, and efficient server prepared the most delicious Caesar salad I’ve ever tasted at the table. The salad was accompanied by fabulous bread. We all chose pasta specialties—carbonara, lasagna, and four cheese rigatoni. I can honestly say it was the best meal I’ve ever had. This Chianti and the tiramisu were also excellent! Will definitely return!

We never expected to walk through the front door here into a restaurant filled with so much ambiance. Delightful, for sure.
Lola, our server, was terrific. She had a great sense of humor and was very eager to offer recommendations/suggestions and answer our questions.
Our dinners (Eggplant Parmesan and Manicotti) were both light and flavorful. The bread was to-die-for! We took a piece of NY Cheesecake and Tiramisu home with us and both were delicious too.
FYI....parking can be a challenge. Also, it might be good to remember that Monday is (supposedly) their "slow day".

We sat for 30 minutes and no one ever came to our table to even ask us what we wanted to drink. It was very loud and small. We ended up getting up and leaving.
Unless you’re a local and they know you, don’t go because you will not be helped.

Worst restaurant on the entire island. Staff is unpleasant and extremely disrespectful. Gross behaviors from every last one of the employees. Food is below average as one local said to us “it’s Italian food on an island it’s not going to be great” No longer run by the Italian brothers. Worst dinning experience of my entire life. Manager needs to be fired and staff needs proper training.

Excellent food and service! The chef was very accomodating and cooked up a veal frances that was fit for a foodie, absolutely delightful lemon butter and white wine sauce, even though not on the menu. Additionally, the escargot appetizer was superb both in flavor and quantity! My spouse had a chicken fra diabolo over pasta which also excellent and a generous portion. The bartender knew their stuff as well, making excellent cocktails.
