Pleasant surroundings and an especially attentive staff. The curried goat was particularly good, prepared and served with the bones left in for flavor (some mention should be made of that in the menu). I would readily come back again another time.

We stopped in for lunch, and we were very impressed with the service and food. The only unusal thing is you need to bring a dollar for the restroom, but I hear it is a lovely restroom.

A vacation staple is always lunch at Gladys’ Cafe. Everything looks fantastic. As always, food and drink are delicious and plentiful. Be sure to try the Bloody Mary’s. The staff are always so friendly and attentive. We were so glad to be back.

You can get anything to go -
Why isn't the staff friendly? Why are all guests charged $1 for the bathroom? I feel more like I am bothering someone by inquiring about your food and drink selection rather than enjoying the atmosphere and ordering off the menu. There are only a handful of ppl that work at this establishment and no one smiles unless your caucasian. Yet staff is eager for a tip....Then to not have all that's on the menu available and receive mediocre food on top of the poor service. Am I missing something? Also the alcoholic beverages seem more like a ploy to get more money from tourists because there wasn't any alcohol in the drinks I paid for 3x's . I should not hear an excuse about everyone complains about the bar tender... last but not least your portion size of rice is for a child, we are fully aware of portion control but it seems cheap to give your guests 2-3 table spoons of rice compacted to look pretty on a dish, I don't recall being on a diet.. Am I paying for a $20 and up snack or a meal... even highend restaurants give you a better portion than that... I should leave feeling full not hungry... maybe I am missing something because these reviews are very misleading.

Try authentic Caribbean dishes along with traditional American dishes, at breakfast and lunch in an antique brick warehouse in downtown Charlotte Amalie. Sample all three varieties of Gladys' world famous homemade Hot Sauce - it makes great gifts for your spicy-food-loving friends. Wash it all down with fresh fruit coladas, bushwackers or pain killers.
