The Beach Side Café at Sand Castle on the Beach Hotel offers open-air, seaside dining with spectacular views of the Caribbean Sea. Our varied menu offers fresh-catch seafood specials along with American favorites and local flavor. Monday through Friday service begins for lunch at 11am and continues until 3pm. Brunch is served on the weekend from 10am until 3pm and dinner service is 4:30pm until 8:30pm seven days a week. Throughout the week, our bar serves classic cocktails, draft beer and mocktails made from fresh local juices. Sunny lunches and moonlit dinners, topped off with house-made desserts, await you at the Beach Side Café.

On property of SandCastle on the Beach — prices on both drinks and food are extremely fair. Comparable to what you’d pay in the US mainland and in fact drink prices were even cheaper—basically $8-12 per cocktail, and they have a selection of 4 mocktails (no alcohol) which I appreciate.
In addition, the food was delicious, fresh, and well prepared. I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality and artistry of the food served.
Get the mahi bites... normally those wouldn’t appeal to me but just trust me!!!!! They are fresh every day and totally to-die-for. Omg. I’ll dream about them now that we’re gone.

Thought we would have a nice dinner and watch the sunset. Here visiting the island,saw their menu online and they had quite a variety_not! The waitress brought out a menu board with about 6 choices, we asked is there another restaurant here? No,limited menu on tuesday and wednesday, their website does not clarify that,had we known ,we would not of driven over from Pelican bay area. Bummer out no salads,mussels,etc.Settled for a burger with coffee, the coffee was old tasting,pushed it aside,however, the burgers were great,nice and big and juicy and we did enjoy the sunset, so I can't slam this plsce, but! Please update your website!!

Went here for a business lunch and totally enjoyed the freshly caught grilled Mahi Mahi along with a side of coconut rice and red beans. Who doesn't like freshly caught mahi, but I have to say the standout on this dish was the awesome coconut rice. Would come back to this place every day of the week. It's right on the beach so the view of the blue waters of the Carribean can't be beat. Looks like it would be a great place to swim too.

We had a party of 5 with a 3 year old for dinner. We were informed up front that they were out of multiple items and of the specials for the night. We ordered our drinks and appetizers. Our waiter Trevor took our order and proceeded to wait on other tables that came in after us. About 10 min later we received our appetizers. We had no drinks, no plates, no silverware. After we had almost completed our appetizers, we finally received our drinks (after the tables that came in after us had already received their drinks). We asked for silverware and received our plates. About 45 min. later we asked about our food because the child in our group was starving so said he would check. We received 4 of 5 of our meals and all were cold. My husband had ordered the special and we continued to wait for his meal. When it became obvious it was not coming any time soon, we proceeded to eat. I asked our waiter again about the 5th meal. He said he would check. The third time I asked to speak to the manager and our waiter told us then that the kitchen had forgotten to put in our order and offered my husband a side salad while we waited. No one could explain why we weren't informed sooner. The manager went to check on the meal and about 15 min later we were told it should be out shortly so since no one enjoyed their meal since we could not eat together, we asked to have the 5th meal packaged to go. The waiter indicated that they would comp the meal but the manager avoided us almost totally. As we were waiting to get the food, a rat runs across the floor. Yes - a rat - my daughter said it loudly and we all saw it. The manager did come over after this and indicated that the rat had run down the drain as if this is commonplace. There were no apologies, no opportunity for us to give feedback on our service or other meals we were served. I live here on island and will not be back. I have never felt so invisible in a restaurant and such "don't really care" attitude. We had been here for Valentine's day also. I had to return my steak for more cooking and my husband had to eat by himself while my food went back. I live on island and you get used to slow service but this has been the worst ever since living here. The staff were publicly speaking about us and our waiter spent much more time at the table next to us chatting than taking care of customer's assigned. The manager on duty was obviously not going to address me directly and avoided me totally as she was taking care of a single gentlemen (possible boyfriend) instead. Was really hoping to have a "consistent go to" place on the west end but we will continue to look elsewhere.

We walked over from Cottages by the Sea for dinner early one evening. Walked to the host stand, one person in front of us, that gentlemen was happily greeted by the host, the guest asked if there was "room for him tonight" and was seated right away, Host returns, no greeting just, do you have a reservation? We did not, we were told there were no tables available, but we could order to-go. So we walked to the bar, ordered drinks, and sat at an EMPTY table near the bar and waited for our food, the bartender was very nice by the way. We took our two apps, $40 worth back to the room, opened to find them burnt and tasteless. Sadly we hear it is a good place, but this was not a good experience.

We enjoyed a very relaxing dinner, right next to the beach, while the sun set. The wait staff were very attentive, the food was delicious, and the staff went out of their way to accommodate food requests. We had a very nice evening and would highly recommend.

We stayed at an adjoining property and had dinner at the Beach Side Café which is the onsite café of Sand Castle on the Beach Hotel. We were greeted by co-owner, Ted, who also introduced us to his partner, Chris. These guys rock! Both of these gracious gentlemen made us feel welcome and we learned that Ted's parents live near us in Texas.
The ambiance, food, service, and libations were excellent. I had the pork chop and my wife said her glazed salmon was the best she has ever tasted. Of course she made this comment after consuming a strong and very satisfying Mojito haha!
We had such a quality experience that we returned for dinner a second night with one of my business associates who is stationed in St Croix. Once again, a great evening.
I am a scuba instructor and Ted offered us a tour of the property as my scuba clients are always looking for recommendations for travel destinations. Chris gave us a tour of the property and we were impressed with the quality and cleanliness of the various room and villa options.

My wife and I stayed at Sandcastle for our 25th Wedding Anniversary, and ate at the Cafe at LEAST once every day, What grabs you is the awesome view of the beach, as well as the focal point of the restaurant- a tree that the restaurant was built around. The food is simply INCREDIBLE- you MUST try their desserts- and their service is second to none. You will feel as if you've made friends, not simply been waited on by a great staff!!

My husband and I had dinner reservations. Our server, Liz, did not seem to be very happy, and it showed in the service we received. Several times, she walked by and didn't look our way - you know when you can tell your server is purposely not looking at you. We ordered a salad and the wrong one was brought. Instead of apologizing, she just took the incorrect one away without saying a word. Once she brought the correct one, it was quite a while before she returned, we had wanted extra salad dressing but she walked by without glancing in our direction several times, until the salad was almost gone.
The steak skewers were delicious, and the bread pudding was fabulous. She never asked if we wanted anything else, just brought the check, so we asked for dessert and another drink. Again, a wordless transaction. Very puzzling, as the rest of the servers seemed to be very lively.
The view is absolutely wonderful, and if it wasn't cloudy, the sunset would have been spectacular!

My sister and brother-in-law took us here for our last night visiting with them. The view is nice; however service not so much. The restaurant was not that busy but after finally ordering drinks and appetizers, our appetizers arrived before our drinks. Our waiter spent most of the evening chatting with a couple sitting behind us. He kept coming back to update us on the many menu and drink selections that they were out of. After ordering, it was 45 minutes before 4 of our meals were delivered, broccoli and steak cold. One of us ordered a chicken special which never came, so we had to take it home in a to go box, because everyone else was done with their meals. We asked for the manager, not very helpful, but did comp the chicken special. As we were getting ready to leave, a large rat ran thru the restaurant, and she seemed to think that was humorous.

The Beach Side Cafe overlooks the best area of beach on the island which gives it amazing views to while you eat. This café offers a large variety of drinks and meals to choose from. We both ordered the special of the day which was a chicken quesadilla which was very tasty. We were lucky enough to be seated on the water’s edge overlooking the beach. We ate there for lunch after getting day passes which includes a chair, umbrella and use of facilities.

This is literally the best place on the island. For $10 you get a day pass to use the pool, umbrellas and chairs on the beach. The beach is among the best on the island. The bar makes great food, our favorite was the Mahi bites! Drinks were consistently good!

We stayed next door at the cottages. Their food was really good and the service staff was really nice but the management was really abrupt about being on their beach chairs, even after spending a few hundred dollars at their cafe. Was slightly put off about that.

The restaurant is open to the public. As you were informed - the hotel enmities are for registered guests of Sand Castle on the Beach. We offer day passes for non hotel guests on a limited basis.

After spending some time at Dorsch beach, we decided to try this cafe and were not disappointed. It happened to be Villa Morales night when we dined. We both ordered shrimp, one fried and the other sauteed in butter. The one in butter sauce was one of the best shrimp dishes I have ever tasted. Melt in your mouth! Wonderful waiter we had, too!

The restaurant has a great location on right in the beach. The staff were very pleasant. However, the food was mediocre and really expensive for what it was. I ordered the citrus salmon. The salmon was dry and came with canned green beans and white rice—for $38. Stick with the burger and fries.
