This little gem was worth it! Parking was somewhat tricky in the area, but the food was the best we had all week.

Have enjoyed 40 Strand on several occasions. Our absolute favorite is their killer Voo Doo Shrimp! The muscles are very tasty also. Tasted a fabulous pulled pork sandwich and a shrimp and rice gumbo dish during one of the downtown Jump festivals. All of Strand's...More

Very good food, excellent staff and a caring owner all made for a very positive visit. We were a large group and they went out of their way to accommodate us.

We went early New Years for. Set $75pp menu with glass of champagne. I had the rack of lamb with turnip and apple chutney, the beet salad, and a deep fried wonton skin banana foster type of dessert with pistachio ice cream, the dining area...More

40 Strand is tucked right next to the historic Club Comanche Hotel, definitely worth tracking down! Fresh dishes served up nightly, with a great Saturday brunch. Some of the best bloody Mary’s on island with an ever changing menu bursting with brunchy goodness! Honestly some...More

Great atmosphere, Shepherds pie & chowder excellent. Owner on site & cares. The island has terrible job pool issues. Second night mahi bites were soggy & fried & bartender was a no-show ( common in STX) hence the 3 Star.

Before I would always get the special because it was fish and I don’t get a lot of fresh fish at home. Last night tried their Mac and cheese- OMG it was gourmet! Not the junk you usually get, great mixture of creamy cheese, elbow...More

So you have to cross the street and go upstairs in the hotel to use the rest room. He, it's St. Croix, not the Ritz Carlton! Fried green tomatoes were excellent. Pasta special was huge to split. Service very good. Kind of cramped but friendly...More
