Great local restaurant, prices are decent compared to other restaurants on the island. We started with the conch fritters. It's like chicken balls with no chicken but instead some conch bits inside. It tastes like a rubbery mushroom. Specialty there is the blacken grouper ($38 US). It is good! The fish/fillet there is cut differently. It is cut into thin long pieces and not like a small thick steak piece. Some people are confused about it's cutting and think it's tilapia but it's not. We asked for rum-raison ice-cream for dessert and got vanilla ice-cream, raisins and a shot of rum ($10 US). 😂

We decided to give Mr. Grouper a try after reading that this was a favorite of the locals. We were not disappointed.
Our server, Abigail, was wonderful. We started with an order of Conch Fritters and Coconut Shrimp which was lightly breaded. Both appetizers were great.
My wife ordered the Crispy Grouper Filets which consisted of 4 lightly breaded pieces. I ate the leftover piece for breakfast the next morning over Peas and Rice with an egg on top. It was delicious! Others ordered the Grilled Grouper and Jerk Chicken. I ordered the Whole Pan Fried Snapper which was cooked perfectly and seasoned nicely.
They have music every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday which added to the ambiance.
I would strongly recommend Mr. Grouper.

Went here for dinner on a Saturday night. This is our 2nd trip to TCI and we had been wanting to check this place out. The dining area is open and modest in appearance. There were lots of families and couples. Everyone very chill. Live music started shortly after we arrived - oldies songs that the whole crowd soon began singing along. Oh yeah, and excellent fried grouper! Like, the freshest we’ve had on the island so far. The BBQ chicken and steamed veggies were also very flavorful.

We came to try Mr. Grouper’s because of the reputation and very disappointed! We made reservation at 6:30 PM and got seated right away. Poor service from the waitress , not friendly at all. My husband ordered grilled mahi mahi and told the waitress he wanted to cook medium rare but it turned out overcooked and super dry. He told the waitress that it was too dry and not what I expected and she replied with her attitude “oh the fish is too flaky” then she just walked away. We ordered conch fritters and coconut crusted grouper and it was ok. While we were trying to finish our meal then they started played the music way too loud and we can’t even hear ourselves talking. I thought I had a dinner in the nightclub. This place it’s not worth the money for sure!

Party of 2 Went to Mr Groupers tonight and had a good meal but paid for a 5 star meal and received 3 star meal with an un-itemized bill that didn’t translate to the food and service received
Our dinners per the Menu were $30 and we ordered wine which was a cheap Pino Grigio and bottled water which was delivered to the table unrequested . We had asked to taste the Pino ($48) before ordering but they switched the brand after we approved. Our two dinners plus wine was $190. So how much did they up charge for the wine switch and the bottle of water ? We decided to just leave without confronting management.

Was excited to have dinner of fresh fish with my friend. After an offer of a wine tasting of our preferred wine, was told the bottle was suddenly not available. Offered a substitute which assumed was comparable in price. Our $30 per person meal and reasonable bottle of wine amazingly became $158. Acknowledge this was our bad that we did not ask for the price prior to purchase, be aware this might be an experience you are not wanting. Proceed with caution.

So many bad things about this restaurant. First, we were seated by the foliage and I was immediately bitten by mosquitoes so we had to move. The service was slower than molasses and there were at least five staff members sitting around doing nothing when my husband needed a drink refill. The bathrooms were dirty and the stalls so small I could barely fit and I’m a petite 5’4! Food was horrible and the grouper was rubbery and tasted frozen. If you want grouper do not come here! Or, if you simply want a good meal with decent service do not come here.

The fish was over cooked but the seasoning was great. My husband like the conch and loved it. Our fries were cold and it took over 30 minutes to find our waitress so we could play our bill. Slowest service we have had on the island

STAY AWAY!!!! Non-existent customer service from the entryway. Attitudinal staff that I would not want touching my food. I was scared to drink my water based of the attitudes seeping from 2 of the staff. They delivered my food cold which I told them I was not eating. They still charged me for it. I was so mad at the whole experience that I failed to realize that these scam artist charged me for food that I took one bite of until i returned to my hotel. My child fell on their steps and they failed to act. Not only are they dishing out cold food and poor customer service, they're negligent. Non-slip strip should be placed on the steps. When they hear from someone's lawyer for negligence, maybe they will straighten up.

This was our second trip back to the island and decided to come back to Mr Groupers. This time for lunch. We had the coconut shrimp and the fish sandwich. The shrimp had an odd taste to it and the fish in the sandwich was so thin we weren't sure there was any fish in it. Not worth going back.

Absolute worst service on the island! I would give no stars for service if I could. We arrived at 8 pm and did not leave until 10:30 pm. My family and I waited 1.5 hours to get our food and were told they lost my ticket. My 11 year old daughter was starving and I requested that she get her food earlier. She then ordered ice cream and the waitress waited 30 minutes to tell her the ice cream had melted. We were surpirsed and disappointed. I waited another 30 minutes to get the bill and a to go bag. The waitress told me I needed to be patient. Meanwhile, the waitress took care of every other table and joked around with them and they came after us. She also gave personalized to go bags for a party of 6. This is the worst service we have received. My family and I will not be returning to this restaurant. Go elsewhere for better food and service.

Great food and very well priced. We got takeout one night and brought back to the hotel The coconut grouper was spectacular and the kids chicken fingers were homemade and delicious. Great option and close to our hotel The Palms

Let begin with the fact that the food was AMAZING! I ordered the pecan crusted grouper with sweet plaintains and rice and everything was hot and delicious. I then ordered the key lime pie for dessert and it too was just excellent. Some of the best key lime pie I've ever had. The reason for 3 stars - instead of 5 stars - was the service. It was MEH - at best. It was obvious that both my servers were bored to death and would rather have been anywhere else. They rarely checked in on me after my food was delivered and their attitude was very blase. I was disappointed because I had two different people recommend this restaurant to me. Would I go again? Yes, but now I know what to expect: an excellent kitchen and sub-par service.

We always make this restaurant one of our favorites when we visit the island.
We've been vacationing there for over 15 years.
On this visit we walked out before we could give our meal order
The waitress insisted that we buy the bottled water stating that the tap was "no good".
Even after handing the bottled water back to her, she insisted on handing it back to me! This accused 3 times.
The last time she started breaking the seal and opening the bottle
Thats wen I left. Needless to say this place is off of our list. It was much better before they became a "fancy place"

Local fresh fish seasoned well and served in a relaxed atmosphere. Good for lunch. Also known as hang out after island fish fry. Waitress had bit of an attitude when she saw our water bottles as not outside drinks are not permitted. The tone of voice used was unnecessary, but would revisit since food taste good.
