I had penne vodka pasta which was simply delicious. The chef brought some of his favorites finger foods. I have been to Little Italy in New York and have eaten at other Italian restaurants but the homemade pasta from La Tartaruga was nothing short of amazing. I would recommend this restaurant again and again. Can't wait to visit Tobago.

Enjoyed the food. Authentic italian. Very intimate setting and generally clean facilities. It was open-air and the evening was quite hot and humid. That made the experience mildly uncomfortable. That did not take much away from the meal. The menus were kept in manila folders hand-drawn in crayon by young and young at heart, seems to be art work by... More

One of my very few principles in life is that I NEVER eat Italian food outside Italy, but after a week of attempts at eating decent fish I gave it up, and gladly so. The owner, Gabriele, cooks with passion and employs excellent ingredients. Vegetables, bruschetta, etc. very tasty and treated with the necessary care and respect. And finally came... More

Best Italian food I've ever had. I almost didn't go to this restaurant thinking, why was I eating Italian in Tobago. Thank goodness we went anyway! Owners are awesome! Food was amazing!

Excellent. Just excellent. The food was delicious and the chef is a wonderful man with a true passion for Italian cuisine. He's a transplant from Italy via NY to Tobago. Everything is freshly made and authentic.

My parents lived on Trinidad and we spent many a weekend on Tobago for R&R when I visited. This restaurant was always top of the list of places to eat. Food superb, staff welcoming and I still make the cocktail that was made for me although it does not taste as good back home. I unfortunately do not get back... More

This is definitely one of the best dining experiences in Tobago. Gabriel is an excellent host and the meal world class: authentic Italian dishes. The wine list is one of the best I have seen in Trinidad or Tobago.

This restaurant and wine shop is exquisite! Gabriele offered thoughtful commentary on wine choices. His dishes were spectacular and the food was absolutely delicious. Absolutely comparable to the food you would get in Italy. Service was prompt and friendly. Do yourself a favour and go there!

Although a long established restaurant in Tobago, we first visited in 2016, and were blown away by the gorgeous pasta. House made, silken, beautiful texture and mouth feel. Four of our party of five had pasta, and the fifth ended up wishing he'd gotten pasta instead of his extremely delicious grilled fresh fish. The other orders were two cannellonis (one... More

For those wanting an occasionsla break from Caribbean cuisine, La Tartaruga is a safe and welcome alternative. Italian food of all types served with typical flair, great quality and friendly staff. Food came quickly, there is a good wine list and it's not expensive. Buccoo Bay, known for its weekly Sunday School, has become something of a tourist resort recently... More
