We did not stay at this property, only stopped to wander the grounds during a tour. The place is breathtakingly beautiful and we would love to come back one day and stay here. The gardens are gorgeous, there are fruit trees all along the property and small cottages. We were told they do a pig roast on Wednesdays. Definitely worth... More

The seafood here was really good (we had the grilled calamari and red snapper). Everything is fresh. Service is a bit on the slow side, but hey, it's island time! Enjoy your drink as you look our on the grounds.

Started out with high hopes, but with 7:30 reservations didn't eat until almost 9:00. Food was positively awful. Short ribs were chewy and uneven. Suckling pig had charcoal grit in every bite. Bread pudding was overpowered by liqour, and the bread was tasteless. Service was clueless - plates sat, lines were not managed, and a lousy time was had by... More

We went there for dinner on Wednesday night when they have their pig roast. You must make a reservation. You start with a house punch (or something else) inside the house which is the oldest plantation wooden house on the island. The manager was there and talked a little bit about the history of the place as well as the... More

Stopping by Hermitage was part of our private tour on a Wednesday! How fun! I would have loved to stay at the cottages here! So peaceful with so much character and class. I felt we were back in the time; within a plantation. The restaurant within the premises was spectacular and elegant! We chose to have a lite lunch here... More

A bartender at another watering hole had told us that his favourite rum punch was made at The Hermitage, so twas there we made our pilgrimage. What we discovered at the end of a narrow lane was a perfect rum punch wrapped in old-world charm and a delicious lunch. The service was impeccable, friendly and professional. The Hermitage is truly... More

We had an unforgettable meal at the Hermitage. They do a pig roast most Wednesday evenings, with a feast laid out on a big table to which you help yourself, like Thanksgiving. In addition to delectable roasted pig, there were fried dumplings, johnny cake, a pumpkin dish served in a hollowed-out pumpkin, a variety of Caribbean slaws, so many other... More

We came for cocktails and the buffet. The food was good but not exceptional. The staff was friendly but not like at other venues where they were truly enjoying meeting us and hosting us for a meal. Very expensive! Cocktails were not included as they were at both Nesbit plantation and Montpelier plantation.

Thank Dian D
