We took a drive around St. Kitts during our vacation there this month and timing worked out for us to stop at Serendipity for a late lunch. It was a place we had noted for its reviews, but it would be an understatement to say it surpassed our expectations. Maybe they (or I) just got lucky that their lamb stew dish could not have been more perfectly spiced for my palate, but regardless, I haven't gotten up from a dining table happier than when I left Serendipity in at least a few years. If I'm ever back on the island, I'll be heading there for that dish. The rest of my family were also very pleased with their dishes: perfectly prepared shrimp, delicious pasta and the thickest filet I've ever seen on a plate of fish and chips (with a perfectly light, crispy breading), and although this restaurant is listed as $$$$, the prices were slightly below average for what we found on the island, so the value proposition here is very strong as well. In our opinion, Serendipity has earned their top rating on the island and will likely remain there as long as they continue to delight customers like us!

We had read great reviews on this place and they were spot on. We started off with the panko breaded Brie. Excellent! My wife had the pink breaded shrimp and fish strips which we cooked perfectly. I opted for the blackened grouper and it was one of the best fish dishes that I have ever had. The creole tomato sauce is a great addition. It’s about a 15 minute walk from the pier but well worth it.

For St. Kitts dining this is the best you’ll eat on the island. Better than Marshall’s! Great view, wonderful service and flavorful food. Started with warm bread followed by our apps of vegetable spring rolls and the fried Brie cheese which were tasty and done perfectly. We also had the sirloin, veggie fajitas, and the shrimp, scallop and lobster medley which were also delicious and flavored perfectly. We ended it with the strawberry cheesecake which was a perfect ending to our wonderful meal. A must dine if you’re visiting St. Kitts.

Off the beaten path - definitely worth the trip! About 10 minutes from the Marriott St. Kitts Beach Resort. Great view of Basseterre and the food only made our evening even more special. My wife ordered grilled grouper and ordered grilled salmon - we both would order the same again. Even the accompanying vegetables were prepared to perfection.

Fantastic views of Basseterre and the harbour from the terrace restaurant. There is always a lovely breeze that keeps things cool in the heat of St Kitts. The food is always fresh and a combination of local and European food with large portion sizes. One of the few go to restaurants for us on the island

We are on our first time visit to St. Kitts. Prior to traveling we did a lot of research to find the best restaurant to celebrate my husband’s birthday. We thought Serendipity fit the bill and would help finish a terrific day of activities on a lovely island. This restaurant failed on just about all counts. Here are the specifics. Our appetizers included Spanish grilled octopus, fried calamari and I had the daily special pumpkin soup as my main course. My husband’s main course was a surf and turf, but that will be described later. The octopus dish was served in a small cast iron pan filled with lots of different elements. It looked very appetizing. Unfortunately looks were absolutely deceiving in this instance. The entire dish was largely tasteless. The octopus was tender, but that’s the best I can say. The calamari, described as light and with a garlic aioli, was not particularly light, nor did the aioli have any hint of garlic. The pumpkin soup was tasty enough, but the worst was yet to come. My husband’s surf and turf consisted of an alleged black angus strip loin steak, and 4 grilled shrimp. It is the first dish my husband has returned to a kitchen in over 40 years, describing the dish as inedible. The steak was all gristle and fat, and literally could not be cut. Now, while it’s true that the waitstaff failed to provide a steak knife, my husband was sure that this steak would have resisted a meat grinder. The proprietor knew that this was a birthday celebration. The wait staff was inattentive, the food was indifferent, and while the location was lovely, the competition between the restaurant stereo and the neighbor’s booming stereo, playing different music, really served to diminish the ambience. My husbands main dish was so terrible, that he had no faith in trying an alternative entree, including even a salad. Perhaps that’s unfair, but that’s the reality of the experience. We completed the meal with a banana creme brûlée, that must have left the bananas in the kitchen, because they certainly didn’t make it into the creme brûlée. And the espresso was weak as well. All in all we would not recommend this restaurant to anyone...despite all the general promising reviews that many trip advisor reviewers had to say. one last thing, this experience was so disappointing that my husband insisted that we write this review on the same evening as this abysmal meal. That’s got to tell you what a bad impression it made.

Delicious food. Creole dishes so good we asked if the chef was from New Orleans (which is saying a lot as we have in-laws that are Cajun in Louisiana and love to cook). Pleased the varying palates of picky 4 year olds to 70 year old with high measures for good food. 10/10 would eat here again and recommend.

What can I say! My favourite restaurant in St.kitts. A Must for me when I'm on island. My favourite dish oxtail rice and peas. I hope they don't change the menu like many restaurants have done to please certain crowd. It's could to still be able to get your proper caribbean food. I'll be back end of year 🙏🏿. Staff are lovely. Nice portions and highly recommend when your on island.

We enjoyed a lovely lunch for 4 on the deck at high noon. The colors were vibrant and it was fun to see the harbor and ships at anchor. The menu was delightful, and lunch portions were dinner-sized😀. The service was a bit more slow than normal St Kitts slow, especially as there were only two tables seated. But that made it more pleasant. I would note that we walked back into Brassterre from the restaurant. It was not very pleasant although there was an interesting war memorial on the way. Once in town, it was a hot mess. We skipped the cruise port shops and went up to the main square. It was very disappointing and not pleasant. As a suggestion I recommend that you taxi back from Serendipity to your next destination, wherever that may be.

Another fabulous dinner at Serendipity. We have been vacationing in St Kitts for many years now and it would not be complete with out dinner here. The food seems to be more memorable each time we go. This year we had a fabulous ceasars salads followed by a great steak and the catch of the day. Both dishes were cooked and seasoned to perfection. Of course we had to finish with the best chocolate mousse I've ever had. We highly recommend Serendipity!!

Pauline was able to accommodate our party of four on short notice - and we are all glad she did. I had the calamari appetizer (which was very good), followed by pan-fried grouper and jasmine rice, which was outstanding. The remainder of our group had the garlic shrimp (X2) and the chicken alfredo - all to rave reviews. Wish we had room for desert, but maybe next visit! We had dinner at Marshalls a few nights prior, and Serendipity was the preferred restaurant by all four of us.

We have been visiting St Kitts for over 16 years and our stay could not be complete without having a fantastic dinner at Serendipity Fabulous view and exquisite food, Hard to sum up all our dinners but to say they are all the best. Only the freshest entrées, with that touch only they can do to make it a terrific meal and a magnificent view of the harbor. Just perfect.

This is our second time here. The first time was excellent, 5 stars. This time however they did not have bouillabaisse-my husband’s main reason for going and also no lobster! Lobster is so prevalent here I’m not sure what the problem was in obtaining it! We had conch chowder which was actually very thin, more like a soup than chowder. The calamari was crispy and tasty-yeah! My husband had grouper which was good. I had the seafood in white wine and pesto sauce. I was looking forward to an interesting new dish. But alas, it was white wine sauce with some sprinkles of parsley I think. So check before you go - the bouillabaisse is worth it.

A fabulous meal and excellent service! My Greek salad was so fresh and flavoursome & my husband’s bouillabaisse was possibly the best we’ve ever tasted! Such fabulous depth of flavour! Totally worth the trip! My blackened grouper was also delicious and my husband’s cheeseburger was tasty and moist. The crème brûlée was delicious, the wine was great and the view was totally relaxing. The service was the best we’ve had in our 2 weeks in the Caribbean. This place has totally made our week! We’re only sorry to be leaving!

Wonderful place for an escape from the cruise ship. The bouillabaisse was the best we’ve had. Slightly spicy and plenty for us for lunch - we both got our own bowls. The seafood was not overcooked which so often happens in a seafood soups. Great view if you can score an outside table. Nice, reasonably attentive service.
