This is a restaurant in the Ritz Carlton Hotel on 7 mile Beach. Let me start by saying that I have no issues with my dinner experience there. Food was very good and well prepared and well presented. Staff was nice and attentive. Hamachi Nigiri and Dragon rolls were excellent. Chicken Gyoza was not made in house. Have been to... More

Unbelievably delicious food. I had the Omakse tasting menu twice. Our family enjoys Japanese food and Taikun is at the top of our favorites list. Outstanding friendly service and the fresh grated wasabi (grated on sharkskin) was super special. The presentation of the dishes were beautiful and the tastes exceed all our expectations. Would go back in a flash

We generally have a rule on vacation..."don't eat at the hotel." There's a reason for this. Typically overpriced, average food and more often than not uninspired service. Taikun fit the mantra to a T. Service was slow and without any grace or enthusiasm, prices were listed in CI (Cayman Island Dollars) but billed in dollars (25% more), and the Sashimi/Nigiri... More

The food was terrific, the service was great and the atmosphere was great. They used fresh wasabi root. The fish used in the sushi was very fresh. If you're in Grand Cayman it's the best eating experience you can have if you like sushi.

Taikun was really good and service up to par, but food was really pricey for what it is. They worked with my gluten free requirement but in doing so diminished the flavor/experience.

My wife and I ate Herr on our first night in the Caymans at the Ritz. The setting and atmosphere was perfect to celebrate the start of vacation. Both our servers were delightful and attentive. The drinks as well as the sushi we had were some of the best we've ever had, and we love sushi. We loved it so... More

The sushi at Taikun is one of the best I've ever had but this was all overshadowed by horrendous service. Firstly, a few hours before dinner, the restaurant left a message asking us to call back to confirm our reservation. We did, within the hour, and we made to feel as if we were bothering them by calling, being told... More

We were staying at the Ritz and we decided to stay at the hotel and eat at the sushi restaurant instead of going to one off site. We heard it was the best sushi in town. We got the tasting menu and some parts of it were very good. The appetizers were tasty but the sushi was underwhelming. Being sushi... More

Our final night of vacation was well spent at Taikun enjoying their delicious omakase tasting menu. The courses came out at a good pace and everything was delicious. Their kid food options were our son's favorite of the Ritz Carlton restaurants too (their salmon rice bowl was so tasty).

We were staying at the Ritz and decided to try Taikun. We had been out all day to Stingray City and weren't up to loading the kids back up in the car so we decided to eat at the hotel. The staff was very accommodating as we did not have reservations and we requested to sit out in the common/bar... More
