We ate early and the restaurant was empty but we were seated at the very back where I had my back to the room and only had a view of the emergency exit, fire extinguisher and a high chair. When we left at 8, it was still mostly empty so there was no reason to seat us there. It was unfortunate because the restaurant is beautiful with blues that feel like you are under water. We both had La Crema Chardonnay. We shared a Cesar salad which was excellent. It comes with whole anchovies and bacon and they ask you in advance if those are fine for those with dietary restrictions. There was thin naan as the bread with a sweet fruit chutney. I had the lobster ravioli with Boursin. They were excellent. My husband ordered the chicken which was fine but was chicken so nothing to rave over. Service was attentive and not rushed. All in all, we had a wonderful time which would have been nicer with a better table. At a minimum, putting a mirror on the wall so anyone seated there could at least see a reflection of the room would be better.

We enjoyed such an outstanding dinner! The food was outstanding, the selections extensive and far above so many other restaurant options, the service impeccable! Our family included five adults, and each of us ordered a different appetizer, main course, and dessert. Each option was outstanding. The attentive service was very professional, helpful, friendly yet unobtrusive, and much appreciated. Blue Cilantro is definitely our most exquisite dining experience on Cayman, and we will return next year, most definitely!

We enjoyed a delicious meal at Blue Cilantro. This was our first visit to the restaurant, although we have been to Grand Cayman numerous times. We had made a reservation and were startled upon arriving to find we were the only patrons there (which gave us some pause- why was that?). Fortunately, one other group arrived later in the evening. Service was outstanding, if a tad too attentive. We thought that was likely due to being their only customers for most of the evening. Overall our dining experience, both food and service, was 4.5 stars. Each of us ordered a different entree and we shared three appetizers. Note - appetizers are charged an additional $3. each for sharing, which was odd given that sharing appetizers is a common practice. Dinner portion sizes were very good, as was the preparation of each dish. Presentation was also excellent and ambience very nice. We were seated on an enclosed porch area overlooking West Bay Road and had a view of the spectacular sunset above Seven Mile Beach (but no waterfront view). I ordered the Paella as my entree and would highly recommend it. Dinner was pricey, and that would be my guess as to the small clientele. We enjoyed our meal very much. I gave the restaurant 4 stars instead of 5 because I am wondering if there was some unknown reason for the lack of patrons.

I truly wanted to love this restaurant. The cuisine seemed interesting as did the atmosphere. However, the execution of everything beyond the a few of the menu items was lethargic and pathetic. Let’s start with the salad and appetizer. The jumbo prawn appetizer was terrific. And set us up for great expectations. However, the blue cilantro salad advertised seared peaches and much more, but delivered nothing but disappointment. Then came the main course, almost 40 minutes later. In the meantime, drinks were not refilled, nor were we tended to in any manner. When the server finally came over, after I had to get up and speak to the manager, they charged us to refill a Shirley Temple, and a Diet Coke. A stupid choice if there ever was one. The food finally came after sitting out for a bit no doubt. The entrees could have been hotter and seasoned better. That said the catch of the day was good but paled in comparison to the risotto, which was perfect. The aromatic seafood entree ordered by my wife was meh. Not bad, but not good, just ok. After articulating our experience to the manager, he made a $9 adjustment to the $300 bill. And that is why you are reading this review. A clueless operation with potential to be so much better. So, here is an invitation to management to wake up and be better.

A remarkably bad restaurant designed for Texans and other loud braggarts with no interest in a local cuisine but only a compulsion to have red meat, over plush red wine, obsequious service, and cream sauces. The person who served our wine tried to use his body to shield the fact that the rotten cork broke in half. My tasting glass was full of cork crumbs and the wine oxydized. It was a white and served to warm, which was not surprising since the reds and whites were all housed in a refrigerated area immediately adjacent to our table set at too high a temperature. Nothing distinguished the food other than a muddle of flavors, everything had the texture of baby food. The amuse-bouche, instead of being palate cleansing or appetitive inducing was a heavy mush. The only highlight was the naan-like bread, served piping hot, pretty to look at with large boils and bubbles lightly browned. If you are looking solely for status, come here. If you care the least about food and wine, run the other direction.

6 adults and 3 children (2,4,6) and we had the most outstanding service and everyone thought the food was fantastic. The took care of the kids immediately and then the adults. We all had an incredible time in an ambiance that was Caribbean and modern. The food was incredible. I had the crab encrusted grouper and can say as a grouper “eater” this was the best.

This restaurant just gets better and better! Everything we ate last night was fabulous: the spanakopita appetizer, the delicious naans with chutneys , my husband’s seafood in a coconut sauce, and my tandoori baked whole red snapper. The dessert was my favorite: the chocolate caramel roll, and we ended with two wonderful pieces of chocolate candy and coffee. The service is fabulous, they remember you from visits before, and even the chef and owner came out to speak to us which means a lot. We will definitely be back in July.

Great drinks, great meal, great service. Freshest food we have had on the island. Compliments to the chef/owner! We had a quiet unrushed meal that was perfectly attended by the observant but unobtrusive staff. Such a frat evening. Thank you so much!

My first choice for dining finely in Grand Cayman as Chef Shetty elegantly, without fuss, combines subtle flavors of the Caribbean with Asian treats and continental flair. Huge, well chosen, wine list, reasonably priced, enhances the exquisite taste of the attractively presented dishes. Chef Shetty also oversees the kitchen at the world class Health City Cayman Islands, which is so popular regulars go there for meals. Yes, when was the last time you heard anyone raving about hospital food? But Blue Cilantro is a rare pleasure which should not be missed.

We went for brunch and brought my teenager. We asked if he could order just a waffle while we had the brunch and we’re told, “no problem”, so we came. We were assured that it would be “no problem” twice when making the reservation and again at the table. He ate the waffle and drank water. When the bill came they charged him for the whole thing, all you can eat and all you can drink. They would not budge and said, too bad, everyone pays the whole fee for brunch. What a bait and switch! If they had just told us when we asked we would have gone elsewhere. Who pays $100 USD for a waffle? I guess you just can’t believe anything this business says to get you in the door. 🤨

Good Day Sir | Madam, Happy Holidays! As per our Brunch Policy and as per Bruch concept ( worldwide) you don't come for Brunch and just pick one item to eat this is not what Brunch is about, However, after confiming with the service staff, they have advised that your teanage son had consumed 2 whole waffle, pancakes fruits etc. Brunch with out Bubbles is 74.75 CI including grats there is no way we would have charged you 100$ just for waffle. Please feel free to contact Chef Shetty if you have any futher concerns. Thank you and enjoy your day Blue Cilantro

I read really good reviews on this place so I was excited to try it. My family of 4 and I went on a Saturday night at 7 without reservations. We got in right away and they sat us down. From that point on the service was slow. We had to ask for menus. They did bring water right away and the server filling water glasses was on it. The wait staff however not so much. Got the foie gras appetizer and was underwhelmed. The goose liver was just seared in a pan served with 3 croutons and some kind of a spring roll with a dipping sauce that tasted very Much like catchup. My wife got the Paella and it was a solid dish. My 10 year old got the kid’s fish of the day and it was impressive. Mahi-mahi with mash potatoes, green beans and carrots. It had a nice sauce and the portion size was good particularly for something on the kids menu. My 7 year old got the kids lobster tail. This was her first lobster tail and she really enjoyed it. We were able to substitute French fries for mashed potatoes and it also came with carrots and green beans. Then we got to my meal. The server talked me into the duck special. I love duck, however, this was dry and tough. It came with a raspberry sauce that was kind of tasteless. We also split the hot fudge desert which was delicious, the sticky toffee pudding which was disappointing and ice cream that was ok. Ended the meal with the server knocking over my water into my lap. So I think they were having an off night. 3 out of 4 meals were good. 1 out of 3 deserts was delicious and the appetizer was ok. Service sucked, however, they may just be getting their game together post COVID.

Incredible fine dining experience! The service was top notch and drinks were well balanced and delicious (we tried both the white sangria and the Hugo). It is a more expensive restaurant than other options, but we thought food and drinks were well worth the cost. We will be back on our next trip!

Had the most wonderful Anniversary dinner here during our first trip to Grand Cayman! Our server Prakash was attentive without being obtrusive. My husband and I each had the Prix Fix menu, choosing different options for each course. The dishes were a wonderful fusion of east and west. Everything from the wahoo ceviche to the chocolate lava cake was sublime! And the cocktails…enjoyed probably the best most well balanced cocktail I’ve ever had with the Mango Caipiroka! As a matter of fact it was so good I enjoyed 2!

From the time we called to make the reservation until the time we went home, we felt spoiled. The staff was friendly and welcoming and their recommendations were on point. We made our reservation and arrived early and they were still able to seat us immediately. We never waited too long in between courses and our water and wine glasses were always full. The food was full of flavor and to say we left satisfied is an understatement. The chef came to the table to check on us and we had a wonderful conversation with him. Our waiter, Nathan, was an incredible host. Couldn’t recommend a restaurant with more enthusiasm. When you visit the island this restaurant is a must.
