My wife and I are staying at the Morritt's Resort and our concierge recommended this restaurant and we are so glad he did. We ate there last night, and it truly was real good authentic Mexican food. The restaurant is small but quaint and is adorned with decor many of which was purchased and brought from Mexico. The chips were homemade and definitely outstanding. The recommended queso creamy dip was delicious. My wife had the Chicken Enchiladas and I had the Shrimp Fajitas. The Fajitas plate was piled high with fresh delicious cut vegetables. I was given 4 flour tortillas and I not only ate all four but still had a pile of vegetables that I ate with my fork. Needless to say we enjoyed the food. As an added treat there was a Mariachi band that played for a short period of time. But the best part was that we were being picked up at our resort to be driven to the restaurant and due to a sickness with one of the employees we had the pleasure of the owner of the restaurant pick us up and take us back to our resort when we were done. She was very generous with her time and showed us a little more of the island on the way back. She is a pleasant woman who really made us feel comfortable and welcomed. If you are in the East End of the Cayman Islands, do not miss the opportunity to eat at this restaurant if you get the chance. I am pretty certain you will not be disappointed. Tom R. - Michigan

There are so many wonderful things I could say about this authentic lil spot tucked away in my favourite part of the island. I've visited, with family, friends and alone and each time the staff has been amazing and friendly, the Marguarita's are to die for, the food is scrumptious and if you're lucky enough to meet the owner Lyn and /or her daughter Kaylyn when you're there it makes this restaurant that much more special. I would recommend you go and enjoy La Casita while visiting.

Went here for the first time last night and was not disappointed. Definitely the best Mexican I’ve had in Cayman. My only criticism would be that the tortillas were too small and the margaritas expensive. I had thought it was happy hour prices but maybe this is only on Fridays. We will be back.

Hola! Gracias for your feedback. We are so happy you enjoyed your experience at La Casita. All of our tortillas are handmade with authentic corn flour, and are typical size for tacos in Mexico. However, we do offer the option for flour tortillas which are larger. Happy hour is 5pm - 7pm Tuesday - Friday, and our lime margaritas are $6. We also do $6 lime margaritas all evening on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. We hope to see you back again soon!

Being from Texas, we are always curious about Mexican food restaurants in unusual places. We were happily surprised to find one in the Caymans. We arrived at 5 pm when they opened and had the impression they weren't really expecting customers at that time. After a slow start, things picked up. The food was very delicous and worth another visit.

Some of the best tacos I've ever eaten! Friendly staff, fun decor and more affordable than many other options on the island. They also do a really great classic margarita if you are so inclined. The shrimp tacos were a highlight for me, and our server brought out a house-made hot sauce that was scrumptious!

What can I say about this place… it’s simply the best! Daniel the head chef and all his cooks make some of the most authentic yet delicious Mexican food your tastebuds will have the pleasure of tasting. The drinks, they’re not joking when the say it’ll leave you thirsty for more, they’re perfectly balanced in both flavour and that kick you look forward to from a proper mezcal or tequila, while at the same time allowing you to still experience the freshness of the food itself, and the beers are always ice cold! And the level of hospitality is unequivocally unlike any on island, simply perfect! They treat you like family! If your family happens to be the most charismatic, professional and fancy people you know! Debbie is always there with a bright smile ready to bring you that perfect drink and exquisite dish from Daniel’s kitchen, just don’t forget to order some tres leches for dessert and you’re sure to be satisfied to your hearts desires! This place is perfect for that post work drink or that Mexican taste you’ve been craving all week. Trust me when I say this, this place is truly the hidden Gem of Gran Cayman and it’s tucked away in the peaceful east end! Drive slow or you may miss it during the day with all the natural beauty the island offers! But at night it’s welcoming music and bright lights will guide you in like runway lights to a plane! Enjoy!

This establishment had changed hands during the pandemic which was a mistake. Previous owners had pricing and food that was an excellent value. Not anymore. Be prepared for $7 bottled beer and $9 for a 4 oz. glass of wine. Tacos were smallest we've ever seen, maybe 4" in diameter, no more than 4 bites each. That's about $1 per bite! Fish tacos were okay but chicken tasted like it came from a can. One server was friendly, one was not. $60 for six small tacos and two drinks was outrageous. Save your money and go to Eagle Rays instead for much better food, reasonable prices and friendly staff.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are committed to providing excellent customer satisfaction and we are sorry you were disappointed. We are a new restaurant and we can only learn and improve from reviews. We would like to clarify a few points, as our menu confirms all beers are $6.00 with the exception of two. We pour our wine from a wine gauge that pours exactly 6oz. Perhaps becasue the wine is served in a stemless wine glass, it may have appeared less than the standard 6 oz. We are an authentic Mexican Restaurant and we make our corn tortillas by hand. These are smaller than the flour tortillas, but flour tortillas are also an option. Most of our menu options are farm to table as we like to support our local farmers and fisherman which can be a little more costly. In addition, since COVID-19, and the war in Ukraine, there has been substantial inflation on food costs however we have tried to keep our prices as reasonable as possible. Our chicken is boiled and perhaps was not seasoned enough for your liking. We have spoken to our Chef about this.

Fantastic authentic food and margaritas in the East End! We ate at La Casita twice during our vacation and it was by far the best food, service and ambiance we had. Margaritas are delicious…and deadly! My husband loved the steak tacos; I enjoyed the fish and pork tacos along with the elote. The house made tortilla chips, salsa and hot sauce were also great. The staff are friendly and attentive. And there’s a great mariachi band on Wednesday evenings!

Hands down the best Tacos, Salsa, Guacamole and MARGARITAS to be found on the island! Don’t miss their Tamarind margarita…so so good. We have dined at La Casita a few times this year so far and it is always a real treat and consistently great. The food is delectable, the flavors authentic and subtle. The staff are always friendly and service is superb. Cant say enough good things and I’m already excited to return!

Great new addition to the east end! Located in the same location as Taco Cantina but under new ownership I am told. Admittedly, 5 stars might be somewhat generous but the food was really good and the staff super friendly! Expect Cayman prices, but the quality did not disappoint! The guac was chunky and fresh, and the chips warm on arrival - a pro move! Patron margarita was so excellent I had two - smooth, strong and not tart! Pork tacos very tasty, but the steak ones were downright delicious! The apparently house-made corn tortillas were great but too small for the amount of meat pilled on top. Keep this place in business!, I want to eat there again!

We had the pleasure of having Sunday Brunch at La Casita recently. We were staying at the nearby Black Urchin resort and decided to give it a try since it was so close by. We were blown away - everything was absolutely delicious. Not only was the entire menu available but there were special brunch offerings. All of us enjoyed our meals (huevos rancheros, breakfast burritos, fish tacos) and the homemade piping hot chips and fresh salsa were over the top. The table then shared the tres leches french toast and the tres leches dessert - both were divine. Chef came out to the table to check on us and the staff was so attentive and kind. So excited to come back again for dinner and sample some amazing margaritas!

Excellent place on the East End of the Caymans. Do not forget taco tuesday and make reservations since it truly fills up. We had the Gobernador tacos which were as good as in Mazatlan Mexico and the Steak also great. The trick is the home made tortillas! a little piece of Mexico in the Caymans. (PS Do not forget to order the "Pastel de Tres Leches", best outside of Mexico)

We arrived without reservation but managed a table right away. I mentioned to my wife I didn't see a single Spanish/ Mexican person working there. I am Puerto Rican, and tried speaking Spanish to a couple of them, with a resulting blank stare lol. Our waiter was from Malaysia I believe. The food was good, typical Mexican fare. My biggest and only gripe involves the price. It may well have been my fault as I didn't look at the bill when signing it. We each had an Entree, 19-20 dollars CI each. Found out they charge for almost anything. The salsa and chips are $6 CI each and we shared two of them. I think the chips were free. My wife had a margarita, again around $12 CI. That was the extent of our meal, and when looking at the bill next day, I was charged $147 US! This includes a now nearly mandatory gratuity added to your bill. I did not have a detailed bill, just the CC receipt, my fault. They are only open for dinner, and by that time we were busy with our friends doing/eating in other places, so I never got to challenge the bill. We tried inflating all we could to arrive at this price, and never got close.

Hola. Thank you for sharing your feedback about your recent visit to La Casita. We take pride in fostering a multicultural environment, and a significant portion of our team are Latinos, and speak Spanish as their first language, with the exception of one staff member on the floor from the Philippines. As a small restaurant located in the Cayman Islands, we must balance competitive pricing with the reality of importing many ingredients. However, we do our best to maintain reasonable prices while ensuring the quality and authenticity of our food and drinks. We apologize for any confusion regarding your bill. In the Cayman Islands, it's standard for restaurants to add at least a 15% gratuity to bills. However, if you felt the service didn't meet your standards, you can always request to have it removed before paying. We appreciate your feedback and hope to have the opportunity to exceed your expectations in the future. Gracias.

La Casita was amazing. My family and I are from Texas and the Mexican food was fantastic. Please ask for Debbie, she was fantastic. She took really good care of us, especially my wife who has celiac. Debbie made sure my wife was taken care of knowing that there was a potential she could get sick from mishandling the food. She was amazing. I great find in the Cayman Islands.

Our party of ten had the best meal of our vacation at La Casita the other night. Perfect margaritas (we enjoyed the house and the 'Tommy'), fantastic sharing appetizers- we enjoyed chips, salsa, guac and ceviche, kids loved their food (mostly quesadillas but the restaurant also accommodated a side of chicken and it was delicious!). Adults had tacos, including an amazing short rib taco. Service was wonderful- very sweet and attentive, despite the place being pretty busy, great with the kids. We are looking to go back for another excellent dinner. Definitely worth two trips!
