We did a full-day cruise with Billy Bones Boatcharters and were asked when we checked in that morning if we wanted chicken, ribs, or fish. Sight unseen, having no idea where this meal would take place or how it would be prepared (on the boat,...reheated in a microwave?) we both opted for chicken. Lolo's was our pre-arranged lunch stop, and the pre-order was so that we wouldn't have to wait for them to prepare it once we got there (you could see them cooking on the grill, so it was obviously all freshly prepared!) Everything was delicious, and we wished we'd ventured out and gotten a little bit of everything, but the chicken was very good.
My husband had a beer and I had a rum and coke, which was VERY strong. I don't like strong drinks, but I'm reporting it that way so that you can know you'll get your money's worth! I didn't drink most of the drink, and just went back to straight soda once back on board. (Highly recommend Billy Bones - there was a large cooler stocked with beer, rum punch, sodas and waters, so we were never lacking for something cold to drink! But mostly because our day out on the water with Captain Boy was the highlight of our trip to St. Maarten.)
This place was busy - other tour groups, locals, having lunch, having drinks, enjoying the view - but the service was fast, friendly, and the prices were good.
For those of you coming off a tour boat, I HIGHLY recommend you bring some shoes or flip flops ashore with you. The sand was hot, but as you get close to the restaurant, you're walking on asphalt, which is even hotter. We found ourselves playing hopscotch, trying to move from one shaded square to another in order to get to our table.More
