We’re in St Martin for 2 weeks every year and we make a point of dining here once a week. La Villa’s escargot is divine and their duck is the best we’ve ever had. We’re usually too full for dessert, but they look fabulous. They...do have a 3 course special as well. They always start your dinner with a small cup of cold soup and delicious French bread. They end your dinner with an apéritif on the house. Service is wonderful, but the food is superb! You can also have cold tap water which is just as good as bottled!More

We were looking forward to our evening at La Villa but were unfortunately left underwhelmed by the experience. We felt there was quite a disconnect between the prices, and the setting and quality of the dishes. As we sat down, we were greeted by a...tablecloth with literal holes in it. Our cocktails were quite watered down. We ordered foie gras and received liver - not liver pate, but an actual slab of liver (yes, your patrons know the difference). The gratuity and service tax was indicated on the menu as included in the bill, and yet the bill arrived with the words "you can leave the tip right here". Some guests were receiving complimentary aperitifs at the end of their meals, and some weren't. (We didn't.) On the whole, we're sorry to say, the experience was a letdown.More

The food and staff at La Villa was wonderful. Though it was always crowded and they did a great business, they recognized you when you returned to eat there again. It was never the next day because we were in St. Martin’s for three weeks....I have special dietary needs and they would prepare my fish differently than it was on the menu. They were friendly and extremely accommodating…enough for us to return more than once.More

Really wonderful dinner! Great food and amazing friendly service. We had appetizers and fish dishes. My sesame encrusted tuna was outstanding. Desserts were pistachio creme brûlée and pavlova. A memorable evening indeed!

We went to La Villa without a reservation on a Tuesday night during the weekly street fair out front which is insanely busy. They worked us in! Everything was top notch! From the cocktails to the amuse bouche through the main course to the desserts...the quality was remarkable. My favourite thing was the Pavlova dessert. The bonus for us was when the carnival dancers came into the restaurant. Such fun!More

We went to La Villa based on a recommendation from a fellow traveler, and we're glad we did. The food, atmosphere and service were all top notch -- and we'll be sure to return on our next visit to SXM.

If you want one of the island's best dining experiences, you must try La Villa. The attentive staff goes out of their way to make everyone feel extra special. The food is AMAZING - Every time! But - be careful of the after-dinner drinks cause...they can sneak up on you. Hahaha. **NOTE** to Americans who might not be used to the traditions in a French restaurant. You MUST ask for the check. No, they are not ignoring you. They will not bring the bill to the table until the patron asks.More

We arrive on time for our reservation and our table wasn't ready -- no problem. So they seated us as a 6-top and noted "we might need to ask you to move" if the now-30-minute-late party ever showed. They eventually did (45 minutes late) and...so we were moved, again, no problem, we were happy to do so... but that was the last we ever saw of a server. We couldn't get a glass of water refilled, and the check took over 30 minutes to pay, eventually after we flagged down the owner, who was not exactly apologetic. Disappointing, given the abundance of good reviews here, but at least there are plenty of other better options in Grand Case.More

you definitely need a reservation, the service was outstanding. Everyone chips in to keep service timely and even though it was packed you could ask a question about the menu to anyone. The atmosphere is cozy and relaxing and lovely. I heard the waiter tell a...customer they could make most anything gluten free. They start with a complimentary tasting of potato soup that didn't taste like any potato soup you would think of, it was AMAZING!I had the chilled soup with asparagus and green apple- AMAZING.I had the crabmeat with mango and avocado AMAZING, My husband had the trigger fish-AMAZING! the portions are small and NOT inexpensive but the flavors were outstanding. We are not big portion eaters so we were satisfied but others may want to choose more off the menu only because of the small portion size. we don't usually order dessert but had room for it here AND the dinner was AMAZING so we wanted to try the profiteroles- AMAZING! hope you get the ideaMore

We showed up (two couples) on Valentine's Day with no reservation (this is not recommended :) ). The owner was at the door and explained that she may be able to get us in as it seemed a table was opening up sooner than expected....We sat within 15 minutes and WOW was it worth it. Our meals included, veal chops, mahi-mahi, chicken supreme, and sea bass. We all tried a bit of the others' and I have to say they were all fantastic. The atmosphere, the service and the value were all better than expectedMore

Although I'm a male wheelchair user, they suggested I use the female bathroom, which was just about possible for me, but tricky. Don't assume it's OK.
