I ate at La Villa with a friend and was very pleased by the food, the service and the price. The prix fixe menu was 49 euros and was three courses. I started with sweet breads, morels, and puff pastry - tender sweet breads and lovely fresh mushrooms . I then had rack of lamb, perfectly pink and fresh tasting. A bottle of very serviceable Cote du Rhône, domain bottled, was perfect and well priced at 29 euros. I finished with a pistachio creme brûlée. A thoroughly out standing meal in the Grand Cases tradition.

La Villa’s menu is as diverse as it is sublime. The cucumber soup with goat cheese is fantastic as is the sea bass in a light curry sauce. One of the waiters, JC by name, is an extraordinary fellow, trilingual, and with a sense of humor that makes the dining experience joyful and fun. The staff is pleasant and committed to making one’s experience of the food as delightful as possible. And “delightful” is indeed the word that beautifully and perfectly describes this restaurant.

We spent a wonderful 2 hours at La Villa for my wife's 65th birthday party. The greeting at the door, the complimentary valet (no easy parking in Grand Case) were delightful. The waiters were all fun and enjoyable, fully knowledgable about the menu. Started with a complimentary sweet potato soup, the lobster bisque for my wife and onion soup for me, both were superb (though maybe there was too much onion soup as it was very filling). My wife had the rack of lamb, medium rare on the rare side that was cooked perfectly while I had the Grouper filet special which was excellent. Molten chocolate cake for dessert. All at a prix fix of 49 euro. Then complimentary digestive of homemade rum and then limoncello. All in all a great evening.

La Villa is in the heart of Restaurant Row in Grand Case and that’s the problem: it is surrounded by other restaurants that serve better food. I was disappointed in a lobster ravioli appetizer, which wasn’t all that flavorful. The John Dory was overcooked and served swimming in too much butter sauce. My friend also found her main dish unsatisfying, so much so that she now can’t remember what it was. We enjoyed the non-traditional Isle flotante, made with raspberry sauce.
Service was very helpful and efficient. It’s a pleasant space but for the same price, you can eat better food elsewhere in Grand Case.

We went to la villa after a 28 hour journey , and it was a great experience . The service was absolute top rate , with a good sense of humour, also. The three course fixed menu ( of course lots of individual menu items too ) was 49 euros , a very good value in our view . The wine list is well chosen and well priced . My spouse and I had different dishes for all 3 courses, which I won’t review separately other than to say each was superb . Not just good , superb . With a bottle of st emilion Bordeaux and muscat to finish , it was a meal made in heaven . Thankyou to the servers, chef and owner ! We will be back .

I am a great lover of frog legs ( cuisses de grenouilles) and the ones I had at La Villa were big and somewhat bland rather than smaller , meaty and tasty .
I had to even add salt to them .
Subsequently I had the lobster and this dish too left me somewhat disappointed with the taste . It was smothered with vegetables and I had to litterally scoop out the vegetables to get to the white fleshy part which was not that fleshy to begin with plus it had acquired the flavors of the vegetables and did not taste that appealing .
The best part might have been the dessert ( warm chocolate moelleux ) .
All in all , it is a restaurant that could have potential but needs a lot of « refinement » and « improvement »

We dined at La Villa last week. As always, the cuisine was wonderful and accordingly we frequent them regularly whenver we're in SXM.
The owners and staff have been there for years and it seems to me they've got it down to a science. The service is great and the cuisine is consistently top shelf.
They still offer a prix fixe for your choice of appetizer, entree & dessert for €49. If you pay in cash (rather than card) $1=1€ which amounts to a 20% discount these days. Beside that they
offer valet car parking in Grand Case where finding a spot is problematic.
For me you can't beat La Villa when in Grand Case.

From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed by all the staff. Everyone was working harmoniously. We started off with a wonderful bottle of Boudreaux. My husband started with the sweet breads in puffed pastry with a Morrell sauce, he is still talking about it. I ordered the chicken stuffed with goat cheese and spinach, it was served with a red pepper sauce accompanied by mashed potatoes and vegetables, it was absolutely delightful. My husband ordered the filet with au gratin potato’s and vegetables, the dish was wonderful. We finished with the profitiorols and an iced coffee. The total evening was a great experience. Thank you for being such wonderful hosts. We will be back

We’re from the states and we’ve been fortunate enough to have visited some pretty incredible restaurants, but La Villa takes the cake for me. Right off the bat, JC made us feel so welcome. He was very formal and energetic, and kept us laughing all night. We never had to ask for more water or bread or utensils - everything we needed was taken care or before we could ask. The entire staff was extremely attentive, and the food was DELICIOUS. I couldn’t decide between two plates, so I asked JC to decide for me. He ended up ordering me a combination of the two plates - literally read my mind. Can’t wait to go back!

Not the best of the Grand Case fine dining establishments, but a very good meal nonetheless. Staff was truly great, food just a little lagging behind (some overcooked seafood). Still, would return again.

Spent one night in Grand Case and based on the Caribbean Journal's rating of La Villa as one of the 50 top restaurants in the Caribbean. Made our reservation online with no fuss.
Service throughout the night was excellent. When we left my wife forgot her wrap and the waiter chased us down the street to return it.
The venue is not overly fancy but very tasteful and comfortable. We both had the lobster bisque as a starter. It was amazing. I have never had better lobster bisque. I had the veal with morel mushroom sauce as my main and my wife had the lamb. The morel mushroom sauce was superb and the lamb was perfectly cooked. My wife's lamb was also excellent. The portions are about medium in size. I had 4 or 5 medallions of veal. The portions are satisfying but do leave room for dessert. And you do want to leave room for dessert.
My wife is not a dessert eater but I am. I had the special which was a pistachio creme brule with chocolate sauce. The flavor was exquisite and the chocolate sauce really gave the dish some spark.
The wine list is excellent and the markups are reasonable. The service was attentive but at no time did we feel like we were being rushed.
We will definitely come back next year and have no hesitation in recommending La Villa to anyone who wants an excellent meal with attentive and friendly service. One of the 3 best restaurant meals I have ever had.

First time back since the devastating hurricane. So happy Christophe, Florence and La Villa are better then ever. We enjoyed the tuna tartare, lobster bisque and scallops wth mushroom sauce. JC our server was wonderful. The service here is only upstaged by the quality of the food. We loved the rack of lamb, John Dory and mahi-mahi. Chocolate molten cake and various rum numbers were a delightful finish to a super chill dinner. Can’t wait to go back! Love everybody at La Villa!

Have been eating here every year since my last review of 2012. This year, 2020, have eaten there twice. Everything was exactingly prepared Lamb was perfectly cooked and a more than adequate portion. Was so good I actually had it both times which I very rarely do. My wife had John Dory, again cooked to perfection, and Grilled Branzino in a curry sauce which was scrumptious. Appetizers for the 2 nights included lobster ravioli, lobster bisque, and scallops. All were wonderful. And of course a nice bottle of wine. As good as the food was, the ambience is even better. The friendliness of owners and wait staff makes you feel welcome and valued. And they even Valet park your car which is a great benefit in Grand Case. We have come here every year for the 11 years they have been open and would not miss it.

We're back...still on our sxm list and will continue to be for next year. Lobster bisque was to die for. I'm told the escargots were some of the best. 3 out of 4 had lamb chops...amazing how the conversation stopped until we were done licking our fingers...so much for edicate when it comes to finger licking food😁. Yummy desserts that would require another review AND rum, rum, rum as the topper for the wonderful meals. Btw almost everything is on 3 course price fix 49e appetizer, main course & Dessert (rum is a bonus).

I have visited La Villa restaurant several times yet have amazingly failed to post a review. First of all, the staff including the co-owner, are friendly, knowledgeable, and goes out of their way to make you comfortable. The drinks and wine list is very lovely and we’ll priced. The the menu has a delicious array of culinary choices from salads to appetizers to main courses which will appeal to anyone. The dishes arrived piping hot and with the typical French artistry. Their pricing is more than fair (in my opinion better than some of the restaurants that are on the ocean). To me the most enjoyable part was not feeling rushed. Some restaurants in Grand Case (which I will not name) rush you in between courses and that is very uncomfortable. La Villa let me enjoy my food, wine, cognac, and relax. For all these reasons I will definitely go back my next time in St. Martin (which will be soon). Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to and exquisite evening at La Villa. You will not be disappointed.
