We have been going to Bistrot Caraibes since the brothers oened in the early eighties. We feel they are one of the best restaurants on the island. We have always had a wonderful experience, great food, a warm and friendly atmosphere, and have never been...disappointed. We're looking forward to our next visit.More
Went for dinner in late December, had a fantastic meal - particularly the Lobster Thermidor(!!!) and the Duck Breast. Amaury and his brother were very inviting and their staff made sure that we had everything that we need. A must-go experience when visiting Grand Case
I keep a home here in SXM and frequent many of the better restaurants on the island. We dined last week at Bistro Caraibes in Grand Case.
I 've been there several times before but have found the cuisine to be inconsistent. On my first...visit several years ago I enjoyed one of the best French meals ever ... it was truly exceptional. Next visit I was disappointed with one of the poorest fine dining experiences I've had in St Martin ... so I stayed away for a while.
This recent visit was somewhere in the middle.
My wife ordered an appetizer of snails in a cream sauce and I had their caesar salad. For entries she ordered the duck breast vs my meditation sea bass (deboned). There was nothing bad about the meals, but nothing memorable either.
The snails were good, but an abundance of very rich wine sauce smothered the flavor of the duck. Both the cesaer salad and the sea bass were completely forgettable. Not bad but, not worth re-ordering. Being disappointed we skipped dessert and orderd the check instead.
In summary the three meals I've eaten over the past couple of years varied from excellent to poor. For me at least, consistency is an issue at Bistro Caraibes.More

No valet parking and if you come during Mardi Gras de Grand Case during February or March, parking will be next to impossible. If you enter Grand Case at the entrance closest to Marigot, there will be a temporary gate on your left with two men. Tell them that you want to go to the paid parking area and they will move the gate aside. $5 or 5 EUR. Parking lot is a field directly behind the main street. Worth every penny!!
