This resort area is in a rather isolated area over a small mountain from Cul-de-Sac. A beautiful area. I am not too familiar with amenities offered here, though there is a marina and a few resorts, so there should be places like that. The island is rather small (36 square miles ) with one main road that circles it. I would definitely suggest renting a car since there are many great beaches, places, and restaurants to explore: Orient Beach, Dawn Beach, Mullet Bay beach, Grand Case for a lovely evening dinner, Baie Rouge, a beautiful beach, Friar's Bay Beach, and with a hike, Happy Bay, not to mention shopping and the boardwalk in Phillipsburg. . We have been getting great deals for cars for years at Safari. Visiting Maho Bay to watch the planes come in is a must. They come in so low, you feel like you can touch them. Another must is the 3 island tour with Captain Alan which launches from Oyster Pond by Oyster Bay Beach Resort. A lunch or dinner at Mr.Busby's Beach Bar on Dawn Beach is great. Enjoy the island! We love it !
