Good Location- Decent Food

Dropped in after a long arduous hike on the coast - got a waterfront table, two beers and decent food. The service was excellent and more of a pub/bag food style which is what it is. Experience was all good.

Some hits and definite misses at this place

My friend and I ordered take out dinners for our respective families while we are staying in a house on beautiful St. Maarten. Our experience with the food here was rather mixed. The carrots and green beans that came with our entrees were excellent. My...kid enjoyed his NY strip, I enjoyed the conch fritters (much better than we had previously in Key West), and my friend enjoyed his shrimp dish. We ordered 4 Caesar salads between us and no one liked theirs. The dressing definitely tasted off. My wife did not like the seafood sampler that I ordered for her as there were bones in her Mahi Mahi and the calamari was very tough and chewy. My wife’s friend ordered the chicken teriyaki and she remarked that it was quite unremarkable.More

Great food, Great host

We had an early dinner at Chesterfields in July. There were four of us. Three had the Very Popular Seafood Plater which comes with Calamari. Calamari can be chewy sometimes so they were able to sub more Fried Shrimp instead of the Calamari. The ones...who had that were very satisfied. I had the Mahi Mahi Chesterfield and it was Excellent. Jeff the owner came and talked to us and recommended some other places to eat on the Island. He spent several minutes telling us about other things to do on the Island also. He was a very good host so we went back the next day for breakfast which was very good also. Jeff then spent more time with us talking about the Island. I would highly recommend Chesterfields to anyone visiting the Island. It is located in Phillipsburg near where the Cruise Ships dock. Beware of the Alligator. Tell Jeff the group from Alabama said hello.More

Grandpas birthday dinner!

One of our favorite restaurants! Party of 10… three young children.. made sure the kids were fed promptly! Food was great and it was my husbands birthday… the staff surprised home with a delicious dessert!

Great Oceanside dining

We had a great meal and friendly service. We tried the escargot and calamari for appetizers, which were very tasty. The fresh fish and seafood pastas were all very good. Extensive cocktail menu. Beautiful oceanfront setting. They have an island dog who frequents there. Her...name is Lovely and she is a very good dog and friendly presence. She did not beg for food. We shared an Ice Cream Brownie dessert which was yummy.More

Food poisoning!!! Stay away!!!

Great location, but 4 hours after eating and once on board the cruise ship the food poisoning kicked in. Do not eat here!!!

Enjoy the water views

We always enjoy coming here for lunch to enjoy the scenery and water views in daylight. It turned out to be our final meal on the island before going to the airport. Which means we had a great last memorable event. The hurricane shrimp is...hot but not too hot for a spicy food lover. The grilled mahi mahi included a side order and a small salad. It was wonderfully flaky. The grilled chicken sandwich was very good.More

Good Food

Really enjoyed chesterfield’s. Reasonably priced. Good meal. Our friend ordered the Duck and loved it $25. The conch fritters, coconut shrimp, filet mignon was also fabulous. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. We had Samantha our first visit and another great waitress 2 days...later ( sorry we forgot her name).More

Fantastic Lunch, Never Disappoints

We had another great lunch at Chesterfield's. The service is excellent and the food always consistent and delicious. This visit, I switched from ordering my usual (Mixed Seafood Wrap) to one of the catches of the day, Grouper. I had my blackened and the filet...was delicious. That came with Salad and Rice & Beans or Fries. They have a terrific location right on the water. Food prices are good and the scenery is excellent. It's 2.5 miles from the Divi, but we often take a nice walk over the hill and through town to fetch some delicious lunch. I would strongly recommend visiting Chesterfield's.More

Relaxing dinner

The atmosphere here was great and our server, Samantha, was amazing. Great seafood with decent portions compared to other spots we visited. It is a little off the path from downtown but worth the walk and visit. You can tell this is a local favorite.

Awesome local dining experience with beautiful water views.

Amazing fresh, local fare. Perfectly priced. Fantastic service by Samantha, served with her beautiful smile. Coconut shrimp and Mahi-mahi Royale, are to die for. Views over the water makes this top tier. Thank you.

Chesterfields Restaurant is a MUST DO in SXM!

Always great food and tremendous atmosphere, great view of the marina and ocean, right on the water! Highly recommend the lobster bisque and Mahi Royale (crab stuffed Mahi). Servers Joyce and Samantha get special mention also! Both are so friendly and attentive! Thank you! Chesterfields...is always in our to do list more than once when we're in SXM!!More

Sub-Par at Best

Ok let me start off positive!! Restaurant is every nice and seems clean. My waitress was very good! I own a restaurant in Ohio and I know it is hard work! Now for the negative:::: Ordered the Conch Chowder they said was made Fresh, NO...WAY! It tasted like something from a Campbell’s soup can!! warm not hot. Next ordered the Maui Tuna medium with rice. When it came out it had carrots and green beans also on the Plate. Tuna was not fresh it was rubbery, rice and carrots we ok (not great but ok), green beans absolutely now seasoning. Didn’t complain added salt and ate about half. Couldn’t eat any more. I told the waitress that it was not good! Told her I didn’t want a discount and want to pay full price!! This place is Sub-Par at best!,More

So and so

On the way back from this restaurant the taxi driver asked us: How was the food, good? We answered: No!!!! He continued: Was it bad? again: No!!!!! The fact is this: nothing to write home about

Good food but was rushed by the staff to leave.

We had a 7p reservation and was looking forward to our dinner experience. The food was good, fish was fresh and salad was crisp. We were never offered water or a second drink. Perhaps there clean up custom is different then we are used to,...the staff literally wiped down our table as we were still sitting down talking after dinner. They made us feel like we needed to leave and told the next group that was their table despite many others being open. Good food poor staff and etiquette. Price was reasonable.More
