The food was pricey , We were made to feel unwelcome when I asked about ingredients ...I made it clear I had an allergy , and just wanted to be safe ... Kind of pompous older woman gave Us the food snob treatment ..I wanted...More

A step back in time, with excellent old fashioned style hospitality, a time when visiting a restaurant was an experience, an occasion and when service is matched by culinary excellence. You walk in and are greeted by an explosion on your senses. The aromas from...More

Quirky, eclectic and just fantastic is the best way to describe this place. Set in a building that’s 250 years old the decor defies description. It’s a crazy mixture of kitsch, old bistro chic and part museum. It’s a comfortable, cosy combination of mismatched soft...More

We were concerned that the historic building that houses L'Escargot might have been destroyed by Hurricane Irma, but it came through just fine and the restaurant's French ambiance is as gracious as ever. Everything is delicious -- my husband loves the escargot and I cannot...More

Visited here in February 2018 for dinner. The restaurant is located on Front Street (Dutch side) in an adorable, quaint 200 year old building that survived Hurricane Irma (September 2017) with very minimal damage. The decor is old and charming and decorated with a hodge...More

We have been going to L’escargot for the past ten years in March and December. This past December is the only time we missed due to Irma. The food is absolutely delicious. For starters we always have the escargot. They have several different styles but...More

We had a nice mix of Escargot and French onion soup....a nice light lunch that we really enjoyed. The owners came over and chatted with us for awhile and we enjoyed trading stories. Was a great find.

I just wanted a place to chill. Excellent service and considering they only just got open after hurricanes, it was great. Nice duck pate and a beautiful red. I’ll be back.

We stopped in at this restaurant to check out the menu, as we were planning on returning for dinner. The owner, a female, tall blonde, french accent, came charging out from the back and ordered us to leave.. I explained we were just there to...More

We absolutely agree!! because we have been on sabbatical since May 2018 and will reopen in October 2019. Therefore the review by Paulfromhere should be deleted. obviously he has reviewed the wrong restaurant.
