Staying at Sugar Beach and being Hotel Chocolat consumers we just had to visit here. And enjoyed it so much we went back on our final night. Stunning location and ambience and we loved the cocoa/chocolate hints within the meals. I had a steak with...More

Thank you for taking the short trip up from our friends at Sugar beach and happy that you came back for a second taster.

Absolutely fantastic lunch in a spectacular location. The food, cocktails and service were excellent. Good value for money by comparison to other restaurants on the island. Following lunch we did the 'bean to bar' experience, this was great fun and the staff were very friendly...More

Great way to incorporate our tour with lunch is goes hand in hand to understanding the different stages of the process from the tree to bar tehn what the chef's create on a plate. Look forward to your visit again.

The food, atmosphere, view, and service could not have been better. Book an early sitting so you can see the view before, during, and after sunset. The lounge area is lovely for a drink before hand and a cocoa tea afterwards.

Quiet agree the Boucan offers so much in terms of big nature views from vibrant sunsets to full moons - Venus is always the first planet to be spotted above the Petit Piton. Delighted you enjoyed.

Another breathtaking view. They infuse chocolate into their drink and food menu in a very unique, but not overwhelming way. Even if you don't have a sweet tooth, it's worth it to see what they do here.

We are on our honeymoon. We sat down tonight expecting to be delighted with our reservations. Instead we spent two hours and 17 minutes mostly devoted to waiting on the wait staff. We ordered as soon as the waitress stopped at our table. 30 to...More

Thank you for your feedback, and sincere apologies for what would appear to be along wait during courses. We will certainly review what happened on this particular evening as this is very unusual. The dining at Boucan is an experience which allows our guests to...More

Without a doubt this is the fanciest restaurant for miles around, but still maintains St. Lucia's welcoming atmosphere. The restaurant is a short (and lovely) drive from Soufriere, and when we went for lunch on a Monday we had most of the restaurant to ourselves....More

We visited the restaurant for lunch on the last day of our honeymoon. As a chocolate/Hotel Chocolate lover, I was more excited by the cocktail and dessert menus but the chicken roti I had was also delicious (but not as chocolatey as the desserts). Despite...More

Delighted that you noticed the ethic details at Boucan - complementary water for all our guests and a no tipping policy - we believe you should get excellent service every time.

I'm really not sure where to begin. Interesting concept that lured us in as chocolate lovers, but they couldn't get any of the basics right. Overcooked fish, overcooked chicken, poor sauce combinations, stale bread, literally couldn't be any worse. Stay far away.

Such a shame, we aim to make our guests happy while still with us. We will swap any dish you are not absolutely pleased with.

Description
Perched high up between the Piton mountains, The Boucan Restaraunt is open to both residents and non residents. Boucan is The Hotel Chocolat’s own restaurant, where guests can experience Cacao Cuisine. The word “Boucan” refers to the traditional West Indian name for a cocoa drying facility. The restaurant is built on the site of the Rabot Estate’s original Boucan. Boucan is also linked to “boucaneer” or “buccaneer,” the local pirates that would smoke and dry their food to preserve it for long trips at sea. The Boucan offers a strong connection with cacao and chocolate. For over 3,000 years, cacao has been used as a savory ingredient and for 500 as a sweet ingredient. The menu explores both, with the chefs taking their inspiration from the fresh cacao growing all around the estate, together with amazing local fish and seafood, salad leaves, vegetables and plentiful fruit. However the cuisine is far from cocoa heavy. The menu often makes use of cacao as a light, subtle spice or as an infusion. The desserts make full and imaginative use of the estate cacao, with each evening meal rounded off with the day’s new chocolate creation. Boucan’s breathtaking minimalist design includes a soaring roof inspired by the shape of the cacao tree, with its branches reaching to the sky, and shaded by the lush rainforest canopy. Its high platform is a centre stage for the Big Nature views all around.Dining at the Hotel Chocolat's Boucan Restaurant, whether it be breakfast, lunch, dinner or the fabulous sundowner cocktails, is an experience to be shared and cherished. We passionately believe we are certainly offering something very different at Boucan. The dress code is smart/casual and ladies a cocktail dress is never out of place!
