About
Perched high up between the Piton mountains, The Boucan Restaraunt is open to both residents and non residents. Boucan is The Hotel Chocolat’s own restaurant, where guests can experience Cacao Cuisine. The word “Boucan” refers to the traditional West Indian name for a cocoa drying facility. The restaurant is built on the site of the Rabot Estate’s original Boucan. Boucan is also linked to “boucaneer” or “buccaneer,” the local pirates that would smoke and dry their food to preserve it for long trips at sea. The Boucan offers a strong connection with cacao and chocolate. For over 3,000 years, cacao has been used as a savory ingredient and for 500 as a sweet ingredient. The menu explores both,

We had two lunches here. The highlight was an absolutely superb chocalte marquise dessert - four puddings in one. Great salads. The chocolate angle to every dish is interesting, though I think I would get fed up with it if I stayed a week. However...More

The setting and view must be the best on the island, absolutely stunning. The dipping entrees are delicious - melted chocolate, chocolate butter and herb oil. Food is delicious and filling if a bit small and dessert a feast for the eyes as well as...More

We were staying across the street at Ladera. Our travel agent made us a dinner reservation at Boucan. My main was acceptable but not exceptional, a type of barbecue chicken and it was tough. Otherwise all meals in our group were good. Probably just a...More

This is across the street from Ladera and Dasheene. Much better food than at Dasheene. It's a very nice restaurant associated with Hotel Chocolat. The ambience is excellent and the dinner was very good. The view is not as good but we ate night so...More

This is a must see and eat location in St Lucia. The view of the Pitons from an open air restaurant is incredible. I case you were wondering, it is covered and there are few flying insects on the island. The food was very good...More

Glad you enjoyed our unique cuisine and wonderful views from the Boucan and hope to see you again. Our signature Cacao martini is made fresh from the pulp from the cocoa beans.

Service was great. My wife’s scallops were pretty good but my duck wasn’t the best. The deserts and chocolate cocktails were delicious.

Excellent food, service was below par. You are initially seated in the bar area. 15 minutes pass, no one asks you if you want a beverage. You are then brought to a table where you sit empty handed for another 15 minutes. The staff are...More

Boucan is set up high in the hills above Soufriere, with open walls and a dark wood interior. The food was very well presented and the flavours subtly balanced. When I read that they use cocoa in everything I was worried it would be too...More

Hotel Chocolate serves very unusual and yummy combinations in its menus and you dine with one of the best views of Gros Piton. Not cheap, but with careful menu selection, affordable as an unforgettable St Lucian experience
