I recommend you get to the Golden Tast before 8.00 pm and enjoy a nice grilled fish with local ground provisions and salad. From 9.00 o'clock onwards it is party time and talking and hear becomes difficult
While on our vacation, we wanted to try a local restaurant and Golden Taste was recommended to us. This place was incredibly good! We shared the calamari, then we had the grilled fish and the creole fish. Both dishes were amazing and filled with sides...of various vegetables. We loved it so much, we are planning on going again before we leave to try the lobster! Definitely recommend trying if you want local cuisine.More
First place we came to on our first day in Gros Islet. Stopped for a beer and decided to eat. Corn cakes were delicious. We had ribs and wings as main course. Both were delicious and came with huge portion of tasty veg and salad....Service was great, very friendly
A really good meal and reasonably priced.More
We ate here two Friday nights and also another evening when walking back from Pigeon Island. It’s a great place to watch the Friday night party and eat great food. We ate the lobster and shrimp which are both fab. The meals comes with rice,...veg, salad, provisions (plantain, yams). As well as great food it’s a fun and friendly restaurant.
Thanks to Amy for her great service.
We’ll definitely head back to eat here when we returnMore
We had our best meal all week here and incidentally, it was the cheapest. Very generous plates of food for such small prices and everything tasted great and was seasoned well (it seems so many places don't know about salt - and this from someone...who is a very conservative salter). It was also the only restaurant we picked because they allegedly served conch fritters, which my son had to have, that actually had them. And, they were some of the best conch fritters we've ever had. All the meals were great too. The only down side was location. We had to drive through Castries to get to it from where we were staying in Marigot Bay. If it weren't for that, we would have been eating there every day! 4 meals, 2 orders of Conch Fritters and 3 Rum Punch and a soda for a mere $93US. It was also the fastest meal we had served and the service was friendly and welcoming, even with the steady stream of locals coming in for takeout (always a good sign in my book).More
Friday evening17th May and we were in Gros Islet for the infamous street party. This one of bars that we stopped at.
We ordered our beers at the bar, which were $2 US or 5 ECD each, so not a rip off. We sat outside...on the benches on the street and watched other revelers dancing in the street.
The staff were entering in to the spirit of the evening, singing and dancing about.
We did not eat here but stayed for a few beers before moving get to the next bar.More
Our party of four enjoyed tasty local food at the Golden Taste. In particular, the fish dishes were so fresh and tasty and our partners enjoyed the ribs! Servers were fun, nice mix of locals and visitors.
