This restaurants was highly recommended so we ventured here with a group of friends for a special night. Service was rushed. Did not even finish appetizers before waiter was removing our plates. He forgot to bring one persons order and when it cam back he...had to return it as is was so bad (overly spiced ans salty) Everyone complained about how salty the dishes were. The only good thing was the pasta was al'dente. To add insult to injury, we were overcharged for a bottle of wine we never ordered. Was really turned off by the condition of the restaurants chairs. Vinyl chairs were all chipping, not acceptable at this level and price of dining. I have read the good reviews here and must think either they are fake or they changed chefs. Save the money and go elsewhere!More

Group of six went for dinner 2 nights ago. Worse service, worse salt laden pasta, ..Main course came in at different times. Waiters were removing plates before some of us finished our meal. The drink orders were taken haphazzardly,, wrong drinks were served .On top...of it the bill was padded by 200 Euros by switching the wine from what we had ordered. It was a horrific experience. There are other decent places in Saint Barts. NEVER go this place, it is a rip off !!More

We've consistently dined in St. Barth for a number of years and enjoyed the majority of meals and we've never experienced anything less than polite authentic service until now. We were not greeted as we arrived and were offered a terrible table by the entrance...and when I requested a change we were seated in a jammed table between two large parties and the waiter station at the bar. Note the restaurant is dated and worn out. The chairs are plastic banquet type with the plastic falling off in places. They were out of a number of menu options and do not allow any alternations or shared portions of anything. The scallops were not fresh and the carbonera was OK albeit salty. The veal scaloppini was over-cooked, extremely salty and unpleasant while the veal chop was indeed a good cut and of good quality but a disaster as overcooked, over dramatically salty. We send the veal back and shared our feedback and this was obviously offensive to the waiter who all night was rushed, impatient, condesending and rude. He offered no solution or apologies. Just returned after a while with the dessert menu. We explained we were not happy and were leaving so we'd like the check. Again no apologies or remedy. He returned with the check and we paid without a tip, We've never done this before and can accept mistakes and bad food, but this poor attitude is intolerable. As soon as he left the table within 3 feet he looked at the bill, saw the no tip and became very agressive with me in my face. I asked to speak to a manager which did not happen until I asked again. We spoke to him and he apologized, but offered no remedy. I was not going to write this review, however after looking at our check this morning we saw we were overcharged for two glasses of wine at the end of the dinner that we never had! See attached. This is a scam. I suspect that the positive reviews on this site are fake. There's no way anyone could enjoy this disaster. STAY FAR AWAY!More

My husband has been coming to St. Barths for many, many years and he has always appreciated coming to L'Isola for proper Italian food. This time is the last! We dined on a busy Friday night (not an excuse for not treating the customers well)....The two of us were pushed into a corner next to a big group of very loud american cruisers. Every time one of the had to get up they knocked over glasses, salt and pepper etc. on our table. There were to options for a vegetarian, artichoke salad and pasta. When I asked for some pesto for my extremely dry (pre-made) salad, I was told that, they did NOT make change their dishes. Also at first they served a corked wine - the so called sommelier did not even had the courtesy to check before having us to taste. My husband had the Veal Milanese - it was dry and overcooked. Fist when we asked for the bill the waiter could smile (reluctantly) hoping for a tip. Well no tip for an overpriced, rude waiter and no more L'Isola for us. Shame on you to take luring people in and take their money for something soulless and indifferent.More

We enjoyed our Italian meal here. Upscale, delicious food. We had the radicchio salad, rigatoni, wine, and the chocolate soufflé dessert special. All were outstanding. The bread is amazing as well; it comes out steaming hot - scrumptious!

The food here is fantastic, the vibe is lively as to be expected, but the wait staff (management was great), needs to slow down and act more professionally.

My wife and I have been travelling to St. Barth for over 20 years. While there are MANY wonderful restaurants here L'Isola is our personal favorite The team is second to none. The food is absolutely divine. I always ask for our favorite waiter, Davide....He welcomes you and treats you like family. Enjoy!More
