In conclusion, my experience in this restaurant/ beach was marred by exorbitant prices, poor service, and concerns about card cloning. The exorbitant prices and poor services!!!! I would strongly advise anyone considering to take lunch to think twice and carefully consider the potential drawbacks before...committing to this supposedly luxurious restaurant/bar. There are undoubtedly safer and more enjoyable options available for those seeking a truly memorable vacation.More

The biggest scam in St Barth While Saint Barth's natural beauty is undeniable, my recent experience left me disheartened. The island seems to have succumbed to a trend of escalating prices without clear justification, resembling a collective of French "tribes" engaging in what feels like...a pricing cartel. This has significantly impacted the overall enjoyment of the island, making it less accessible and welcoming for visitors. I recently had the unfortunate opportunity to visit St. Barths, and I must say, it was a highly disappointing experience. Despite its reputation as a luxurious and glamorous destination, my time on this island left me feeling underwhelmed and dissatisfied. First and foremost, the exorbitant prices for everything on the island were simply outrageous. From accommodation to dining and even basic amenities, St. Barths seemed to have a knack for overcharging its visitors. The waiters and staff at restaurants and hotels were shockingly rude and inattentive. Their lack of professionalism and disregard for customer satisfaction was evident, leaving me feeling like an inconvenience rather than a valued guest. The poor service further exacerbated my frustration and made me question the island's commitment to providing a positive experience for its visitors. But even before I had the chance to experience the disappointing service, I had to endure the nightmare of getting to St. Barths. The journey to the island from St. Marteen airport was nothing short of a logistical nightmare. The limited options for flights and the complicated transfer process made it a grueling experience. I was amazed by the desire of the St. Marteen's airport employees to accept a bribe to get you on the plane to the island. The arduous journey left me questioning whether the hassle was even worth it. This lackluster service further contributed to my overall disappointment. To make matters worse, there were alarming concerns about card cloning on the island. The presence of the Marseilles mafia in St. Barths and St. Tropez raised suspicions about the authenticity of the point-of-sale (POS) systems. It was impossible to know if I was paying at a legitimate POS or if my card information was being compromised. This constant fear of falling victim to card cloning added an extra layer of stress and anxiety to an already disappointing trip. Lastly, the island's nightlife scene, which is often hyped as vibrant and exciting, was a major letdown. The clubs and bars lacked atmosphere and failed to deliver the energetic and lively experience I had anticipated. Also, be very careful because the waiters have a bad habit of adding extra things on your bill at the clubs! Double check! In conclusion, my experience in St. Barths was marred by exorbitant prices, poor service, and concerns about card cloning. The exorbitant prices, poor infrastructure, overcrowded beaches, lackluster service, and underwhelming nightlife all contributed to my disappointment. I would strongly advise anyone considering a trip to St. Barths to think twice and carefully consider the potential drawbacks before committing to this supposedly luxurious destination. There are undoubtedly safer and more enjoyable options available for those seeking a truly memorable vacation.More

While this restaurant offers amazing views and delicious food - beware of the hostess. She not only failed to tell us the day bed we asked for was $300 but the proceeded to yell and point at me when I inquired about the cost. My...husband politely confirmed we were not aware of the cost. She continued to raise her voice, point her finger, and insisted she told us of the cost. I don't mind paying for nice things, it's St. Barths after all, but the attitude of this young woman baffles me. If not but for her- I would surely return.More

Located on Shell Beach. Clear shallow waters, great music and chill atmosphere. Food is the best. Their special grilled prawns were the best. Thank you to the staff, great service

The server we had was very rude and disrespectful. I don’t think I’ll ever go back there again. I felt we were being watched all the time - we weren’t loud so I guess because we were the only black set of girls there idk...I don’t want to think like that. However, that server needs some training - we were looking at the special menu and one of the girls wanted a king crab and he told no don’t look at the expensive stuff. The minimum for King crab is $325euro he said it as if we can’t afford it which we can. Anyways, if I could recall his name I would place it on here. He was very rude. The food was good thou!More

We headed to Shell Beach after ambling around Gustavia and couldn’t decide where to have a light lunch. Walked up around 1130 and was able to secure a 12 noon lunch reservation. Received a great table. Lovely view. Professional, polite service. Bread was warm and...just perfect. Greek Salad, Grilled Squid and Feta in Phyllo. Food was delicious. Had lunch here in 2022 as well and food was great. For us Shellona has been consistently good so I would recommend.More

Go for the view and the beach. When this place was Do Brasil the location was great but so was the food and the service. Today only the location remains. Food quality is soso and prices are really high. We also had the worst Pina...Coladas ever and were charged euro 12 more than on the drinks price list. So go to the beach but bring your pick nick!More

We had lunch at this restaurant. The service and food were terrible. We ordered lobster and it was undercooked. We couldn't get our waitress to come back to the table for wine service, to hear our complaint and to pay the bill. We finally tracked...down the manager and told him about our issues. He said sorry, I will take care of you next time. We told him we were not coming back and he said there is nothing I can do!More

So this actually happened to us today… We woke up this morning and one of our kids was sick. We had a reservation for lunch at Shellona at 1230pm, so I called at about 8am to cancel. The voice message instructed that all issues regarding...reservations should be taken by email, so I then sent in a note to cancel at about 8:05am. A little after 1pm, I got an email saying that the restaurant had held our table for us and turned down other people, and we would be charged a cancellation fee of 140 euros per person, or 560 euros in total - a number that had we not had a sick kid and been able to make the reservation, we would have never in a million years spent. Do I have a problem with a cancellation fee? No. I appreciate that people hold tables and if you simply do not show up it costs a business money. Do I have a problem with being charged 2x what we would have spent with no advanced communication because the restaurant simply did not look at its emails despite directing me to communicate that way? Absolutely. It is truly terrible customer management. Either release the table first thing and do not hold it, or inform me first thing of the restaurant’s intransigent policy on adjustments, regardless of the circumstances. Instead I received a rather curt message noting that I had “signed a contract” on cancellation. Got to love that service… In any case, we will certainly never consider going back, and would encourage any other folks who seek to support businesses who act fairly and reasonably to pick alternate venues. In my view this kind of rent-seeking behavior should not go unnoticed.More

Had a reservation for lunch, and its slow season and was about 25% full. I wish we had a table right at the front but we could still see the ocean. Service was decent, and we decided to order all starters just to try a...bunch of stuff. Would recommend visiting more of a Mediterranean style food but was a good mix up from the other things we had been eating on the island.More
