This is just a cool place with a lot of history and we go once for lunch every time we are on st. Barths. Yes the cheeseburgers are average, you have to order at the counter, and the only "service" is bar service but it is a classic place with the most reasonably priced food on the island. A must do!

Had to stop in just knowing the history, and with a song rumored to be written about their cheeseburger and to see what the hype is about. Personally thought it was just okay, coming from the US its easy to get a good burger. But I will say having eaten a lot of fancy foods over the last week it was nice to have a classic burger. Patty is very thin but the taste is good. They open for serving food about 1130 and was busy but not overly crowded. I also had the poutine but didnt taste like the classic was more of fries with a BBQ like gravy/sauce and shredded fiesta cheese. Good but not what I was hoping for.
They had a bar but it was a separate tab which made it slightly difficult as the bar had a minimum of 20 euro for using a credit card. We just wanted a quick beer for lunch that were a reasonable 5-7 euro each so meeting the minimum would have been tough as the food doesnt count toward that as you pay separate. Not a complaint more so a tip for people coming, bring cash if you want drinks, or be ready to have more than one which is not necessarily a bad thing.
The bad was there were A LOT of flies all over the place, not sure if it was due to the heat, the general smell of the food, or the tables but as soon as we ate I was happy to leave as there were that many flies.
Overall I would go back to have a break from the high end food for a classic burger.

We have enjoyed our trip to Saint Barts the last three days, but it is refreshing to get a cheeseburger in Paradise, a few beers and cocktails at a reasonable price.
Two beers and a planters punch cost €12. Most drinks on the island cost $18-$22.
This is a relaxing atmosphere with a lot of tables outside with a very nice cool breeze.
The bartenders are really cool and friendly.
I did indeed, have a cheeseburger and fries in paradise, and my wife had grilled Mahi mahi and French fries. Both meals were delicious and the french fries were extraordinary. The food is separate from the bar tab, and this meal cost €28…
The entire place has a cool vibe and has nice music playing inside the bar and on the patio.
Enjoy this slice of Paradise in Gustavo.

We were in St Barths this week for our second trip. Our previous experiences have all been so positive, making this island our favorite place in the world. We had been to Le Select during our last visit. This time, we unfortunately encountered Francis Payne, the bartender with an aggressive attitude. When we arrived, my wife asked Francis Payne for the food menu. His response was extremely rude, informing her to order food outside and then turned his back on her. After ordering burgers, I returned to the bar with my credit card in hand and ordered 2 cokes from him at the bar. He announced that it would be 7 Euros, and then he noticed my credit card, to which he snapped "20 Euro minimum". I inquired why he had not informed me in advance that there was a minimum, as we had no cash. His response was word for word, "Why did you not tell me you wanted to f@#king pay with a card?", at which point he took both cokes and threw the cokes violently into the sink. I was simply stunned. Never in all my years of traveling have I witnessed such a rude person. Any normal person would have discussed what options I had to pay, such as suggesting the closest ATM. However, his response was one of pure hatred towards Americans. C'est la Vie!

Great simple fast burger! I got the bacon cheeseburger which had a generous amount of bacon and nice melted cheese on a toasted bun. It satisfied my craving and can’t beat the price. Also enjoyed a tequila sunrise which was blissful. Great stop.

I have to say the recent experience at Le Select was exceptional. The barman made sure everyone entering wore a face mask, and even supplied one to one gent who didn't have one. This was the most Covid secure bar or restaurant we visited on this trip and I felt very safe there so had a nice time.
A glass of white wine was 3 EUR and a bottle of Carib was 3.50 EUR

Very good cheeseburger and fries. I went here when I got off the ferry. This is a casual place with a lot of people having beers.. Great location. Prices are decent I paid about 18.00 euros for the cheeseburger and fries. I recommend this place for beers, drinks and cheeseburgers.

I feel like a trip to St. Barts without a visit to Le Select is a tragedy! A great place to hang and enjoy some cold Red Stripes and Cheeseburger(in Paradise) and some fries. The atmosphere is very festive and plenty of good people watching and activity in the area. This is a great place to Chillax!

Just an absolute MUST every trip. It screams everything I love about St. Barts and is such a departure from all the party beach spots. If you want great people, a surprisingly fabulous burger and fries, with an ice cold beer, at a reasonable price, here's your spot. It's the antithesis of Shellona, Nikki Beach and their counterparts. Shellona, Nikki and their counterparts all have their place and I love them, but Le Select is unique, historic and amazing. Going back again!

You can't visit Saint Barts and not visit Le Select ! During the day it has a very friendly atmosphere, always busy with locals and families. At night, more of a hangout spot for drinks and snacks. The staff are absolutely fantastic! Yoyo, Jeff, Renault, Alex, Soledad, Francis and Garri make you feel like part of the family! My favourite place in the world!

This place has been here forever. Our first trip here was in 1979. Saw Jimmy Buffet eating burgers. The place is no big shakes - don't expect a fancy joint. Burgers are good, But it is a must do in the afternoon.

Stopped at this crowded bar, around since the 1950’s. It’s colourful, distinctive décor is eye catching. I enjoyed people watching too in the crowded patio area, full of a collection of revelers enjoying their leisure time. Service was good despite how busy it was. I enjoyed a couple of brews sitting in the sun. It is in a really good location just off the main harbour. Hard to miss...

Everyone goes here to grab a drink. Mid day, afternoon, evening or late night. Definite must stop if you go to St Barths. Heard the burger was amazing. We only went to drink...several times.

Le Select remains a great place for people watching in Gustavia, and the Caipirinha's are still only €8, even if a Carib is now €5 !
