We stayed in the hotel and enjoyed the bar/restaurant too. We arrived on Friday and got lucky enough to be joining the sabaoke evening. We actually found out that there are people living on the island(so quiet on the streets!!) it was a fun night and a group of locals also took us to guidos for an after;-). We enjoyed... More

Being that I'm one of the lucky few who get to call Saba home, I have the opportunity to write reviews based upon long-term experience...not just what I experienced on a day trip or one week holiday. As a resident of this beautiful island, I can honestly say that no place offers more variety in entertainment and dining options than... More

Next time you stay at Scout's Place I strongly recommend the Caribbean Breakfast. The johhny cakes are big, fluffy and delicious. The Salt fish/cod fish is well prepared and very tasty.

Thank you Makeba. I remember last time you came we were out of Johnny cakes and I told the kitchen ladies to make more since they became one of our hot sellers. Daily Sabans and other guests come and get Johnny cakes. We're very proud that we can serve a real Saba dish and that we are one of the... More

I have stayed a couple of times this year at this hotel. I love it and I felt at home both times. They remembered my face also and were very friendly to me when answering my questions. I don't think I would stay anywhere else on Saba anymore. This has become my home when I'm there! The breakfast was great!... More

Dear Truusje, this is so nice. Frankly this is what we always wanted when we took over Scout's Place 16 years ago, that our visitors coming to Scout's Place and Saba in general feel like home. Great compliment to our staff as well, they work really hard to make it happen and we are glad to have them working for... More

I was disappointed because they ran out of curried goat. My husband had mahi mahi which was excellent! I had the curried chicken- OK but mushy. We ended up there several times during our trip because they were close and they were OPEN! (a lot of places close early or take spontaneous days off)

Dear Lola, sorry that we didn't have any goat stew. We are one of a few if not the only place on Saba that served curry goat on a regular basis. Our local and Caribbean chefs are masters in making the stew (and more Caribbean specialties). We depend on local "hunters", means the owners of the goats to bring the... More

Scout's was the same as the last visit there. This is a good thing. Nice tile floored rooms, open feel, very clean, Definitely worth it to get a deluxe room on the upper floor, great views of the island and the ocean. Great attitude by the staff as well.

Tonight, Chef Wolfgang Tooten had prepared a Sushi night. I am so happy we made a reservation in advance because the food was just out of this world. I have lived on Saba for over 16 years since 1991 but never experienced such a high class food. Everything was fresh, tasty, excellent service and great presentation. Well done Wolfgang We... More

I'm always fully booked and our repeat guests and frequent customers enjoy it very much. Ask to sit outside. Be sure to ask about food/drink specials and if they are bar area only. This seemed to be a favorite for a younger crowd. My first night in Saba, and I hastily chose Scout's after a long day of travel. I was seated in an area near nobody- not asked if I wanted to be outside... More

Dear traveler, nice that you would try us again. Its certainly worth it, I promise you. Actually we don't have a "seating" policy, so you could have gone outside on the terrace as most people do by yourself. If there is a pre-reservation or any other event on the terrace that is a different story but normally we are pretty... More

Despite facing on her own some difficulties right at that time, the waitress has been very nice to us. The view is fantastic, the place is peaceful and fun, and the food was good, not outstanding but good. I absolutely loved the sweet potato fries! We'll go again on our next trip to Saba.

Very good food, well prepared, fresh and delicious. Delightful atmosphere. The outdoor dining area is breathtaking on a cool Saba morning. Sit, eat and take as long as you like to linger over coffee and enjoy the peace and tranquility.
