We were told by the locals to stop here just to meet John. Wow, what a character! John, is a true Montserratian. He served us roti and sat with us. We chatted for ages about life before the volcano and now. His positive outlook and...happiness is contagious. A must stop!More

After reading reviews we decided we had to stop. Rotis are amazing. Fresh and hot. We had heard about John's coconut tart and when asked he made us one while we waited. It was so good. He is the friendliest man ever and he is...continually busy with customers. There is a great view from his verandah and a great breeze on a hot day.More

We were looking for a place to have a good breakfast before exploring the island. We stopped here and we were greeted as if they've known us for years. The only food available at the time were roti. We were hungry, so we ordered a...couple. They were outstanding! We enjoyed talking to the owner and the patrons, who told us that if you stay at the People's Place long enough, you see all Montserratians go by. We went back that evening for another roti, but all food was sold out.More

No visit to Montserrat is complete without a stop at The People's Place. John makes everyone feel like family and you will want to sit a while on the verandah to take in the incredible view and enjoy the breeze. The drinks are always ice...cold, the food warm and local. Be sure to ask him what desserts he has today. His coconut tart is really incredible. Fridays and Saturdays you can get the national dish of goat water. Saturday is also soup day.More

This was our hang out for three weeks. John the owner is one of the nicest people we have ever met. And, he is one fine chef. Great goat water, roti's, soup, and deserts. He makes it all. Or just stop in for a drink...and some great conversation. Meet the people at People's Place. Cool Spot.More

The food is excellent and the owner is really lovley. He is always in for some small talk and he is a perfect representative of the relaxed and friendly island mood. The Roti is the best on the island so make sure you try one....Keep in mind that People's Place closes it's kitchen at around 3pm.More

The original building was destroyed by Hurricane Maria but is now rebuilt and ready for business. Really used as a bar by the locals but food is served and is popular at lunchtime.

Be sure to try the chicken, Chana, or goat roti at People's Place. We've been to Montserrat five times and we freeze these amazing treats and bring them home! Nice vibe, great view, super people. Merci!

Fun place to stop in a grab roti on the go. Or have a beer and stay. John, the owner, has a quick smile and serves up the food and the jokes!

It is definitely a place where the locals congregate for a fun time after work on their way home.
