Pictures and paintings everywhere, brick walls ( hence the name) and sweet service in a leisurely delivery. I had the Zarzula which was really well done, My husband's steak was good but kind of cool when it got there. The whole fish was delicious and the atomsphere was festive and we enjoyed being there. I would reccommend it as a group experience. The wine cellar ( above ground) was a hoot because they let you go look at what they have it and pull it. But beware , some of these wines are really expensive and they do have reasonable ones.

I waffled between giving this restaurant 3 vs. 4 stars but I give it the higher rating because of the wonderful eclectic decor of wonderful and colorful artwork covering every surface. I’m sure there is more to the story of their art and artifact collection and I will look into reading about it. The service was good but sorta disorganized - multiple people came to our table to talk to us about the choices and, at one point, they bought one whole big raw fish in front of us to show us they’d be filleting this very guy and they were all excited about that one fish. So I took their advice and did order that - it was snapper or red snapper or I don’t know because the explanations weren’t clear about the difference but it was tasty and well presented, yet a bit tough. The food was very good overall but the whole experience felt a little disjointed. At first they wouldn’t let us in because we arrived 10 minutes before they actually opened, but it was raining and they decided to let us in and suddenly they were totally ready and showing us the big raw fish. Maybe it was just a weird night and overall I would recommend eating there if you visit Dorado.

I’ve been eating at this restaurant for over 20 years haven’t been since the hurricane two years ago. It did not disappoint. Everything was delicious. We love walking around looking at the art while we are waiting on our dinner.
I had the fillet it was cooked perfectly so tender and the sauce was excellent.
My husband has Lamb chops. We also had a shrimp cocktail.

Staff recommended the Paella but served us an insipid yellow rice with unopened muscles, frozen horrible tasting fish, a few calamari rings, overcooked asparagus, and 3 small but tasty shrimp. The staff offered to wrap it up to go but we told them to toss it to their dismay.
Alot should be expected from such an expensive dish from a restaurant with such history but it’s really quite horrible.
You can try metropol down the street where you’ll pay half the price and get a generous serving of seafood plus a flavorful rice.

They do not have a wine list so they bring you 5-6 bottles of different wines depending on what kind of wine you like and the you chose and they tell you the price. A bit strange!
We started with a small bland onion soup with a large amount of mozzarella and a fresh tasty house salad. The shrimp in creole sauce was amazing and the pork chop was very good. The paella had 2 medium shrimp, 5 pieces of calamari, 1/2 of a very small lobster tail that was so tough we spit it out, two small fish cubes that was equally disgusting and a yellow flavorless rice. We used the creole sauce to add some flavor to the rice.
Definitely stay away from the paella!

We went after a trip to the beach, not knowing this was apparently a "high class" restaurant. We were wearing casual clothes and swimsuits, but we had money and were hungry and it seemed like a nice place. The staff kept asking my toddler if he was going to pay, which is something funny if it wasn't repeated by three waiters constantly. Our were not replenished and had to ask the staff for more. At one point, y toddler got out of the chair but was close to our table and not disrupting other clients, we were placed at the back of the restaurant. A waitress picked up my toddler and placed him forcefully on the chair. This was unacceptable. The food although not bad, it was not great and too pricey for what it was. My husband and his friend had their beers refilled and as soon as we paid the bill they started saying remarks about how long out trip home was going to be and rushing us out of the restaurant, with our drinks still filled. We decided to go because we just felt they didn't want us there.

The service is extremely slow . Even though the waiter and the employees were very polite . The serving size was extremely small. The person who seems to be the supervisor or owner was very arrogant with the employees . They did not have tap water and the bottles of water were 8 oz size !! Cheap water With price of Voss or Fiji water . ( and of course it was not fancy water it was the same water served at El Meson fast food and they have 16 oz bottles available . Everywhere even gourmet places have 16 oz bottles and have tap water as an option. My brother ordered lamb chop and it was basically plain bones .
I won’t return!! . I feel sorry for the employees because they are hard workers and very nice people . And as mentioned before the flavor was awesome . Not even the Ritz Carlton is expensive as they are !

We went for dinner despite the confused menu. Some Italian, Spanish and Peruvian items with local dishes on the menu.
I got the whole fried snapped and it came out soggy, oily and tasting old/fishy.
My wife had shrimp with rice which was flavorless.
Our waitress didn't bother asking how the food was despite both of our plates being left half uneaten.
Definitely not worth the money.

We visited this place on a whim and were blown away by all the beautiful art pieces on the wall and the sophisticated environment. The staff were friendly and even treated us to a few extra things we hadn’t ordered. We absolutely loved their salmon entree, and they had other daily fresh fish specials such as Mahi Mahi and Sea Bass. We also had their Sangria and the bartender was extremely welcoming. Would absolutely recommend this place to anyone who is looking for higher end dining. You might need a reservation on busier nights!

We arrived with no reservation and were let in right away. Linette was very kind, personable, and accommodating to us. The food was delicious, with the Calamari being perfectly tasty, the Paella being of incredible size, and the coffee coming from a fascinating old coffee machine. It was definitely more on the expensive side, but it seemed as if you could go dressed casually. The art and the ambiance were amazing, and we would definitely return to this restaurant. Thank you!

We were looking for a nice dinner with a perfect view and we found this gem. It is a wonderful restaurant in the middle of the small town of Dorado. It has parking and it is like an old Spanish house very carefully decorated with awesome furniture and beautiful paintings. We were looking for a view and we found this place full of beautiful paintings. It was like eating in a museum. We had a great time. Sangrias were perfect. Food was delicious and a great variety of steaks, fresh seafood … a good mixed of Spanish and puertorrican cuisine. To top it off, our server Milton gave us excellent recommendations and made our night. He gave us 5 stars service. We will definitely go back ask for Milton, order something different from the menu and maybe buy some beautiful paintings. I highly recommend El Ladrillo Restaurant.

We are a family of 10 who ate here in January, 2024. We all loved the ambiance and most of my family liked the food but not me. I had shrimp thermadore and found it to be tail on shrimp in a heavy cheese sauce. More importantly, the meal took nearly 3 hours. An hour elapsed between our salads and main courses. I was nodding off before my main course arrived. I shall not return.

This is an island TREASURE! The food was SPECTACULAR! The Service was friendly & detailed. The interior is stunning w/ its walls covered in beautiful paintings all by local artists. Truly EXCELLENT! Note: you have to ring the doorbell. We almost missed out b/c we thought it was closed. So thankful we saw someone walk up to ring the doorbell as we were about to walk away. Can’t wait to visit again next year!
