I’m very bad reviews about writing reviews, which is terrible since I depend on them from other people. But I feel I have to write a review here. My husband has stage 4 pancreatic cancer, and we came to Puerto Rico as a last trip...together. Last night we celebrated 21 months since his diagnosis, something we do every month, because we have fought this cancer and he has survived longer than anyone expected. So I wanted a really fabulous restaurant for our dinner. I read the reviews about what an interesting place it was, the great service and about the steak that people said was the best that ever had. Steak is always some thing I can get him to eat, even when he doesn’t want anything else. We were so incredibly disappointed! We had reservations at 7:30 and they are supposed to be open until 10, but I think that we were the last reservation, and they all just wanted to go home. We were in a corner table, our waiter had absolutely no personality, did not engage with us, did not come back and check on our meal, get us more drinks, and overall it was just not the experience we were expecting. SO disappointing! I had lobster, which was good, but not $78 good. My husband had a filet mignon and it was just not tender. We had much, much better steak dinners at our resort, the Ritz Carlton Reserve. All in all it was a waste of $200 for dinner and more importantly, it was not the wonderful celebration that we hoped for. Go somewhere else!More

We had a wonderful supper with two of our adult children. Beautifully decorated restaurant, surrounded by beautiful paintings. Filet mignon, seafood platter were excellent. The onion soup and escargots were ordinary. Cheese cake delicious. Service was excellent. Very good wine list.

Pictures and paintings everywhere, brick walls ( hence the name) and sweet service in a leisurely delivery. I had the Zarzula which was really well done, My husband's steak was good but kind of cool when it got there. The whole fish was delicious and...the atomsphere was festive and we enjoyed being there. I would reccommend it as a group experience. The wine cellar ( above ground) was a hoot because they let you go look at what they have it and pull it. But beware , some of these wines are really expensive and they do have reasonable ones.More

I’ve been eating at this restaurant for over 20 years haven’t been since the hurricane two years ago. It did not disappoint. Everything was delicious. We love walking around looking at the art while we are waiting on our dinner. I had the fillet it...was cooked perfectly so tender and the sauce was excellent. My husband has Lamb chops. We also had a shrimp cocktail.More

My friend and I came here for her birthday dinner, at the recommendation of our hotel. We asked our hotel where we could go for a special dinner, and dress up but not look out of place. They quickly answered "El Ladrillo", and after eating...here, it's obvious why there was no hesitation. The atmosphere was unique, with tons of local art covering the walls, dim lighting, and beautifully set tables. The service was beyond reproach, our server treated us like family, and our food was brought out quickly. Now. The food. We were quickly given a plate of fresh warm bread slices, drizzled with a garlic oil that was TO DIE FOR. We asked him for more and he brought out a bigger plate of them, no questions asked. We could have happily eaten just that bread for dinner. In stead, I ordered the garlic and butter shrimp in a sherry sauce, and a side house salad, while my friend ordered the file mignon. She's from Texas, and knows her steak, so when she said this was by far and wide the best steak she's ever had, I believe her. I've never seen someone melt on the spot like that over steak haha. Our food was nothing short of spectacular. We are absolutely returning to this place in the future.More

My husband and I had the most amazing experience. We ordered the catch of the day which was a local yellow finn tuna. The dinner was superb!

If you ever stop by El Ladrillo in Dorado, PR do not get caught by its looks and ambience. Food portions are small compare to price. It is expensive and portions small. Service is mediocre though your dinner, it is slow slow slow . If...you are considering a restaurant in Dorado, El Ladrillo is not the option. Definitely, we will not returnMore

Great taste, helpful servers, many choices in the menu. This restaurant may be the longest running restaurant in Dorado area. Nice ambiance. The only drawback is that they take a long time to serve you, because food is started when you order it. So be...patient because you have to wait in order to get back a great meal.More
