Stepped in for lunch when the recommended restaurant had a wait. Glad we did! The food was good. We had seafood trio of tacos- a shrimp, a crab & a fish. All delicious. Tacos are with flour , not corn. Filling was fresh and cooked properly. The best, though, was the mojitos. I thought I didn’t like mojitos because they were always too sweet & too sour. These were FABULOUS! We had a second round. Kept trying mojitos around the island looking for something as good. Casa Bacardi came in second...TRY THEM!

We happened upon this restaurant looking for something filling after waking up our first morning in San Juan. It definitely feels like a tourist trap restaurant, but it was super tasty and we didn’t regret going there! I ordered paella and my friend ordered some gambos de ajillo. The service was very attentive and excellent. However, if you’re going for a traditional, authentic flavor, then I would suggest trying somewhere else. But this is family friendly-perfect if you have kids or wanting a more cost effective meal that’s still delicious with plenty of options.

My first meal in Puerto Rico and I was not disappointed! I had the seafood gumbo with fried plantains and a crabmeat empanada. Food was so delicious! The drinks were also good I had a passion fruit margarita and a strawberry mojito, which were both amazing! Service was great as well. Our waiter only understood a little English, but he was very attentive in taking our orders and easily accessible throughout the meal. The only thing I will say is that if you plan on sitting inside you may want to bring a light sweater they keep it pretty cold since there’s fresh fish out near the dining area.

My friends and I went there our first evening in San Juan. At first the waitress was very friendly and we thought informative. However when we received the bill we were in shock! Over $170 for 3. First, 1 friend ordered the snapper, when told of the cost, waitress said $29. We got the bill and the snapper was $69; when we asked waitress she said, it is $29 per pound! She NEVER said per pound. In fact, we passed on a more expensive entree because of the cost so she should have had a clue. When I ordered my lobster rice, the waitress said do you want your plantains fried or sweet; I said fried assuming that the plantains were included with the meal (it wasn't presented to me that it was extra). When we got the bill the plantains were an extra charge. When we questioned it she said, or we don't have plantains on the island (wth, does that have to do with it??). the question re plantains was presented as if it was included and how do you want them cooked. Then when we were almost finished with our meal, the waitress told my friend with the $$$$ snapper, hold off finishing that I am going to bring you some sauce for that. She brought the sauce, it was delicious but when we got the bill, guess what, it was an additional charge! No mention of it costing extra, and by the time she brought it we were done! I believe the waitress knew what she was doing padding our bill and totally scammed us! she totally took advantage! Tourists Beware!
Oh and in the end, she couldn't/wouldn't take more than 1 cc to pay for bill and had the nerve to ask to include tip.

My wife and I visited Cayo Caribe on the recommendation of our hotel and loved the location and the food. We ate at an outdoor table and enjoyed people watching as we ate. The service was excellent. My wife had the Mofongo and I had Shrimp Gumbo. Both were excellent. We also had some of the best Sangria we have had anywhere. We would highly recommend the Cayo Caribe when you are in Old San Juan!

I requested the cellar room in advance to celebrate my 50th anniversary with my children. When I arrived they had a table for me in the main room. When we complained they gave us the room. It took 1 hour for us to order appetizers. Every time I had to order something I had to get up and look for help. When we finally ordered the food, they did not bring one of the dishes until we had all finished eating and what they brought was wrong. When I complained to the manager, she treated me very badly. So disgusted with the service, I decided to ask for the bill without eating the dessert and drinks. It took 35 minutes to bring the bill.
They ruined the celebration.

The first time I went to Cayo Caribe I didn't like it very much. This time it was different. The shrimp empanadillas and arepas are tasty and full of shrimp. The lobster risotto was spectacular, my niece's fried fish was delicious and we were all very satisfied with our dishes.
The acoustics are poor and there is a lot of noise. First class attention, a lot of care and friendliness.

Currently awful. It was so bad. The waitress had a bad attitude and it took at least 1.5 hours to get food. He didn't come back. It was horrible. They took the order wrong. And I also almost didn't ask if everything was okay... like I froze??? I was also always giving faces to the girls who were in front of the hostess stand. Faces like I *can't with these people* when we were super nice... we're always gonna go down with the family, but he definitely didn't come back.

Wow wow.. What delicious food. We arrived and had to wait in car a few minutes. They dont take reservations. We were called quickly (10 minute wait) we had a few appetizers, entrees and drinks. Appetizers- queso frito, calamari, chorizo al vino & salchicha. ALL WERE Delicious. As an entree we had filet de pescado en mantequilla & churrasco OMGG DELICIOUS. Drinks - pina colada, fruit punch, & a specialty drink that skips my mind. Overall amazing service and food was delicious. Food Came out in tiers which is great. Definitely will be back

Absolutely the best sea food we had among all restaurants! We went for two dinners. Everything was delicious. I had the 2 lbs snapper both nights with sweet plantain. My husband had the black rice and calamari one night and the snapper in coconut another night. We also had the little taco ceviche and fried calamari for appetizers. YUM YUM YUM.

Fish tacos were cold, hard...disgusting. We specified, freshly fried...Not! Condado's kitchen is superior. Hato Rey's kitchen has decline in freshness, taste and presentation. NO PRIDE!!!

Spent 20 minutes waiting for a waiter in my table. Several came to near tables and not even a good afternoon. Was waiting for somebody else and had to change the meeting location.
I left and nobody noticed.

I had the worst experience in my life. Made us wait 2 hours to bring out the food and got my order wrong and wanted to make me wait more. I was livid. I respectfully requested to cancel my order and left the place. What crap service. They need to hire way more servers. That was unacceptable and for the SUPER expensive prices (30.00 for a churrasco pasta) that they are asking totally ridiculous. I'll never come to this comemierda upper class.place that can't even have enough servers, again.

Best very fresh red snapper with Garlic sauce and 2lb Chuleta Kan-kan at very good price too. It was a little too far from the main drag but I believe they have several locations.

Rude and untrained staff. You’re better off trying literally any of the other restaurants in the area, the food is good but not great.
Extremely unprofessional, don’t rely on them for anything.
We called ahead, confirmed our party size and time of arrival. When we arrived, the manager refused to sit us due to our party size, and the hostess lied and pretended we had never spoken on the phone.
