The evening started well: we had a reservation and were seated immediately! However....it was downhill from there! Although we had a lovely waiter the service was awful (meaning incredibly slow). They were out of just about everything (but waited 25 minutes to tell us) and blamed it all on the cruise ships that were docking there daily - as if... More

Our first impression was not great. We had an open table reservation. Arrived early and table wasn't ready. So we sat at bar. Bartender served my husband and then walked away never asking me for my order. Finally safter 10 minutes I got his attention and gave him my order which he never fulfilled. After we were seated things got... More

None of the appetizers ordered were available and the waiter notified us a long time later. The main plates arrived about more than an hour after ordered and the mamposteao rice was cool and the churrasco over cooked and without good taste. Because of the situation our waiter was very ashamed and uncomfortable and brought us a second drink complimentary,... More

Every drink we ordered was unbelievable. Murano special and Plantain Nachos were excellent. Service was outstanding as well.

This place was recommended to us by Puerto Rican friends of ours. I worked hard to make sure we ended our Old San Juan adventure with lunch and drinks here. The bar tender was awesome, the food was tasty but it was crazy to wait two hours to eat fish tacos and burgers. We watched our food while it sat... More

A lot of atmosphere in an old building with a wonderful courtyard (awning helped as it poured rain). Simple but extensive menu. Good drinks.

The food was absolutely DELICIOUS. But the service was very slow. I recommend getting the chicken skewers with rice and get the chimmy chara sauce with it to put on top.

Thank Steven G

The Parrot Club is a nuevo Latino bistro and bar in the SOFO area of Old San Juan on Fortaleza Street. The Parrot Club is a longtime favorite of locals and visitors who enjoy a fun, friendly atmosphere, delicious Latin flavors and wonderful cocktails.Established in 1996, The Parrot Club quickly became a San Juan classic and a SOFO standard. Featuring innovative nuevo Latino cuisine from Chef Guillermo Gonzalez, the Parrot Club's menus spice up classic Latino dishes by combining fresh, local ingredients with modern culinary preparations. This results in flavors that are fresh and exciting. Try the Ropa Vieja Nachos, Pan Seared Shrimp with Arroz Chifa and our own Chocolate Coco Tres Leches. The impressive long blue bar is a scene in itself. Don't miss our world famous Parrot Passion, a frozen blend of Bacardi Limon, fresh orange and passion fruit juice or our classic mojitos. The Parrot Club was designed to take advantage of the colonial architecture of the building with its huge archways and tall beamed ceilings. The colorful art and design is vibrant and happening. Look into the open kitchen or step out to the lovely palm filled courtyard, perfect for private events or dining under the stars. With live Latin Jazz, a terrific weekend brunch, and family friendly lunch daily, there is always something going on in this exciting restaurant.
