This charming rooftop restaurant located on the 5th floor of Hotel Milano in San Juan is sure to please pallets of all kinds with its authentic Puerto Rican cuisine! The restaurant has varying hours during the week, and for our particular day, it was open...at 11:30 am. We were there around noon and had no problem getting a seat outside on the rooftop patio. So, when you go to San Juan, it is expected that you try the Mofongo. If you don't, did you ever really go to Puerto Rico? With that, we began our afternoon with a couple of Pina Coladas (refreshing!) and then took the advice of our waitress and chose the Bolitas De Queso (homemade fried cheese balls with queso) and the Carne Frita (Pork) Stuffed Mofongo. Let me tell you what, the Bolitas De Queso were crispy on the outside with creamy cheese on the inside and the queso sauce was the perfect blend of spice to give the dish an extra kick. Mofongo is an authentic Puerto Rican dish made out of plantains that are fried and then mashed with herbs/garlic/butter. You can choose any protein for your topping, we chose pork with a creamy garlic sauce. The key with Mofongo is taking a pretty pic, then mixing the whole thing and topping it with your sauce. Delicious! The menu is not only economical but full of other options like mahi-mahi, steak, salads, and burgers, so you can bring the whole family and please several pallets. All in all, Punto de Vista Rooftop Restaurant is an exceptional place to grab lunch or dinner when in San Juan. With its beautiful rooftop patio and views of Old San Juan and the pier, this is a "must-do"!More

Was looking for a place to have some mid-day mofongo (not hard) while touring Old San Juan. Stopped in here, had a couple of rum drinks and a pork mofongo. For being in a tourist area I thought the price was good - of course...you can find better value if you go away from tourists where rents are cheap. Mofongo is hard to screw up and this one was good, I'm just not sure I've ever really had a bad one. I did like being up on the roof, although the building isn't high enough to really give you great views.More

If you're a foodie, don't be fooled by the reviews here. Hands down this was the least fulfilling meal of our trip. After eating some very tasty, authentic meals at off-the-beaten-path restaurants on the island, it was obvious the food here is mass produced and...made with cheaper ingredients. The "sangria" tasted like fruit punch. The ambiance was just okay unless you are impressed by views of docked cruise ships.More

The concierge at our hotel recommended this restaurant and it was a winner! Thanks Amanda! They don't take reservations but there is a man at the door who will take your name and phone number to call you when there is a table available. It...all works very smoothly. The rooftop restaurant is on the 5th floor and the elevator was not working. It was worth the climb. There are daily $5 drink specials waiting for you at the bar. We ordered Pina Colada and a Red Sangria. I ordered the chicken tacos and they were the best I have had in a long time. My husband ordered the Picadillitos which he enjoyed.More

Had a blast at this restaurant with my friends on a Thursday night! We were a group of 9 people so we stopped by during the day and made a reservation for dinner. We had Hector as a server and he provided excellent service and...made sure everything was perfect! I definitely recommend the Churassco mofongo, Mahi Mahi bites and the coquito which had strawberries in them!!! Will definitely come back here when I’m in San JuanMore

We arrived via cruise ship and only have a few hours in San Juan. I am so glad we chose Punto De Vista for lunch. It was very nice to speak with the owner and he took our name and phone to text us when...our table was ready. Nice touch. We shopped across the street at a general emporium and he contacted us in 15 minutes or less. We were escorted to the hotel elevator and went to the top floor. All the seats were taken outside, (which didn't matter, since we were given a window side table) and ordered. Our servers helped with drinks and we ordered. Both of us enjoyed their tacos and their beef dish named ropa baracua (not sure of the exact spelling). Quite a treat to enjoy Thanks again for a lovely meal and hope to return soon for dinner.More

This place was recommended by the concierge at our hotel and it was an excellent recommendation! As others have noted, this place does not take reservations. The first night we went there was a two hour wait and we were too hungry to wait. We...came back the next day at 5 and there was still a 90 minute wait! We put our names down and had a wonderful time exploring Old Town until our time was up. By the time we sat down, the sun had set, so not much of a view from the rooftop. The electric blue lights are also a little distracting. But the food!!!! So so so good. We had the cheese balls and the crab stew for appetizers. Both cooked perfectly. Flavourful and delicious with every bite. But the best part of the meal were the mofongos. I ordered the steak and my husband ordered the shrimp. Amazing. Definitely get the garlic cream sauce. I would buy that sauce by itself and serve it on all my home cooking if I could. Drinks were average. Or maybe only seemed average because the food was so stellar. I ordered the “eat your drink” and I wasn’t blown away. This restaurant is not expensive at all and a great deal. You will not leave hungry. This was definitely worth the wait and the highlight of my Puerto Rico dining experience. Can’t wait to go back next time I’m in San Juan!More

Attended in Feb 2020. Enjoyed the ambience, and service. We had the fish tacos which were good. You register with a dude at the entrance of the hotel on the street level where if there is room, they let you proceed to the rooftop. Process...seems to work well. Cheers Happy CanadiansMore

This was the best meal I had on the island. There is a long wait with the waitlist and no reservations, but believe me it is worth it! There's so much good food to try here and it is all reasonably priced given the portions....I enjoyed the mojitos and fish tacos. Definitely come here if you can!More

We really wanted a rooftop patio experience but a little bit of rain and they closed the patio. They didn’t text us to tell us. We arrived, went to the roof and only a sad regular room with no views was the option. Didn’t stay...and felt like a text or even the doorman at ground level Should have said something. Wasted a lot of our time and limited our optionsMore
