Lovely setting, good sangria, good service, decent food - bit pricey

Stopped here for a tapas lunch with my partner a couple of weeks ago. The setting was ideal and very pretty and the waiter came over straight away with menus, explaining the layout of the menu, the type of dishes they offered and also brought us glasses of water. To drink I ordered the Sangria... read more

We stopped here for a late lunch, and were able to find a nice table outside. From the moment we sat down, the service was fantastic. The food (we shared several tapas) was absolutely delicious. The only glitch we experienced was when one of our plates was served to the wrong table, which resulted in a delay in receiving our... More

Stopped at this place because when I walked past the night before the food looked delicious. And I wasn't disappointed. I had a sangria to drink and hummus & crackers as an appetiser which was beautifully presented. The waiter asked if I wanted more crackers without hesitation. And for the main I had a chicken crock pot that tasted like... More

Large patio with good shade coverage, feel the breeze coming up from the ocean and enjoy their amazing mojitos! We had the Mahi Mahi tacos and the Toro sandwich for lunch. Both exceeded our expectations, and don't miss the spicy curly fries with paprika!

My husband and I stopped here for dinner while spending a few nights in old San Juan. Had a nice outdoor table to enjoy a beautiful warm evening. We ordered the empanadas, mussels & clams, and the shrimp pizza. All were excellent. The mussels & clams were in a tasty broth just perfect for bread dipping. We washed it all... More

I went to dinner with my husband and the service was very bad (except the host, he was excellent). My food (sirloin) was tough and my husband's mahi mahi was awful. The table was sticky. The only good thing was the apettizer.

Had a great meal with friends at this Old San Juan downtown eatery. We all had an appetizer, and shared the seafood Paella. Our service was top notch, attentive but not intrusive. Paella was particularly tasty. They have indoor and outdoor seating, and we sat outside and enjoyed the comfortable breeze. We would return if in the area again.

We were in Puerto Rico for a couple of hours on a cruise. We headed up into old town and just happened upon this restaurant. We were looking for a refreshing drink and an appetizer. We found them here! We sat at the bar and Arlene made us a couple of the best drinks we've had anywhere. We shared a... More

Believe it or not, right in the middle of all the tourists and cruise-goers, this is a great spot for outdoor dining with really delicious food. So good that we went twice in two days for lunch! The house salad was a refreshing mix of lettuces, roasted red pepper, manchengo cheese and lemon vinaigrette, and was large enough for two... More

OK, you've been walking around Old San Juan all day and you're hot, hungry and thirsty and you find yourself near the Plaza Colon and the "SoFo" area. Walk down toward the bottom of the street where all the cafes are and look for Toro Salao. It's nothing fancy, but they will take very good care of you. I have... More
