Our first time, found about it on TA. Nice little place with live music (it was a saturday). We were a group of three and for starters we shared the burrata and the salad. For main plates we had the Ravioli filled with pumpkin, the...Gnocchi with white truffles and the fish of the day (Hawaiian Butterfish). All the food was excellent with the pastas and fish cooked to perfection. The starters were also very good and fresh. The only disappointment was the bread (just plain). We will definitely be back and would recommend.More

1) Menu items were different from anything we'd seen in San Juan all week 2) Multiple seafood items including octopus that we don't see often enough 3) Prices were reasonably for dishes that you don't see on every other menu, we've had more than our...share of Mofongo after a few days, thank you very much 4) Service was excellent with a very amicable host who shared a lot of insight into his menu choices and food sourcesMore

We were visiting Puerto Rico from NYC and wanted to try a few different of the highly rated restaurants in Old San Juan. We went to L'Osteria on our 2nd night and had a wonderful time. Great food and service. The room was beautiful and...they had live music on Saturday night. We will definitely go back next time we are in PR. Highly recommend it!More

Ordered a margarita pizza and the pasta of the day, which was meat lasagna. The margarita pizza didn’t even have basil on it! Just a thin layer of cheese over tomato sauce. The crust was underdone and tasteless. We had to ask for fresh basil...and tear the leaves up to sprinkle them on the pizza ourselves. The meat and ricotta (I assume) blended together to form a mushy mass In the lasagna, with no flavor other than salty. Didn’t see or taste any mozzarella at all.More

Felt like I was visiting Italy in this small, warm Italian restaurant run by real Italians. Great fish and pasta dishes. Went twice this trip. In Old San Juan.

Really outstanding food, but on the pricey side and bread not great so I gave 4 stars rather than 5. The Burrata salad was quite good but at $17 expensive. I’m sure some would share but it wasn’t large enough for that to be really...necessary. Homemade ravioli stuffed with mushrooms in a lovely white sauce with Italian sausage was delicious. It was definitely all dente and might benefit from a bit more cooking. The sausage was a surprise as it was very mild and then eat I’ve ever had (little or no fennel) Would be a great spot for a nice romantic dinner.More

This small restaurant is attached to the charming Hotel Decanter, although I believe it is independently operated. There is a good range of eating choices, including various pastas, so you do not need to eat octopus, however if you do like octopus L’Osteria’s is exceptionally...good. There are some good wines available by the glass and the service is unobtrusive but attentive. All this makes it a great dinner destination.More

Went with a friend but it would be a great place for a romantic dinner. Split the buffalo mozzarella as a starter which was fabulous and a large portion. Had the lamb ragu which was delicious. Beautiful interior, great people watching and excellent service. Healthy...portions, you will not be disappointed!More

You have to visit this place ! The menu of authentic italian food, wines and excellent personal service will make you want to come back again and again. We wished we could try the whole menu but the antipasti, pasta and main courses were outstanding.

Enjoyed a lovely meal here our first night in Old San Juan. Proximity to our wonderful hotel, Decanter, was the reason we chose it, yet would go back even if it was not that close to the hotel. Staff was quick, helpful, and kind. Food...was top notch, and the live music was a plus!More

I am Italian: i had melanzane all parmigiana that was overly cooked, almost burnt on top and tasteless! My husband tried to eat ‘ cozze’ with marinara sauce but the cozze were so no fresh that the plate was smelly! The Pinot Grigio wine was...ok. The service not professional. This is a restaurant definitely run by unprofessionals- an Italian that went abroad and thought to set up a restaurant; as it is the easiest thing on earth (😂😂😂)More

Even though the service was a little slow, the food was very good. The wine list is limited and you should follow the owner's recommendations. At least when we visited in February there was not air conditioning. The place deserves a second visit.

The location beautiful, across the cathedral and in the heart of Old San Juan, with high ceilings and large windows. The service was attentive and the food was delicious. The burrata and home made sausage were great appetizers. The mushroom ravioli special was delicious with...a delicate cream sauce. The Hawaiian Butterfish was a delightful surprise. Highly recommend this restaurant.More
