Soldier camp is one of those hidden gems. Rustic but clean and casual. Everold the owner chef an ex-soldier will prepare ur meal the way you want. And the coconut curry shrimp was so good, two days later I was back for the Curry Lobster.......One of our party had a tourist recipe steamed fish the first day, but on the second trip, the request to spice it up a bit more was accomodated with a no problem, and exceeded expectations. No drink service, just help yourself. Everold advises, call ahead so things can "soak" a bit more before you arrive. Take the guess the flag challenge. And if you can get every one correct... Everold will reward you. Surprise. Not telling.More

Best Jamaican restaurant food in Ocho Rios. They give a good amount of food for a very affordable price. We ordered cow foot, curry goat and brown stew pork. Stop by when you are in the area you won’t regret it.

Run by a former U.S. Army serviceman, hence the name, good food at good prices. Get the Coconut Curry sauce on whatever! You can thank me later!

Cool, little gem in Port Antonio. Delicious food served by the chef who takes his time to welcome you and have a little chat.

This is my third visit to Soldier Camp in two months. The great oldies background music sets the mood and the personalized service by Everol, the owner, is exceptional. This week I had coconut curry shrimp with roti the first night and tonight fried fish...with escoveitch sauce, along with crisp bammy. All delicious and the steamed fish with okra was highly praised by my friends. Already looking forward to my next trip to Portland to be able to come back to Soldier Camp. If you go take a flag to add to the collection.More

The best steam fish I’ve eaten in a long while. The dining room is cool and relaxed, playing classic reggae revival. Definitely recommend at least one visit to Soldier Camp because once you’ve cleaned your plate you’re bound to go back again.

We had heard a lot about this restaurant and its owner. Everything we heard was accurate. The seafood was amazing and some of the best we had in Jamaica. The owner is gracious and extremely friendly. Even though he was very busy and didn't have...time to speak while we were having our meal he made sure that he caught us before we left to check in, make sure we had a good meal and explain the history of his establishment. I won't lie we had to wait a long time for food (90 min), but it was worth the wait. You are in Jamaica and you have to get used to Jamaica time. Embrace that you are on holiday, chill out and carve out some time to enjoy Soldier Camp.More

Soldier Camp is absolutely wonderful. It has charm and character, and a very engaged and friendly owner. They do terrific vegetarian cuisine as well, which is not common in Port Antonio. I highly recommend a stop!
