I have studied Port Antonio for years and finally decided to stop studying and go. We were there in May 2016. I had Jerk at the Jerk market several times (it is actually the best at the beach and not the market - the market seems dried out) and Dickie's Best Kept Secret. After watching Port Antonio youtube videos, some... More

Had the most wonderful day floating down the rio grande river but what really made the trip special was the delicious meal that Belinda prepared by the riverside about 2/3 of the way down. After having been disappointed with most of the food I've had in Jamaica her food was a revelation. It was so good we got extra plates... More

Have been coming to Jamaica over the years and eaten at many restaurants. Discovered this one on rafting trip today. Absolutely delicious. The extremely rustic atmosphere leads to the mystic of this gem. Worth a rafting trip just to eat there!

Belinda is a nice lady, the food is nice, the trip down the river is also quite nice... But understand this sort of authentic local food experience can be had a million times over again in markets and street stalls all around the "developing world". I think some of you folks need to get a bit more often. You can't... More

I took a raft down the Rio Grande and after the main rapids (water got choppy) the captain of the reaft pulled onto a single low lying bank to get some food. Belinda serves up wonderous food. The fish and dumplings were yummy and provide you with a welcome break from rafting. Its a very peaceful eating area and totally... More

I was so impressed with my meal that I paid double what I was charged because I had been to top restaurants in Jamaica and not felt as satisfied. Stewed chicken, rice and peas, fried dumpling, bammy and pak choi vegetables. Belinda sure can cook and to miss one of her meals is sacrilege. However, you must book up for... More

Description
This lady is an institution. She has a barbecue on the bank of the Rio Grande river at Port Antonio. You can only reach it by bamboo raft! I'm serious. You can google Belinda's Rio Grande Port Antonio and it will come up. This lady cooks the greatest spicy crayfish and fried chicken ever. Look at my profile- I've eaten all around the world, I'm not joking. I ate their today and it broke my heart to see other tourists rafting by and not taking their lunch there because they didn't know about it. This lady needs a break and Tripadvisor can help. Not out of sympathy, but just great food
