It had been a while since I've eaten truly good Indian food outside of New York or LA. This is it, folks! And if you eat outside, the view of the yachts and the marina is a delight. The service was friendly and professional.
I was out searching for good food with my husband and friend from home. We stumbled across this sea side restaurant. Very authentic and worth the stay. It's right at the Ocho Rios Marina very easy to find of the beaten path. I definitely will...be coming back as I frequent Jamaica.More
Restaurant is amazing, food tastes great and it comes really fast to the table, the service was very friendly, I really recommend this place.
I will give them 4 stars just because it's a little bit pricey, but not excessively expensive.
I am difficult to please when it comes to indian food. My father was an expert on all the styles one can have in this exotic medley of suttle flavours. This restaurant was once passage to India they offered Very similair fair. The food is...great somewhat remenisant of southern Indian food you can adjust the pepper accordingly so it's not to to hot. Without a dought I would put taste of India at the top of my list go enjoy the abiance and the food combined makes a great evening out although somewhat pricy.More
Thought we'd try this Restaurant out, as a bit of a change from the local Jamaican food.
Wish we'd gone to our original choice (Passage to India). The Restaurant was empty when we got there (around 7.30pm) which wasn't a good sign.
The gormless giggling...waitress took our orders and we waited for our food to arrive.
My Nephews' main meal of Chiken Tikka was so salty, we had to send it back.
Instead of being concerned or even embarrassed, we saw that the Chef was laughing when the waitress bought the dish back to him. God only knows what he found funny about that.
They replaced my Nephews' meal with Chicken Jalfrezi, but that didn't taste like the Chicken Jalfrezi i know and love.
In fact, all the dishes we had were flavourless and tasted worse than even those H*mepr*de Curries you get out of the Jar! :/
We told the manager about our disappointment, but he wasn't very helpful. Just saying that's how their curries taste and shrugged his shoulders. No apology, no offer of free drinks...no nothing.
We had to "insist" that he at least knocked some money off the bill, as the food wasn't up to scratch.
He eventually agreed to this and deducted JA $1,000 (£6).....begrudgingly.
We also found this restaurant to be very expensive, considering you can get a similar type of meal in a Jamaican restaurant for around half the price! (The Menu's don't have prices on by the way, so they could be just making it up as they go along).
I DO NOT recommend you go to this Restaurant,.....you will be wasting your money.More
My wife and I had dinner here during our first stay in the Ocho Rios area. We both really like Indian food and so we decided to eat here. We were provided with an enjoyable meal. The restaurant is upstairs and so you get views...over the town which makes for a pleasant environment and ambiance. We'd recommend a visit here.More
Funny thing about downtown Ocho Rios -- we had a hard time finding Jamaican restaurants serving Jamaican food. Burger King -- yes. "Curry" restaurant -- authentic -- yes, but our knowledgeable driver could not locate it -- he even tried to Google it -- no...luck. So we wound up eating at Taste of India -- and glad we did -- fresh Indian food made to order. And, quiet 3rd-floor location offered nice respite from the crazy street level pandemonium.More
