About
Anna-Kay Tomlinson, affectionately known as "Miss T," opened Miss T’s Kitchen in May 2009, fulfilling her lifelong dream of creating a truly authentic Jamaican dining experience. Her passion for cooking, knowledge of Caribbean herbs and spices and years of catering experience resulted in her blending the tastes, smells, sights and sounds of her island home into an unforgettable cultural celebration. She has created a restaurant that is exemplary of all things Jamaican: the rustic country cuisine, the colourful culture, and the great outdoors. There are no walls at Miss T’s Kitchen—just a roof held up by tree-like posts decorated with red fairy lights. “No walls” describes the real Miss T, too. Anna-Kay Tomlinson is a self-taught chef who turned her enthusiasm into one of best restaurants in Ocho Rios, one whose reputation grows stronger every year.

We had an excellent meal at Miss T's. But we had to wait a good bit. We had reservations for 6:30 and didn't see our meals until well after 8. We did order some appetizers (stamp n go) to tide us over. Those came pretty quickly and were very tasty. But also quite small. We also asked them to bring food for our child quickly, which they were able to do. So the ability to serve relatively quickly is there, but...It still took 30-45 minutes for one meal to come out. Which would be atrocious by US standards. We were warned it would be about an hour and a half to get food. They had been slammed earlier in the day by a cruise ship being in town. It wasn't really very busy when we arrived and seemed to get less crowded as the night wore on. But things still moved slowly. When the food did arrive, everything was spectacular. Barbie fried fish, Oxtail, curry, everything we got was delicious and portions were good. I'd go back for the food for sure. They have a nice open atmosphere and a small playground for kids, so it's relatively easy to keep small children entertained while you wait and wait and wait for your food. Bottom line- go, but go expecting to be there a while. Don't go if you're already hungry! You'll get a great meal, but you might need a snack to tide you over for a bit.

My cousin and I did the Reggae, Rum, & Jerk tour with Carnival Cruise Lines for our birthday’s and we loved every second of it. The first stop was this restaurant, Miss T’s. We had a salad, curry goat, BBQ jerk chicken, and some sort of beans. The punch they served was beyond delicious and we kept trying to get one of the waiters to give us the recipe to take home lol. Since the day we did this tour was my cousin’s actual birthday, they sang to her and brought out a slice of chocolate cake for her. It really made her day.

What a wonderful find! Our hotel concierge recommended for us to try Miss T’s Kitchen while at Ocha Rios visiting the Dunns Rivers Fall and Dolphin Cove. First the restaurant ambiance is everything! Beautifully decorated and cozy with chilled atmosphere, never want to get up! Our waitress, Petrona, greeted us warmly and gave suggestions that did not disappoint. Our meals of lobster curry, steamed shrimp, rundown shrimp & honey garlic chicken were authentic, beautifully prepared and absolutely delicious! Rum cake ending left us wanting to come back the next day!! Highly recommend and thank you Petrona for everything!!!

My family had reservation on New Year's eve 2019 for dinner. We dined in the private room offered. The ambience is very quaint & cozy a relaxed environment, very pleasant. However, the main purpose of a restaurant visit is the expected enjoyment of flavorful tasting cuisine. Our experience was quite the opposite, in particular the fish dish, we pre-ordered a 1 lb snapper fish which was posted at a fixed price of +J$3K; however our bill was atrocious and when we required an explanation we were told that the 1 lb fish was not available and we were given the available larger size, closest to our request. The proper service should've been for us to be given the option of paying more for a bigger fish or change our choices. Instead we had NO choice but forcefully had to pay an enormous amount for the disservice. Locals are seemingly priced out of dining out here, as the same dish offered elsewhere in a comparable atmosphere is alarmingly less. This practice of a surprise billing augers not well for trustworthiness. Going forward this establishment need to practice inclusive pricing for ALL ie locals and foreigners to enjoy.

We visited Ms T's Kitchen whilst in Jamaica recently. The setting is nice but we were astonished when presented with out bill: we had two fried fish, which were clearly not fresh and to our dismay cost 4500 ja dollars each - more than £22 per fish. Sharkie's and Gloria's which are renowned fish restaurants charge half that price. We were so disgusted by being so massively over charged for poor quality food.

I was pleasantly surprise to see the restaurant had two kid’s tables available and a small play set just inside the fenced entranceway. However, there was not a children’s menu and the server was not able to allow us to have 2 orders of the fried chicken. The kitchen did not have enough so the kids shared instead and we shared some of our food with the kids too. My husband and I loved the tuna fillets.

My wife daughter and I visited the restaurant on March 13th 2021 and upon arrival were quite impressed by the decor and cozy setting right in the heart of bustling Ochi Rios. Unfortunately that's where my compliments end. Unfortunately I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this establishment to anyone I know, the wait was beyond tolerable, almost 2.5 hours from being seated to arrival of entree's, and to top it off the food was far below par, my oxtail was woefully under-seasoned (read bland) and the gravy was translucent dare I say watered down (anyone who has had oxtail from even the most basic of jamaican cookshops knows what oxtail gravy should be like) and the mediocre curry goat was no match for my father-in-law's handyman who can build furniture, repair plumbing and install water pumps all while delivering a mean pot of curry goat. Our initial glass of water when seated was the limits of our beverage experience as no one bothered to return throughout our visit to offer any more water or even a drink menu. I'm sorry to post such a review but this restaurant has done a great disservice to jamaican cooking.

We've been coming to the restaurant every January for the past 5 years and they never have the lobster, often don't have the crab or honey garlic chicken but consistently never have the moderate priced wines on the wine list. You're then invited into the wine room where everything is $47+++. Every single time. The food is ok but not exceptional so the wine list thing really has started to make us question our recommendations to other guests at our lovely inn. Guy Fiery, there's more to a restaurant than how a celebrity is treated.

We were in Ocho Rios for a week (not on a cruise) and tried Miss T's. We were excited for their jerk and fried chicken dishes. When we arrived we were sat and drink orders taken. A few minutes later they arrived and the server said nonchalantly, "we're out of chicken" and walked away. We had to ask her to come back and clarify a few times that they were out of ALL chicken, wings, jerk, fried, chicken sandwich, etc. More than 1/2 of the menu was unavailable. We almost left but weren't told until after our drinks were delivered so we were stuck and pretty hungry. We finally ordered a beef burger and a veggie burger. For the next hour we were told that our food was coming "in 2 minutes" at least 5 times. The restaurant was empty and it took an hour to make 2 burgers. The server never once came by to see if we wanted another drink. I had to go find her and ask for another Red Stripe. When the food arrived it was also a let down. I wouldn't be surprised if the burger patties had been frozen. Definitely the worst $20 burger (after tax) that I've had. The server was indifferent that we were even there. Last, when trying to pay by card was told that I couldn't leave additional tip (10% service was already added) and would have to leave cash. I still gave another few dollars as additional tip because sometimes people have bad days. But, I won't be returning and don't recommend Miss T's to anyone. I can't imagine what it would have been like had it been packed with cruise ship folks.

Very good restaurant in the centre of Ocho Rios. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We visited twice for dinner and we were very satisfied with the quality of the food. We’d really recommend spinach wraps with jerk chicken or beef and curry goat but both times we were very disappointed with the service which was unpleasant and unfriendly.

Eaten there 3 or 4 times before. Generally good food. Went yesterday to be told that they had a function on and were closed, but we decided to go today instead. BIG MISTAKE! I ordered a Jamaican staple, jerk chicken with rice 'n' peas. Initially being offered the choice of breast or leg chicken I chose breast. Subsequently was informed that there was no breast and only leg/thigh. Accepted this as a reasonable substitute. When the plate arrived it was immensely disappointing. The chicken was completely overcooked ( it seemed that it was leftover from the previous day and reheated), and the meat was virtually nonexistant. The rice 'n' peas was likewise poor and also appeared to have been reheated from before. This, sadly, is the worst dish I have ever been served in Jamaica, having visited here 30 times. I shall not go back.

We ate lunch here and had some outstanding jerk chicken in a nice setting. The food was excellent, though unfortunately it took about 45 minutes from when we ordered (at around 2:00 pm) until we got the food. Though given the quality, it was worth the wait.

Visited with family based on what we saw on social media, the staff was impeccable. Our waiter was courteous, knowledgeable, attentive and well mannered. Our food arrived quickly and was exactly as we ordered. The food was amazing, absolutely nothing was a miss. The oxtail pasta was Devine, amongst some of the best I have ever had. The chicken was cooked to perfection and the rice was prepared properly. Back to the pasta, it was al dente, well proportioned and was bursting with different layers of complementing flavors, the oxtail was well seasoned and was married brilliantly with the Alfredo. The prices are on the high side, but with food this good, an ambiance that nice and staff that courteous, they can have my money any day. So much more to say, but let me finish by saying I will definitely be a frequent customer.

Visited Miss Ts kitchen and wasn’t disappointed. We were seated quickly and our orders taken promptly by a very friendly server. He firstly asked how we would like to pay JMD OR USD which was nice, as most places round the north coast assume you will be paying in america dollars! We only had Jamaican dollar! We were a group of four that had the stamp and go( salt fish fritters) which came out super hot and tasted perfect, they had the right amount of spice and salt fish! We also tried the Miss Ts pick up saltfish, I really enjoyed this but others in the group weren’t really impressed. The only issue was the small amount of pickled saltfish could definitely have had more in the jar. Still a good choice I think. The mains took about 45 mins to come out which is slightly long however the four meals we had were piping hot and extremely tasty the wait was definitely worth it. Between the four of us we had a pasta dish, chiefs special of oxtail & curry goat and a vegan meal. As stated above all were super flavoursome! I would easily say this was the best place I ate while I was In Jamaica. The ambiance of the restaurant is too perfect, it’s super pretty to look at and the music set the sense. Thanks for a wonderful afternoon.

We had an excellent meal with customer service to match. The curry goat was great and the curried shrimp even better. Though it wasn't on the menu, our waiter brought us friend breadfruit just because we mentioned it, along with maybe the best pear (avocado) I've tasted. I say the spot for dining in the area.
