Shuttle bus driver said it was the best jerk chicken on the island ! We went there for lunch as part of our excursion tour package. Jerk Chicken was awesome ! Side of seasoned rice and their fried sugar type bread. Tasty and filling !

This was the best authentic Jamaican food. The smoked pork practically melted in your mouth, I'm still dreaming about it!

Scotchies has amazing jerk chicken and pork. It's a low frills, outdoor, roadside jerk shack but what it lacks in luxury it makes up for with delicious food.

Order a half chicken and half pork and a couple of drinks. The food was outstanding, the atmosphere was awesome as well with an open air dinning area. Prices were great even though I think it might be considered a tourist spot, although out tour...More

I tried a lot of things here on two visits. The chicken was the best I tried, followed by pork, chicken sausage, and the conch. Everything was a bit dry on both visits, especially the sausage. I'm just used to pork and sausage being juicy...More

I'm not sure of the distance between the Riu and Scotchies, we stayed at IberoStar. However, I think that the Riu is close to Iberostar and Scotchies was only about 10 mins. away. I would not go at night.

We visited Scotchies while going on a tour of the island. A taxi may be a little expensive to just take you there and back.

As a precaution I would make a reservation for a group that size, as it's a popular eatery and you could end up with a short wait... however, they do have a bar also. Hope this is of help!! (Herbie)
