We were recommended this restaurant by our villa owner. The reviews are great but unfortunately our experience was terrible. We were a family table of 5, sat indoors in the main part of the restaurant. We had 3 very large tables sat around us (12...plus on each) We were sat first but got overlooked while one of the larger tables got served. We were finally offered menus after 20 minutes. We finally ordered our drinks and food at the same time, after another 30 minutes. My daughter wanted the sea bass but was told it wasn’t available. The waiter then suggested the special, which she went for. We ordered a bottle of white wine. 15 mins later a member of bar staff came to our table and told us the wine wasn’t available. He then suggested an alternative, without showing us the wine list, which we went for(which turned out to be 3 times more expensive then the bottle we had ordered). He then returned and poured us 2 glasses, then leaving the bottle on the side said he would go and get some ice and a bucket. 20 minutes later the bottle was still sat on the side. We managed to finally draw our waiters attention to it and he apologised and got a bucket and ice. Our food came out one by one, my daughters being the last out, 10 mins after everyone else’s. The food was very nice. We ordered more water and 2 soft drinks when our food came out, they never arrived. Finally getting our waiters attention after our mains had been eaten, we asked for the bill and told him the service had been terrible but not sure our English was understood. Service 2/10 food 7/10 value 0/10 We’ve eaten in many fine dining restaurants, this came nowhere near what we were expecting. And ignore the dress code, everyone else does! Shorts, flip flops, all good.More

The journey to SBG from the hotel is well worth it (give yourself ample time to catch a shuttle and then the golf cart transfer to the end of the marina where the restaurant is; from shuttle in lobby to the restaurant is about 20...minutes total so long as you don't have to wait for the shuttle or the cart). Our server, Ariel, was absolutely wonderful. He was so attentive and accommodating and gave us excellent recommendations. The menu is really interesting, offering sushi, pizza, seafood, pasta, etc. The sushi was top notch, super fresh (I had tuna with jalapeno sauce, recommended by Ariel). The butter served with the bread there is unique and you just have to try it for yourself, it's so good. The risotto I ordered (another of Ariel's recommendations) was delicious. The setting is so beautiful and special and the interior decor is so chic. Truly one of the most gorgeous restaurants I have been to.More

Have eaten here a number of times. Food is always good and for the most part was excellent. The service was a solid 8. Appetizers were top notch all around. The shrimp bowl outstanding and everyone loved the octopus. The lone disappointment was the Tomahawk...steak. I’ve had them twice before and they were excellent. This visit wasn’t the same. We ordered 2 medium rare for the table and they came out raw. That’s not the worst as undercooked is better than overcooked. When they came back out we dug in but, the meat was so chewy that your jaw got sore! Good taste but sooooo tough. In a sign of good management they took one of the Tomahawks off the bill and our desserts as well. I wouldn’t hesitate to return but beware of ordering the Tomahawk again.More

If you want to eat at a restaurant with an amazing view and TERRIBLE service....this is the place for you! The food was fine for the most part, but the waitstaff kicked the meal off with a heavy dose of arrogance and total indifference to...our presence. We had to ask for refills of our tea and water each and every time our glasses were empty. Dirty appetizer plates sat on the table for the 40 minute wait until the main course arrived. In short, we felt like our mere presence was an inconvenience to their evening. Oh - and if there is a manager on duty, we damn sure didn’t know it. Find someplace else to support the local economy with your U.S. dollars.More

This was the perfect ending to an amazing 3 night stay at Casa de Campo. Your backdrop: a sea filled with yachts - each one bigger than the next. The restaurant itself has a lovely outdoor area with white-clothed tables, stringed lights, candles, and a...pretty chic crowd. The wine selection was world-class, we indulged in two bottles and ordered salads, pizzas, Osso-Bucco, truffled Mac and cheese (best I've ever had), and a few other dishes that were outstanding. Our waiter Fernando was patient and very obliging. We were a group of 8 so we made him run around a bit, but it was no sweat. Food came out in a timely fashion and service was a 10. By far one of the best restaurants experiences I've had in a while.More

It was our favorite formal dining experience during the trip. It is at the end of one of the marina piers where you can experience the sunset and see boats leaving or coming in from the marina. To start: try the goat cheese and black...truffle focaccia (680 pesos) is not a focaccia at all but a double thin crust pizza stuffed with goat cheese, mozzarella and black truffle or the binchotan tuna (680 pesos) where they provide you with a bunson burner grill and raw tuna. For a main entree, the fettuccini langostino (980 pesos) was absolutely incredible, the fish tiraditos plates were awesome (average 680 pesos) - I tried the popcorn one as well as the tuna one, both I would order again, the duck confit fried rice (850 pesos) was outstanding, the brownie (550 pesos) with a scoop of ice cream was incredible. We dined twice at SBG for dinner and averaged $130 USD per evening including the mandatory 28% tax and tip.More

Nice restaurant service is not at its best they have a picked clientele. I order a sugestion of the day. 20 mins later waiter came back to tell me that it the dish wasn’t available. So I dicided to go with something else. Food came...back cold they disn’t even reheat it well. Rather eat at the marina on any of the restaurantMore

I visited casa de campo with some friends.Visited various places in the resort where we ate a certain variety of good food and normal service .When we finally got to SBG everything was very different: very good food, excellent service at a level that honestly...very few restaurants of the world can offer. We were attended by a tall Asian-looking boy with excellent diction skills, we ate everything he recommended 🙌 its a shame not to remember his name but either way we will be there on Christmas.More
